I have an iPhone 4 16 gb black and since updating to ios 5.11 the phone has been running above normal temperature and has severe battery drain (10 mins - 1%) on standby mode. I would be grateful If I could get a quick reply as not to prematurely use up battery life cycles unnecessarily. Any way to extend life cycles from a battery and does using the battery whilst keeping it plugged in pause the life cycle process?

Ever since I upgraded my iPhone 4S to iOS7, it has basically become a brick. It constantly freezes, and the home button becomes completely inoperable. People have suggested a number of fixes for the home button problem ("calibrating", tightening screws, etc.) but none of the fixes solved the problem. Through trial and error, I've come to realize that the problem is that the phone doesn't have enough computing power and that too much of its RAM gets used up by background processes, causing the phone to freeze. Â
I have found an app that stops unnecessary background processes currently running, frees up RAM, and lets the phone function properly (Free RAM 1.3). Once I've run this app, the phone functions perfectly. Â
However, this clean up only happens each time the app is launched (ie: it does not continuously free up RAM). So, I constantly have to run it (and sometimes am not able to because the phone is frozen and the home button won't work). Â
When it is running, the app displays the background processes that are running. Looking at the list, there are many processes for which I have no need, such as processes related to automatic checking for app updates, processes related to iCloud (which I do not use), etc. Preventing these processes from running in the first place would go a long way in making my phone more useable (being able to return to a previous iOS would be a better option, but Apple won't allow this).Â
Here is my question:Â is there a way to prevent unnecessary background processes from running at all?Â

I have an iphone 4 with 3G from Verizon. I have had this phone since 4/2012 and was working fine. Battery was lasting up to two + days. All of a sudden yesterday it started getting hot and battery was draining in about 4 to 5 hours. I did a reboot this afternoon and phone is now running cooler but battery is still draining quickly. In the last hour it has drained about 20% and i have not been on the phone. I have turned off all apps.

I'm on my second iPhone 4, since my first one had the yellow screen blobs. The battery was great on my first one, but not so good on this one. I restored the same backup, and even did a settings reset to get rid of anything that may cause an issue.
What's weird is that when I check the usage in Settings > Usage, the standby is correct but the usage is creaping up without me actually using the phone. For example, went to bed last night and usage was around 3 hours and battery level 55%. This morning, it was 3.5 hours and battery was down to 47%. I'd even restarted the phone before going to bed so that nothing was running in the background.
I'm just DFU restoring my phone to see if that helps. And I might delete and re-add my Google Apps Exchange accounts incase there is something going on there.

How to determine which apps if any are the cause..
I dont believe its a faulty battery as I have a second battery and will have the same problem with that one.Yesterday I hardly used my phone. I was at home ( which is in a weak signal area) and when I checked the phone at around 8pm it was dead. Off with no charge left. Started the day with an overnight charge.
If the problem is an overactive app how can I find it and remove?

It is as follows:I come home from work in the evening and charge the device. The battery fully charges within a few hours and I go to bed.I get up maybe six or seven hours later and the device is completely dead - the battery is dead!

I just got this 9700 and it doesn't even warn me the battery is low, it actually has a bar or two in the battery icon and it just completely dies, so I have to plug it in to the USB and wait 5 minutes for it to start up, THEN it says it has a low battery. The battery doesn't even let me get to the orange or the red and the screen just goes bright white and all the keys light up. I cannot get rid of the white screen unless I remove the battery however when I put the battery back in the screen just goes white again unless I put it on charge.
Now my battery only lasts me about 45 minutes! What I don't understand is why it doens't even go to orange or red and why the screen goes white?

My stock Xperia Neo, running gingerbread (Received all updates from sony) has following issues. The battery runs out of juice rapidly (3 - 4 hours). Even when I turn the phone OFF (not idle) it drains completely to a point where it does not want to power on anymore. Also the battery wont always charge, and when it charges the phone (not the battery) gets really hot (the part where cpu is located).
I thought the battery had given up after 1 year; So I ordered a brand new battery. When I received this new battery, the phone restarted. But this new battery faced all the same problems. Phone running hot, battery draining really quick (withing 3-4 hours idle, wifi and data turned off). And when the phones powers off due to the battery being completely empty, it does not restart any more and it does not charge anymore.
According to my better battery stats my WiFi is always running. Is this normal even when WiFi is turned off?

i am basically getting with 3g settings on email updates every 1 hour 15-25 web pages and 10 Internet songs and a couple calls adding < 5 minutes .thats about the extent to which teh battery lasts for me. i end up having to charge at night definetly but sometimes even during mid day.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a Blackberry curve with 3G (purchased around 6 months ago at most) from the carphone warehouse. Apart from the newer Blackberry OS being buggy/a bit useless the phones been OK, but as the title suggests it's now occassionally freezing (you get the square with the arror turning) and as well as that I charged my phone to full battery a couple of days ago, turned it off overnight and the next day it had run out of charge. I tried again last night, the same thing happened.
The battery looks fine, fits in it's slot perfectly and isn't bulging/weird. The phones also never had water on it and i don't think that I've ever dropped it (it has a silicone case).

I don't know what the deal is, but I have been charging my phone over night, and within 2 hours, and barely any use at all, it drains to about 80%.I don't know why. I am not doing or running anything different than I normally do. Was just wondering if anyone else has been experiencing the same thing?The only thing I can think of is maybe they are doing something with the towers where I live, NJ, and that is causing my phone to search for a signal more, thus causing a drain.

Nothing has been installed recently, so i dont understand why this has started happening all of a sudden.
The battery drained within the day also, without it hardly being used!
I have now deleted photos, apps and some music, even though not much is stored, but i keep getting a message that the memory is low.
I have to keep pulling the battery as it often freezes on the clocktimer on a black screen or the background, and I have also removed the battery for 2 mins.

I just bought z3 dual and just moved from windows to android. I am pretty new to android os and I am honestly liking it a alot.

I stopped some of these apps (not the ones for android services) using "Force stop" but they were still appears here. So how could I stop them to save battery?

I purposely bought two iPhones and a new iPad because of the perceived safety with iOS. My children have been using the iPhones and iPad.I now have ZERO trust that it's safe to have them use the devices.Second, since I didn't see this occur, it appears that from what I did see that this was one of the "Ads" that pop up while you play Angry Birds. Why in the world would the creators of Angry Birds - a game played by children connected with their game?And third, how do I prevent this from ever happening again. I turned restrictions "On" after my wife showed me the ad. Is that good enough to prevent this?
