View 5 Replies View RelatedBold 9650- Verizon First time Blackberry user Is there a way to monitor which apps are running? I'll launch an app, think that I closed out of it and when I return to it, it appears that it was never closed. This would eat up some serious battery life if I have numerous apps running in the background. Please let me know your opinions.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just purchased a Class 2 16gb microSD card and my 9700 is running slow. Is the 16 too big or is it because of the Class 2? The decrease in performance is not worth the extra space compared to the 2GB that came with the phone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedYou know how when you open an application, and just press the hangup / power key, it exits the application from the screen but it still keeps running in the background memory. I have noticed that such applications in the memory can drain the battery real quick. I was wondering if anyway on the phone you can check which applications are currently running in the background memory? If i can find that out, I can just exit all the apps and save my battery life. Let me know if anyone knows a way to do so.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy phone, on a weekly basis, gets very hot and runs out of battery. even if I charge it for 10 hours and unplug it at say midnight, but 4am I am being awoken with the phone beeping as it is about to cut out.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIt's happened to me a couple times now. I just got this 9700 and it doesn't even warn me the battery is low, it actually has a bar or two in the battery icon and it just completely dies, so I have to plug it in to the USB and wait 5 minutes for it to start up, THEN it says it has a low battery. The phone has a generic wall charger.
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy blackberry is going at a snail's pace...no, make that an injured snail's pace! I am at a loss as to why. I have very few downloaded apps: one or two games and a couple of random apps. My actual harddrive space is fine (859MB total/846MB free), but it tells me I have 0.0kb of available application memory. However, I do not have ANYTHING running besides what always runs like "home screen" and "phone" and "browser"...you know, the stuff you can't remove from the Switch Application menu. And it will seem fine but when I do open a program, I get the hourglass every time I click something or scroll.
To give you an idea of how irritating this is, it took me over 20 seconds to unlock the keypad, and another 20-30 seconds before the hourglass went away and I could move my cursor (slowly) to the app I wanted to run. And heaven forbid I run 2 apps at once. Then I've had to wait over 5 minutes for hourglasses to go away. It wasn't always like this. I used to leave all my apps running. I never worried about whether I pressed the EndCall button or closed it from the menu. Could this be caused by one of my apps? If so, how do I find out which one? Ugh I'm so frustrated! If I needed to call 911, I would be dead before I got my keypad unlocked. I'm not exaggerating.
I am on my 3rd Blackberry, currently on the new Bold 9900. It developed this camera fault that seems to be an issue throughout the Blackberry series. Yep the "camera not working because there are to many apps running" problem......except there are no apps running, this is clearly a hardware issue.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a 16gb Micro SD card that Ive been using in a Storm 2 9550 for a lil while. Well ive sold the storm 2 and since then the card has been sitting there in a box. When I insert the 16gb Micro SD card into the Bold, It says a memory card has been inserted would you like to format it? So It then asks me if I would like to format either the device memory (Internal Memory) or the Media Card (External Memory) So I obviously pick Media Card, Then It says "Formatting Card, Please Wait...." My phone freezes up and does nothing, Ive left my phone at this screen for 30 minutes, Everything quits working. I have to pull the battery in order to make the phone functional again. Ive already tried wiping the Bold (Security Wipe) and I have also tried formatting the device memory. When I go into work today Im going to try and format the card with a co-workers Storm 9530 Running 5.0 Hopefully this should solve any problems. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Oh and Ive called up AT&T they said they will send me a replacement device so im waiting on that to come.

View 1 Replies View RelatedTo add to my complaints for the Blackberry 9650 (internet browser problems, forced to use Bing, 5 minute boot-up time), the blackberry runs very very slow. Constant hour glasses. Compose an email results in an hourglass (not all of the time,
Feels like Blackberry is turning more into Microsoft than apple. Instead of quality improvements, we get more powerful hardware that runs slower with unpredictable feature availability and an eye for $ for sake of purely $. FWIW, I upgraded to 9650 from the original Bold with AT&T in late 2008. I am nervous about how slow the 9650 will be in 2 years if its this slow out of the gate.
When I got my 9700 it was running smooth. I downloaded a few apps and all of a sudden it started showing the little loading clock on almost everything I ran, so I deleted a few apps and voala!. It was working good again. But now, I have not downloaded any new apps and is giving me that clock againg.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a nokia 5800 and the maps service is pretty good (except the waiting for GPS problem). It's a bit impractical for me to test myself, but does anyone know what you can do while the Ovi maps software is on?
For example, say I have the GPS set to take me somewhere, can I switch applications to a game or something and still have the voice over of Ovi maps in the background? Also generally, does anyone know if the "Send to phone" feature on the Ovi store (the one you access from the computer) costs money? Or is it free.
The IPhone picture is with the OS running iOS 4. I know 95% of those already have it but those who prefer to wait is this driving you nuts?

Do I need to do any prepping like gradually undoing my xposed modifications prior to flashing? I want to reset my phone to like it was out of the box and do not want to brick it.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI got a Z5 Compact just yesterday and have been trying it out. I do like the phone a lot, especially the side power button / fingerprint reader is fantastic. The back could be more curved to make it nicer to hold and the display calibrated better.
Anyway, my problem is that the phone runs hot! After unlocking it and just browsing the net (no videos) for about 20 minutes the phone gets warm especially from the back. It's not burning or anything but enough to be noticeable and enough to be a bit uncomfortable. Watching a YouTube video doesn't really change the situation. The only time I've got it really hot is when Play Store was downloading all my apps on the phone - but then again my old Galaxy S4 got hot in that situation too.
I tested various situations (using camera to take a video, watching YouTube, browsing websites) and compared to my S4 and the Z5 Compact was always much warmer from both front and back (even without a back cover on S4).
