I got a Z5 Compact just yesterday and have been trying it out. I do like the phone a lot, especially the side power button / fingerprint reader is fantastic. The back could be more curved to make it nicer to hold and the display calibrated better.
Anyway, my problem is that the phone runs hot! After unlocking it and just browsing the net (no videos) for about 20 minutes the phone gets warm especially from the back. It's not burning or anything but enough to be noticeable and enough to be a bit uncomfortable. Watching a YouTube video doesn't really change the situation. The only time I've got it really hot is when Play Store was downloading all my apps on the phone - but then again my old Galaxy S4 got hot in that situation too.
I tested various situations (using camera to take a video, watching YouTube, browsing websites) and compared to my S4 and the Z5 Compact was always much warmer from both front and back (even without a back cover on S4).
I have an AT&T G4 running 5.1 that is rooted, has had xposed installed and various modifications made like apps frozen, pimp my rom, and stuff like that. I want to reset it back to stock firmware. What I want to know is how to flash the stock firmware and how safe is it? Do I need to do any prepping like gradually undoing my xposed modifications prior to flashing? I want to reset my phone to like it was out of the box and do not want to brick it.
Occasionally when using my device, it will freeze for a brief moment and the running apps window will pop up by itself. It will then start cycling through the running apps list (I use the card view), and it will randomly open one of the applications, and then sometimes repeat this process a couple of times in quick succession before I can regain control of the screen. The whole event will usually last about 3 seconds, but as you can imagine it is becoming quite annoying. I would say that it happens about every 3 days or so.
I have downloaded a marine GPS and I want to use it with Microsoft Flight Simulator.
The GPS provider has provided me with a link for a program that would enable me to receive the GPS locator information from my PC rather than directly from the satellites. But it is for a Bluetooth connections, which I don't have on my PC. Is it possible to use the USB connection that came with the phone to receive the information from my computer?
I have my iPhone 4 set to get it's time automatically buy recently noticed, while waiting for a train, that it was running slow against the station clock. I double checked it against BT's speaking clock and found that it's almost a minute out.
I made sure my iPhone's clock wasn't simply slipping by manually setting it forward 20 minutes or so then letting it resync with the time server. Again it was a minute slow.
My blackberry torch seems to be a bit faulty in some way at the min , I've recently purchased several batteries for the phone, all of which working perfectly when I leave the shop, when home I charge them up to full and use it as normal no problems. I continue to use the phone until it completely runs out of charge but when it comes to charging it again it shows a battery with a Red Cross through it and after reading other comments of just leaving it to charge I did that but nothing happened so went back to the shop they tested the battery only to find it completely unuseable and me having to buy a new one.
For the last 2-4 weeks my phone has been running very slowly. I am ready to throw it to the ground under a passing train it is so bad. Type in someone's name and maybe a minute later it finds them in the address book. Click on an entry to dial the call and a minute later it presents the Google Voice question and after another wait it finally dials the callThe best advice the local Verizon store had was to reset the phone, but I'm dreading the work that will take, and the bits of data that will be lost
I know the current version is 10586.29 but I cant find it in advanced info. When I tried to update it the other day it said it failed and now nothing is showing in the update.
How can I stop some Apps from loading automatically into memory. I do use Task Killer App, but few seconds after I kill the running apps, they load again. I don't want to uninstall the apps becuase I do use them sometimes, but I don't want them fill precious memory, that slows down my phone tremendously.
I understand apps that the mobile needs in its usal process, but other apps, like bible, games by popcap, first-ad, etc... its not always same, but the games by popcap is persistent (this app is a bloatweare, included in the software).Byw, am only on prepaid, so most of the time the "data enabled" is not checked or am not connected to the web.

So to get to the point my nexus 5 is running android 6.0.1 and i was wondering for download to root it without my pc? My computers hard drive keeps acting up and crashing.
I have run out of space on my phone. (Again. Why can't I add an sdcard to this nexus thing dammit?) I'm going through the Storage sections under Settings, picking and choosing what I want to keep and discard. There's a number of items appearing in Downloads that I want to move to my PC, but I can't find the files and the only commands available are Open, Delete and Share. How do I locate the items so can copy them?My phone is not rooted and is running Lollipop 5.1.1.
Downloads as shown in from Settings >> Storage: [URL] .....
I have a Galaxy S6 T-Mobile version that I have had for about 2 weeks now. So far I have been pretty happy with it, specially as I came from an iPhone 5s. However I am having an issue that is really annoying.
I have a fitbit charger hr tracker connected to the phone. When I use the activity tracker function of the fitbit app I am unable to unlock the phone at all. The screen stutters and takes a while to fully load when pressing the button and the majority of the time it will fade out, not even giving me the ability to use a fingerprint to unlock or to swipe if the smart unlock is on.
As this point, I am not sure if this is caused by the fitbit app or if it is the GPS that does it. With the exception of the rare time it unlocks for me, I need to restart the phone each time.
I went ahead and cleared both caches, after looking up how to do it. Unfortunately it does not appear to have worked at all. I am seeing the same symptoms. I noticed a further symptom as well. I started playing music during a walk and the bluetoothplayback was periodically interrupted. A stutter of some sort.
I will next be ruling out BT issues using wired, as I have never had issues with this headset before I think it is related.
The other thing I noticed was that I was able to put it into airplane mode and while still stuttering severely, I was able to unlock the phone though with much hesitation. My next step will also to be trying this same task without the GPS on, seeing if that makes a difference.
I just got a Nexus 5 running Android 4.4.4 yesterday (graduated from a 3 year old Samsung Ace so I am a little overwhelmed by the fancy new phone!!). I can't seem to find a call log anywhere? When I hit the phone symbol, it brings up the 'speed dial' screen with the most frequently called contacts, but there doesn't seem to be the typical call history with calls made, missed calls etc....or at least I can't find it!! I missed a few calls today and after the notification disappeared I can't find the numbers again!
Just after the upatde performed, i turned on my cell and from this time when i turn on my phone it just run endlessly the sony ericsson animation. So i can't use my phone at all.
My PC is running XP 64bit OS, my old Xperia U connects fine through the same USB cable and my Xperia Z2 recognizes flash drives connected to it via the supplied adaptor cable... Does the phone perhaps not compatible with old version of windows?
I'm having problems running videos on a new Z5 over my home network.
The following WON'T play:
Home movies with .avi extensions made on a Canon camera Downloaded movie with .avi extension Several home movies with .wmv extension recorded by an Android phone Home movie with .mp4 extension recorded by an Android phone Commercial movie with .VOB extension TV recording in a TS format
The following WILL play
-Home movie with .3gp extension recorded by an Android phone -A downloaded film with .avi will not play via the home network but when physically copied to the Z5 it plays ok. Only tried with one movie.
There seems to be a mixture of instances as illustrated above. I also did a test movie on the Z5 then copied it to the network computer which did play on the Z5 via the home network.
i have recently bought a sony xperia play and whilst looking round the apps and other functions i clicked on maps, i pressed the back button and the page went, but i have noticed my battery doesn't last very long, upon investiation i found the maps app to be using 70% of my battery power but i thought i had closed this app, does any one know how to close it properly or has anyone else had this issue
Well the day after I got my 5.0 update on my s5. I noticed that my gallery was running. (according to the task bar), so I stopped it. I go back on it a few seconds later and it is running again. How do I stop this!!!
