Jun 3, 2012I purchased 10.6.3 and since upgraded to 10.6.8. Now my iPhone 4s is not recognized in iTunes (10.6.1) I rebooted and unplugged - replugged everything and still nothing. My phone IS recognized in iPhoto though, for what it's worth.

IPhone :: Get A Chance That The Recovery Is Running In The Background Without Showing Up On The ITunes
Apr 9, 2012My iphone is stuck in the recovery mode, it is not coming out of the mode after the iOS upgrade failure. I can hear the beep sound of the USB connectivity when i try to switch on/off the phone connected to my windows computer. But it is not being listed in the itunes devices. Is there a chance that the recovery is running in the background without showing up on the iTunes?

Jul 29, 2010I have a 3GS running OS 4.0 jailbroken with Pawnage tool. Everything seems normal except that iTunes is acting really weird when I try to synch my apps.When I plug my phone into iTunes and click on the "apps page", instead of seeing a screen shot of my iPhone showing all of the apps I have installed, iTunes shows a blank page. The wallpaper of my phone is displayed, but the rest of the phone is completely blank (no apps, not even the default apps or dock apps like the phone, iPod, email, SMS, calendar, etc). When I tried synching my phone, iTunes rearranged all of my paid apps in alphabetical order. I then rearranged them and tried synching again, only to find the iTunes had put them back into alphabetical order again. ITunes wouldn't recognize any of the folders that I created either. Each time I synched the phone, my folders would be deleted.
Does anyone have any idea how to fix this problem? I read this article on MacWorld where the guy reviewing iOS 4 (and those who left comments) had the same problem with their stock (unjailbroken) iPhone so, I think its a iTunes problem as opposed to a jailbreak problem.
From MacWorld article: "I did experience one issue where, after creating a number of folders in iTunes, and then syncing my iPhone with iTunes, all the folders disappeared and my apps were rearranged (on the phone) in alphabetical order—an incident that required quite a bit of time and effort to recover from."

what i realized is that i cannot set a picture for the background!! i only can set it as before for the lock screen, is it that it doesnt work on the 3G or my beta version has a bug or something?!!

Apr 6, 2012I have downloaded iOS 5 from a seperate site, and frankly I just don't know what to do with it. I also have a first generation iPad which is running on 5.1 so I'm just not quite sure as to what is going on in my laptop (which is an Acer Aspire One netbook, and iTunes is running at 10.1 I think).
P.S. To be perfectly honest, I'm really wanting this to work now because I want to buy "Zombies, Run!" from the app store and its on sale until this Sunday, and it requires iOS 5.

Jun 21, 2012I have a windows computer and I plugged in my iphone 4 and itunes came up saying that there is an update. As I have read you need to have the lastest update in order for the software update to be 100% good. I did update and I waited till my iphone software updated. I clicked the download and update button but nothing has happened after that. So the real question is how do I install it because I didn't waste one gig for nothing and I am trying so many ways to update it but it wouldn't.

Aug 27, 2014I have an IPhone 5 that I got in the winter of 2012. It's running iOS 7.1.2. The past couple of months it has been connecting very slowly to Verizon's network (both 3G and LTE). No problem with WiFi. Eventually, I went to the Apple Store to have it examined. After inspection, the technician reset the network settings on the phone. It was fine for a while. Then in the past two weeks the phone remained stuck on 3G. It would not connect to LTE at all. I had Verizon replace the SIM card twice and reset the network settings. Each time the phone was able to connected to the LTE network fine. And then a few days later it dropped to 3G. Â

As mentioned in the title, phone shuts down by itself, edges of screen flicker upon restart. Basically renders phone useless because it shuts back down within minutes/seconds of restart!
It shuts down at any and all battery levels, but seems to be more prevalent when battery is lower than 60% or 70%.
However, everything's ok when charging! BUT it charges extremely slowly, like less than 5% in an hour w/o any use.
Everything seems ok in the morning after a night of charging too, but starts shutting itself down by midday.
Erased all content and settings once, but problem persists. I suspect its the battery?

I've run this 4 times now with the same results each time.
She's got an Apple bumper, I've got an iFrogz case.
She's got 4 bars.
I've got 2 bars.
They're literally sitting next to each other on a table.
I took my case off, no change.
Hers is also one minute faster than mine (both clocks set to auto)

(1) Can I go from 3.0 straight to 4?
(2) I have read serveral post and in these post I have read were they upgraded and they lost their pictures and data. In the same post I read were another person upgraded and did not lose any pictures or data. I also read on Apple's web site about upgrading and no place did I read any warning about losing any information.
Another thing I find strange is that these poster's are upgrading the same apple phone but yet they are doing different procedures. At the present my phone works great with no problems, I just don't want screw it up!

Mar 15, 2012I have a 3GS Factory Unlocked running on iOS 4.1.I went for 5.1 update for the device but it stopped with the following error message: "The iPhone could not be updated. An unknown error occured (11)." On clicking more information tab in the error message was directed to the following page: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1275 I had updated my iTunes to 10.6 prior to connecting the device. In DFU Mode, got the following message on connecting to iTunes; "iTunes has detected an iPhone in recovery mode. You must restore this iPhone before it can be used with iTunes." Got out of DFU Mode & the device rebooted to normal. On again updating the device got the same error message.
