View 9 Replies View RelatedI have an iPhone 4 16 gb black and since updating to ios 5.11 the phone has been running above normal temperature and has severe battery drain (10 mins - 1%) on standby mode. I would be grateful If I could get a quick reply as not to prematurely use up battery life cycles unnecessarily. Any way to extend life cycles from a battery and does using the battery whilst keeping it plugged in pause the life cycle process?

Ever since I upgraded my iPhone 4S to iOS7, it has basically become a brick. It constantly freezes, and the home button becomes completely inoperable. People have suggested a number of fixes for the home button problem ("calibrating", tightening screws, etc.) but none of the fixes solved the problem. Through trial and error, I've come to realize that the problem is that the phone doesn't have enough computing power and that too much of its RAM gets used up by background processes, causing the phone to freeze. Â
I have found an app that stops unnecessary background processes currently running, frees up RAM, and lets the phone function properly (Free RAM 1.3). Once I've run this app, the phone functions perfectly. Â
However, this clean up only happens each time the app is launched (ie: it does not continuously free up RAM). So, I constantly have to run it (and sometimes am not able to because the phone is frozen and the home button won't work). Â
When it is running, the app displays the background processes that are running. Looking at the list, there are many processes for which I have no need, such as processes related to automatic checking for app updates, processes related to iCloud (which I do not use), etc. Preventing these processes from running in the first place would go a long way in making my phone more useable (being able to return to a previous iOS would be a better option, but Apple won't allow this).Â
Here is my question:Â is there a way to prevent unnecessary background processes from running at all?Â

I have a C3 and am using it for email. I have set up my hotmail and google mail account.
Every day at 9:00 my phone checks for email automatically That is no what I want. I only want it to check for messages when I ask for it. i have a plan with a fixed amount per day, regardless how much I use it. So the automatic check for email says to my provider "you can charge this phone for the day". And that is not what I want if I do not intend to use the phone for the rest of the day.
Where can I set that automatic checking for messages is turned off.

HOW to prevent the phone nokia 1020 from automatically switching on? This NOKIA 1020 is the crappiest phone I ever had!!!
the most annoying "feature" of the Nokia Lumia 1020 is that it impossible to switch the phone OFF when you don't need it.
This moronic phone decides on its own when to switch ON - as soon as the battery is charged just enough to start it, it tries to start, drains the battery and 5 minutes later tries again to start and keeps repeating this vicious circle to no end.
When you connect to a charger strong enough, it will charge BUT you SIMPLE CAN'T SWITCH IT OFF when you don't need it - this idiotic phone keeps restarting until the battery is drained!!!
There is no way that you can charge the phone and keep it switched off until you need it! Is there a way to keep a charged NOKIA Lumia1020 switched off when you don't need it?
How can I stop some Apps from loading automatically into memory. I do use Task Killer App, but few seconds after I kill the running apps, they load again. I don't want to uninstall the apps becuase I do use them sometimes, but I don't want them fill precious memory, that slows down my phone tremendously.

So is it possible to set the dowloads to go to my SD card automatically? And how do I move already installed ones there? And is it a good idea to put them onto my SD card? Since, if I take my SD card out, the apps wont work/crash etc.
View 4 Replies View RelatedNoticed that Z3 always awake (and thus bad battery life), even from within Ultra Stamina mode with no running apps? This happened to me twice now with just over two weeks of using this phone. I haven't been able to take specific steps to replicate this yet, but 2 days in about 16 days means so far over 12% of the days.
Â
Usually, the phone lasts over 24 hours with moderate use. I normally have stamina mode "on", and set to activate at 50% battery level, and then Low Battery mode to activate at 20%. Note also that all the apps I am using have been installed from the first day I've been using the phone. That is, I have not installed any new apps before I noticed this happening, and when I have "normal" battery life it is using the same set of apps.
Â
Here is an outline of what happens:
Â
I notice a much faster than usual power drain, despite being a typical day of usage (i.e. nothing out of the ordinary). I go to battery usage, and see the history details, and see that "Awake" has been on constantly, including during long screen off times, and all the while with Stamina mode enabled and active.
I then restart the phone. Problem still there, still constantly awake despite screen off and stamina.
Battery dips below 20% and Low Battery mode activates.
Phone keeps on being constantly "awake", despite no usage and now both low battery AND stamina modes on.
Restart the phone. Same problem.
I turn on Ultra Stamina mode. (I did this last time at 17%)
Phone continues to be always awake. Battery quickly drains down to 5% within less than an hour and almost no use, even though Ultra Stamina is supposed to stretch the life for an order of magnitude longer than that.
I shut off the phone to avoid complete discharge. When I return home, I plug it in and wait for a decent charge before turning the phone back on.
After full charge, I take the phone off the charger. Phone now works normally again, without always being "awake".
Â
I can't figure out what causes this sequence of events to kick off in the first place. I'm trying to play around with things to get it to start doing this, but so far I haven't been successful in deliberately replicating the problem.

My android version is 5.0.2, v. 23.1.A.0.726.
I was previously an iPhone 5s user and just got my s6 not long ago. On my iPhone, there is a toggle where I can prevent certain apps from using ANY data at all, not just background data. Meaning if I were to switch that on for Facebook, when I open the Facebook app, and I'm not on wifi, it wouldn't be able to load anything at all.
I understand there's the restrict background data feature on the s6, I tested it and it will only restrict data when I'm not using the app. But if I were to open the app it will still use data. For example I would like to turn off data for my manga app, as I usually download the manga at home using wifi. But now everything I open the manga app it will use my data to download some images on the manga app.
Is there anyway I can completely prevent an app from using any Mobile data? It should prevent the app from using data even when it is open.
I am using a 32G iPhone 4S and running IOS 5.1 (9B179), No jailbreaking. Sometimes I turned off 3G and Cellular Data in "Settings" - "General" - "Network" - "Enable 3G" & "Cellular Data". (for longer battery life outside...) I found that after a period of time (such as one day), the 3G will be enabled but "Cellular Data" still off. I have encountered this issue twice. I am sure I did not touch any settings during this time. Is it a bug in 9B179?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI noticed that lots of apps do load when the phone starts (boots up), and some of them I really do not need them (until I use them), so they keep running in the back (memory).
Is there a way of preventing apps to load when the phone starts up; or any good (and free) app that I can select the apps I don't whant to be loaded when the phone starts up?
I have my Mini Pro (2.3.4) set to never use the dictionary/make word suggestions when I'm using the slide-out keyboard. However, it still underlines each word as I am typing it, which is silly and distracting. Is there any way I can turn this off?

View 5 Replies View RelatedOccasionally when using my device, it will freeze for a brief moment and the running apps window will pop up by itself. It will then start cycling through the running apps list (I use the card view), and it will randomly open one of the applications, and then sometimes repeat this process a couple of times in quick succession before I can regain control of the screen. The whole event will usually last about 3 seconds, but as you can imagine it is becoming quite annoying. I would say that it happens about every 3 days or so.
