BB Bold 9700 :: Which Supplier For Screen Protectors / LED Keypad ?
Aug 9, 2010
I am thinking about customizing my 9700 when I am able to afford it. Though if I do, I won't get a case gor it cause then you wouldn't be able to see it. At the very least, I would like some good screen protectors and a different colored LED keypad. Which supplier should I look at for these parts? I have read some bad stories about TrueSupplier so I am quite leary about them.
So i was about to order a replacement battery door but I'm not too sure who to order from... SW-Box? CNN.cn? Truesupplier? Any suggestions so I don't get stuck with a bad door or so I'm not waiting for 2 months for one. By the way. does CNN.cn prices include shipping?
could anyone recommend me a good privacy screen/ screen protector? i check vzw's website and a privacy screen is almost 15$! anything cheaper than that? like alot cheaper?
just picked up the Smartphone Experts screen protectors for my Bold, and wanted to share some pics so that others could get an idea of what they look like. Worth Noting - other than the little discrepancy on the top right corner, they do increase the 'grainyness' of the screen, which is particularly noticeable on screens with a lot of white. I'd say they are a so-so solution for keeping your screen scratch-free.
I have a problem with my Blackberry and would be grateful if anyone knows what the problem is.I have only my Blackberry 9700 bold for 1 month or so.I am unable to lock my keypad by using the lock key on top of the phone. This has happened before but after charging my phone it started to work again. I have turned my phone on and off, tried charging it and the button still doesn't work. Although the keypad will lock when I put it into the leather case.Do you think it is a problem with my blackberry and I should return it? Or is this a problem people have had before and if so, how do I fix it?
I have been looking hard (high and low) to purchase a few headphone jacks for my blackberry bold 9000s. It seems nobody has them in stock or even knows who makes them. Can anyone here help me find a suitable replacement supplier?
I have BOLD 9700 smartphone and i signed up for new service with AT&T 3 weeks ago, after that i realized that one of the key on the keypad is not functioning, i went to the store and he gave told me he is giving new phone as i am still in the One month policy. But my guess is he hasn't given me new phone instead he gave me a phone which is already used.Any body has idea how to find if the phone is used before or brand new?
My bold 9700 stopped working for no reason! The keypad stoped working all of a sudden. I cannot type in my pin, the trackpad doesn't function, the unclock button on top doesn't work and after a few seconds the screen goes black and the only way to bring the light back on is to either connect it to my laptop via USB which will show the clock and once the USB is removed I get the home screen but cannot do anything there again; or i have to remove the battery and reboot but again I would get the black acreen and the cycle would continue.
My email, text messages, missed calls, facebook notifications and all come thru alright and the red light flashes to indicate this and I get the little sign on top of home screen but cannot access anything as the keypad and the trackpad are both completely non-responsive.
I called my mobile from a landline but again i cannot accept the call as pressing the green call button or any other key for that matter doesn't work. I could access the device via the BB desktop software and have backedup and updated the firmware (i was using the most uptodate version untile now without any problems) . The phone has not gotten wet and hasn't been in any damp environment. I haven't got any dodgy apps or security issues for instance as aresult of opening sapm etc.
I'm a 1st time owner of a brand new 5800, this is my first experience with a touch screen phone and I was wondering since the screen is plastic and I absolutely hate scratches on my phones anywhere but especially on my screen, is there a way to put a screen protector on the screenof the phone and have the touch screen still work, will it be less sensitive or will it work at all?
customer calls to get another phone. Customer says he was working 25 feet in airand dropped phone on ground. Screen did not crack. Customer had premium screen protectoron phone.
I have had Blackberry for over 4 years and got so used to the keypad icon to lock and unlock by pressing *send and now I downloaded newest upgrade os>743 and now that icon and feature is gone and its pissing me off, anyone know if or how I can get it back. (If it ain't broken, why think to fix it)
Anybody know where I can get a replacement qwerty keypad for my 9700 with the red-numbers like the OEM and Rogers 9000 Bolds have? I loved it on my blacked out Bold...and really don't like the all white AT&T keypad. I've looked at Cnn.cn and TrueSupplier...and neither one of those sources have them.
Is there an "auto" keypad lock in the bold 9700? by that a mean can you set it to auto lock the keypad after a certain time of no use like the nokia and other phones, The only way I have found to lock the keypad is with the button on the top left.
I have a BB Bold 9700. My service provider is Telstra (Australia). And before you ask, no, a few battery pulls didn't fix my situation. My "4/S" button on my bold has turned super sensitive. if you breathe the wrong way - your text/screen will be filled will dozens of little "s" on the rampage. For example, if you type in the question "How are you today?" it will come up as, "ssshsow assrsse you tosssdssasssy?"As this is a hardware problem with my phone and as I am at the end of my contract, I am quite content to purchase a new phone.
However, due to the "s' button repeating like a bunny and my being half asleep when i checked my phone last night and accidently turning it OFF - I can not enter in my pin number nor my puk number into my phone. (the numbers come up as stars so I can't see which is the number I wish to enter over forty-seven thousand little 4s insinutating their way in.
Typing in the 4 numbers of my pin comes up as "********************"
Tying in the 8 numbers of my PUK comes up as "*******************************************************************"
The keyboard being broken is neither here nor there but I am explaing this to illustrate my dilemma.
(1) is it possible to somehow fiddle something so I can actually see the numbers instead of stars when I enter in my pin and puk code so I am able to delete the "4/s" when they occur and be able to open my phone and then do a backup or
(2) Is it possible to do a back up or unlock the phone using the computer while my phone is now asking for the PUK?
for some reason, when I try to add an appointment on sunday, I can't set the time using the keypad, when I try to get 1x it changes to 00:00 any ideas?
I found out how to lock the keypad on the 9700 after this new screwy update to the 9700.To lock keypad press and hold "A" for 1-2 seconds or push the "lock button" at top left edge of phone. To unlock the keypad go to the very top left corner ridge on the very top of the phone and press the "lock" button. Will take some getting used to but will prevent unwanted calls while holstered or in purse. The best way I found to lock keypad without a password.
I have someone from another forum claiming that using a screen protector will permanently affect the screen of the iPhone 4 were they to choose to remove it and go naked. Affecting it's "beauty" and "smoothness". Is this BS?
I read ebooks voraciously, it's very useful when in bed with the other half and he's trying to sleep, not to need a bedside light on.My problem occurs when using an ebook reader (currently Mobipocket - though please do enlighten me if you know of one better which will easily take books from the file offerings of the Gutenberg Project):
The keypad remains bright, much brighter than the screen (especially as I set the background to black and the text to mid-grey).I'd love to be able to toggle off the keypad backlight somehow.I've found a sort-of workaround, where I go to the Clock and set Bedside Mode, then switch application back to Mobipocket - the screen dims and the keyboard turns off...
BUT only until I use the optical pad to swipe to the next page, and the keypad lights come back on and blind me. They do fade out again but by this time I'm halfway down the new page and about to swipe again!Anyone? Keyboard backlight toggle? Is such a thing ever going to be possible or is this a well-flogged long-dead horse?
I'm a dedicated BB users and have been using many models over the years, but this is the first annoying problem i encounters with the 9700.i bought 2 tMo 9700 last week for me and my wife. when i got home, i updated the os of my 9700 to .586
the problem started when the battery level reach 40%. whenever i'm in a call or the bb in keypad lock mode, it suddenly shut off itself. and then i can't turned it on unless i plugged in the charger. but after it turned on, i can unplugged the charger and the bb would be normal until the battery reach 0%.
i thought i was a battery problem with my 9700, so i tried using my wife battery, and it was still the same problem coming out. so then i thought it was an OS problem, so i upgrade it to .593, and it still gave me the same problem. then i tried downgrade it to .578, and it still the same.then my guess was it was a faulty 9700. but i tried the software upgrade to my wife's BB and then she had the same problem as i am.
what's wrong with our 9700's? can anyone help us? i have been looking all over the internet but found no solution.we have the same apps installed beside add ons: ubertwitter, opera mini, google sync, googlemaps, foyage, blackcorpo theme.
I have always assigned my left convience key to lock my screen. After updating to 545 I have lost the option to even choose the keypad lock opt. Does neone know where this went? I updated with the official not the beta. Also I notice volume adjustments while on a call is not precise when lowering or raising.
If you apply a screen protector to the iphone screen then later decide to take it off can it remove abit of the oleophobic coating? If not then does the oleophobic coating wear off over time with normal use?
Took my storm1 into a corporate store to get my phone replaced for dust in the screen. Rep looks at my phone and says "well, thats why we try to sell you phone cases and screen protectors...we will NOT replace this for this reason." I asked her where in the manufacturers warranty it states my phone requires any protective devices. I didn't even want to argue the obvious point that a screen protector or a case wont prevent this. She just took it back and blew a can of air around the perimeter of the screen and said "sorry, but thats all I can do for you.
I am getting a Samsung Mythic and am looking at cheap cases on Amazon. I found one but am not sure if its a single piece real rubber case or a 2 piece plastic faceplate. Also, can anyone recommend a good pouch that clips onto your belt that fits this phone well? And screen protectors too? I've used one brand called Insten but it is impossible to tell which ones on Amazon are the Insten brand.
Just wondering if the Zaag Invisi ShieldHD screen protector just pulls off if no longer needed or wanted? I have one on my Electrify and would like to take it off.
The screen goes black after the backlight comes on but the light does not return. Everything is functioning like I get notifications, I receive calls and bbm's but the thing is I can't check them because the screen is black. There is static as well at the top but it it is black and blurry, sometimes I could see the name of the service provider as well as the battery icon. What would work sometimes is if I do a battery pull but that is rare. Also if I lock the screen then wait a while and then press any button between the end call and receive it would come back on. But that is becoming rare as well. The system on the phone is full functional but its the screen that stays black.Sometimes if I'm lucky it would go away and I would be able to use the screen. But when that happens I would have to constantly be pressing a button to keep the phone active so it does not go on backlight setting from inactivity. U can imagine how annoying that is huh?
I keypad lock my bold 9780 phone and the screen goes dark, as it should, and the keys are locked. Then after about 30 seconds the phone unlocks itself and the screen turns on.
