I am in Toronto and today BB desktop software was removed from my laptop. When I tried to download it, I got this error message: Downloads of this software are not yet available in your country due to regulatory reasons. check back for future availability.

I have downloaded ver 5 desktop manager several times and it is not able to install. I have completely un-uninstalled the previous software and deleted the regristry keys, RIM. After downloading the new version of software (5.01) off of the BB website and extracting the files, it will ask to install in english and then my issue pops up: a windows installer window pops up, with information and no errors. then the installer closes. the installer closes out and will not continue. the desktop manager software will not load and i have tried several different downloads, cleaned installs and i even tried ver 4.6.

I've just recently downloaded the desktop software to my computer and am having some slight troubles. Everytime I put the device password in the computer, it rejects it and prompts me to try again and so on and so fourth.

I just got a Curve 9300 today and when I try to download the desktop software I don't have a clue which one to download.
I couldn't see the Curve 9300 there for selection and I'm really stuck what to do to download the correct software. My options on thw phone state v5.0.0.977 (platform 6.3.0.63). Dont even know what that means!

i have been trying to dwonload the blackberry device software and i am unsuccesful!!!wenevr i try to download it...an error message pops up saying to install microsoft redistrutble c++ 2008 pending...then there is an option for install ...i click it..something gets installed and then i get an window saying blackberry desktop sofware that requires microsft redistrutable package is installed....then i click ok..an then i get a window saying installsheild wizrd complete.
the wizard has been interrupted before blackberry dekstop sofware could be completely installed your system has not been modified.to install the program at a later timeplese run the installation again.

I can not open the Desktop Software v6 after downloading. I get the error message: "BlackBerry Desktop Software has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I downloaded Windows PC software. I have Windows XP with Service Pack 3. Any ideas what is causing the software not to open? I downloaded v5.0 and have no issues opening and using this earlier version.

I am unable to download the blackberry desktop software to my home computer. I have Windows XP and I received an error message when trying to download the software. I cannot back up my blackberry without this software. Any help would be great as I need to reset my blackberry because I am unable to download any apps or receive my personal e-mails to my phone or use BBM and resetting the phone to its factory settings is the only solution I have been given.

After recently updating the Desktop Manager to 5.0.1, the Redirector no longer operates. When opening it, i get the error message."Desktop Redirector has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry..."
I've unistalled Destop Manager, reverted back to 5.0.0 and I still have the same issue. This was and is currently setup with my Outlook 2003 (SP3) exchange server to forward my work emails, and it worked up until I updated to 5.0.1 last week.

my wifes 8530 we just did the BB App World upgrade. Now we can't see or find the icon to open and use it. After being on the phone with Verizon for a while they contacted BB and this is what I was told to do.
-Download BB desktop manager on my computer
-Backup all data from the phone
-Do a hard reset which will delete all data from the phone
-Reinstall all data from desktop manager back to phone and then the icon should appear

A client of ours had upgraded his version of Desktop manager to 6 from 5.something.There is no more link for the Redirector under START - PROGRAMS - BLACKBERRY..The icon for the redirector still shows up in his start menu, however, it says that it's not started.Where can I find the software with the new desktop manager? I've tried reinstalling the desktop manager already but still cannot find it, nor were there any options during the installation to include it.

I have been going through this forum for a while and have tried all of the fixes that I can find to no avail. I have a brand new Windows 7 64-bit machine, that never had the Desktop Manager installed. I have installed version 5.01 off of the web site. Windows is able to see the Blackberry in the Device Manager just fine and I can also see the internal storage available under My Computer and I can access all folders. The Virtual Ports (COM3 and COM4) are also available in Device Manager.
I went through and followed the clean uninstall and reinstall instructions and various other suggestions that I have already seen. For whatever reason, the Desktop Manager still won't see the BB. When going into Options in the Desktop Manager, it shows that USB is selected but still nothing under PIN.I am connected to the straight USB port on the back of the computer and have tried several there.

I'm new to this site. I have been using Blackberry for many years, and was most recently running Desktop Manager 4.2.2. I also use ACT! Contact Manager Software(form Sage) v6.0. All was working perfectly! 4.2 sync's directly with ACT.I recently upgraded desktop software to 5.0 to fix a problem on my device. Unbeknownst to me, BB Desktop Manager software stopped supporting direct sync to ACT after v4.2.So 4.3 and beyond DO NOT support direct sybc to ACT!.I have 4.3 software, but I'm trying to find 4.2.2 download.

I have a Blackberry Bold 9900, which I sync via version 7.1 of the Blackberry Desktop Software to my desktop PC, which is running Outlook 2010 with Microsoft Exchange 2007. The one area that does not sync is the calendar. Changes in my desktop sync to the Blackberry, but changes in the Blackberry will not sync to the desktop. I have checked the settings umpteen times and had others check them. i have removed all Cical entries on the Blackberry. I have completely re-set the Blackberry and settings.

Hopefully someone can help I'm trying to add apps with DM. When I click the App button I get a popup screen that says I need the latest version of DM and click to update. The link takes me to the BB site for software, but it directs me to the same version of DM I already have. I've even uninstalled and installed again hoping that would help.I read in the BB troubleshooting forum that the most current is 1.0.3 build 23, but the one I'm using is build 19. Which is also the one that is linked to on the site I'm just lost how do I get to build 23?I also posted this in the Mac section a couple days ago, but no response.

After doing some backups and so, yesterday I started the sofware, conected the 9700 but the situation is different. Desktop appears gray, it recognizes my phone PIN and model, but it doesnt works. It appears freeze. Also the phone icons appears freezed. Shows the PC and the phone, but none moves. I tried with other PC, but the situations remains similar. What is happening?

So, I just upgraded to a new Bold 9700 w/ Desktop Mgr 5.0.1.
I understand the complications some experience with this, and have diagnosed nearly everything (firewalls, virus protection, USB connection works, full/clean uninstall of old DTM, etc, etc.).
The unit is recognized by my PC and DTM. I can successfully search and download software updates, but I continue to get this error about "Your computer must be connected to the internet to perform this operation." It's maddening!
I use a stand alone PC running XP and using Outlook 2003. I'm not on any network. Don't use BES. I transferred all data from an old 8130 to this with no problem, I just can't get the initial sync to happen.
The only remaining solutions I've read about (although don't really understand) are:
1. ensuring COMM ports 80 and/or 443 are open to the device. How exactly do I do this? Really, I have no clue what that means.
2. Finding an old version of Destop Manager (4.2 and earlier). Got a URL handy?
3. changing my bberry router configuration. This sounds drastic, but at least it's a workaround.

I recently opened my BB desktop manager and it told me an update was available. I updated as suggested to v.6.0 and it seemed to download and open fine but since that initial time when it opened automatically after downloading I haven't been able to open it at all and keep getting a message saying that BB Desktop Software has stopped working.I've tried uninstalling and then reinstalling and it's not made any difference. I'm running Windows 7 on my PC.

I'm trying to update my phone on Blackberry Desktop software. When I connect it recognizes my phone's PIN but then asks me for a password. When I enter the password I use to unlock my phone it doesn't recognize it. Plus the track pad seems to be locking on vertical scroll on a number of applications.

Please check server access or provide a valid password?I tried to uninstall the new desktop 6.0 and it says there is some kind of error so it will not uninstall.I reinstalled over the 6.0 and that didn't[t work either?
