for some reason, when I try to add an appointment on sunday, I can't set the time using the keypad, when I try to get 1x it changes to 00:00 any ideas?

View 4 Replies View RelatedUsing Bold 9700 Ver # 6.0.0.461 Running updated version of Blackberry Desktop Manager 6.0.1 with Windows 7 and Outlook 2003 with SP3. Use agenda view for calendar, tried the "Show free time in Agenda View" but didn't like it so unclicked it and now, when I open my calendar; the current appts show for a couple of seconds, then it jumps to my last appts in 2014. If I check the free time box again and try to open my calendar it doesn't jump ahead. If I uncheck it again, it jumps ahead again. I've tried turning it off and taking the battery out but doesn't work. The local Telus store never heard of it before.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have a problem with my Blackberry and would be grateful if anyone knows what the problem is.I have only my Blackberry 9700 bold for 1 month or so.I am unable to lock my keypad by using the lock key on top of the phone. This has happened before but after charging my phone it started to work again. I have turned my phone on and off, tried charging it and the button still doesn't work. Although the keypad will lock when I put it into the leather case.Do you think it is a problem with my blackberry and I should return it? Or is this a problem people have had before and if so, how do I fix it?
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen syncing my BB to desktop Outlook calendar with new appointments by USB cable, the appointment time on the BB is exactly one hour later than when its scheduled in Outlook. So, an appt for 10:00 am on my desktop shows as 11:00 am on my BB. Its true whether the appt was entered on my BB or in Outlook calendar. I currently use Outlook 2007 on my desktop with Windows XP, have BB Curve 8530 Version 5.0 with Verizon and use BB desktop software version 6.1.0.35.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOn my iPhone I have, in my calendar, an appointment set everyday for the tablet I have to take at 8PM everyday.
But when I go to another time zone, like Paris where they are 1 hour ahead of me here in the UK, the appointment is still at 8PM, even though I know it should be at 9PM.

When I sync my BB Tour with my computer, it changes the time on my appointments, which is quite a problem! I've check both my BB and my computer and BOTH are correctly set to Central Time. I have not traveled out of my time zone and have not changed any properties on either device.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI would like to know if there is a way to avoid calendar appointment times changing when the time zone automatically updates. I would book theatre tickets in New York at 8pm and put that in my calendar. When my BB Curve updates the time to New York time from South African time, all my appointments also change by the 7 hour difference.
Is there a way of keeping the calendar entries at the entered time when the phone updates it's time zone. This also happens when updating the time manually on the phone.
I have BOLD 9700 smartphone and i signed up for new service with AT&T 3 weeks ago, after that i realized that one of the key on the keypad is not functioning, i went to the store and he gave told me he is giving new phone as i am still in the One month policy. But my guess is he hasn't given me new phone instead he gave me a phone which is already used.Any body has idea how to find if the phone is used before or brand new?
View 4 Replies View RelatedMy bold 9700 stopped working for no reason! The keypad stoped working all of a sudden. I cannot type in my pin, the trackpad doesn't function, the unclock button on top doesn't work and after a few seconds the screen goes black and the only way to bring the light back on is to either connect it to my laptop via USB which will show the clock and once the USB is removed I get the home screen but cannot do anything there again; or i have to remove the battery and reboot but again I would get the black acreen and the cycle would continue.
My email, text messages, missed calls, facebook notifications and all come thru alright and the red light flashes to indicate this and I get the little sign on top of home screen but cannot access anything as the keypad and the trackpad are both completely non-responsive.
I called my mobile from a landline but again i cannot accept the call as pressing the green call button or any other key for that matter doesn't work. I could access the device via the BB desktop software and have backedup and updated the firmware (i was using the most uptodate version untile now without any problems) . The phone has not gotten wet and hasn't been in any damp environment. I haven't got any dodgy apps or security issues for instance as aresult of opening sapm etc.
Is there a website to which you can point me to tell me what the icons are all about that appear on my screen from time to time. Latest one ;ooks like a click with a red asterix at about where the 1 would be and has a 2 to the left of the icon. A website to consult would be great.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have Outlook 2007 on my desktop computer and use BT as a service provider and for my email, my Blackberry supplier is Vodafone and I use BIS.I have noticed that if my Blackberry receives an email first I don't get the same email delivered to my desktop. If my desktop gets an email first then the same email will be delivered to my Blackberry. I was happily deleting emails from my Blackberry thinking I would have them all on my desktop but I now find I have to check what emails I have on each before I delete anything. Is this an issue that anyone has come acrosss before and how do I resolve it apart from synching the Blackberry and desktop?I'm often away from the desktop which is why I bought the Blackberry in the first place.

I loved it on my blacked out Bold...and really don't like the all white AT&T keypad. I've looked at Cnn.cn and TrueSupplier...and neither one of those sources have them.

And before you ask, no, a few battery pulls didn't fix my situation.My "4/S" button on my bold has turned super sensitive. if you breathe the wrong way - your text/screen will be filled will dozens of little "s" on the rampage. For example, if you type in the question "How are you today?" it will come up as, "ssshsow assrsse you tosssdssasssy?"As this is a hardware problem with my phone and as I am at the end of my contract, I am quite content to purchase a new phone.
However, due to the "s' button repeating like a bunny and my being half asleep when i checked my phone last night and accidently turning it OFF - I can not enter in my pin number nor my puk number into my phone. (the numbers come up as stars so I can't see which is the number I wish to enter over forty-seven thousand little 4s insinutating their way in.
Typing in the 4 numbers of my pin comes up as "********************"
Tying in the 8 numbers of my PUK comes up as "*******************************************************************"
The keyboard being broken is neither here nor there but I am explaing this to illustrate my dilemma.
(1) is it possible to somehow fiddle something so I can actually see the numbers instead of stars when I enter in my pin and puk code so I am able to delete the "4/s" when they occur and be able to open my phone and then do a backup or
(2) Is it possible to do a back up or unlock the phone using the computer while my phone is now asking for the PUK?
Do we still need to do a Batterie pull from time to time. I ve installed os .421 and since 15 days i haven t done a pull. I only past from 133MB to 131MB so the memory loss won t even be noticed compared to back in the days with the 9000.So my question is do we still need these apps like quick pull etc which i installed to my old 9000.How often should we do a pull every week? Every month?

At the very least, I would like some good screen protectors and a different colored LED keypad. Which supplier should I look at for these parts? I have read some bad stories about TrueSupplier so I am quite leary about them.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI found out how to lock the keypad on the 9700 after this new screwy update to the 9700.To lock keypad press and hold "A" for 1-2 seconds or push the "lock button" at top left edge of phone.To unlock the keypad go to the very top left corner ridge on the very top of the phone and press the "lock" button.Will take some getting used to but will prevent unwanted calls while holstered or in purse.The best way I found to lock keypad without a password.

The keypad remains bright, much brighter than the screen (especially as I set the background to black and the text to mid-grey).I'd love to be able to toggle off the keypad backlight somehow.I've found a sort-of workaround, where I go to the Clock and set Bedside Mode, then switch application back to Mobipocket - the screen dims and the keyboard turns off...
BUT only until I use the optical pad to swipe to the next page, and the keypad lights come back on and blind me. They do fade out again but by this time I'm halfway down the new page and about to swipe again!Anyone? Keyboard backlight toggle? I'm a dedicated BB users and have been using many models over the years, but this is the first annoying problem i encounters with the 9700.i bought 2 tMo 9700 last week for me and my wife. when i got home, i updated the os of my 9700 to .586
the problem started when the battery level reach 40%. whenever i'm in a call or the bb in keypad lock mode, it suddenly shut off itself. and then i can't turned it on unless i plugged in the charger. but after it turned on, i can unplugged the charger and the bb would be normal until the battery reach 0%.
i thought i was a battery problem with my 9700, so i tried using my wife battery, and it was still the same problem coming out. so then i thought it was an OS problem, so i upgrade it to .593, and it still gave me the same problem. then i tried downgrade it to .578, and it still the same.then my guess was it was a faulty 9700. but i tried the software upgrade to my wife's BB and then she had the same problem as i am.
what's wrong with our 9700's? can anyone help us? i have been looking all over the internet but found no solution.we have the same apps installed beside add ons: ubertwitter, opera mini, google sync, googlemaps,foyage, blackcorpo theme.
I have always assigned my left convience key to lock my screen. After updating to 545 I have lost the option to even choose the keypad lock opt. Does neone know where this went? I updated with the official not the beta. Also I notice volume adjustments while on a call is not precise when lowering or raising.

What profile settings should i use just to get the darn thing to ring for 20 secs - both in and out of its holster? (I have tried the code to extend the time to 30 secs but it does not seem to work with Orange UK).
I just want the phone to ring like a phone without LEDS, vibration etc. At the moment, I need the hearing of a 5 year old and the strength of a 20 year old to get to my phone before it trips over to answerphone.I am on OS593 and I have tried battery pulls etc. I am also using a ringtune rather than Classic Ring.
I live in South Africa. I do not find a South African time zone in the list. If I use another city in the +2-hour time zone, my clock time is 1 hour fast. Does it matter to the other applications if a different time zone is selected? Can one perhaps download an augmented time zone list?

View 13 Replies View RelatedI upgraded to OS .656 last night, and it somehow messed up my phone and made it to where I had no Wi-Fi connectivity unless I turned the phone's cellular radio off and forced it to use Wi-Fi. Otherwise, it would just use it's painfully slow EDGE network.
I downgraded back to .593, and all seems fine. It connects and the Wi-Fi logo goes from gray to white, as it should. But that process (connecting and the logo turning white, indicating connection) takes about a minute. The network's name will show up, the Wi-Fi logo will show up (in gray), and then after about a minute it turns white and I'm connected.
When I saw the AT&T commercial about a guy who talks on his phone while he surfs the web at the same, I thought 'let me try that on my 9700'. So right now as I type these, I'm actually streaming podcast, have my buddy on the other line, and here typing this. AT&T claims that Verizon, which their direct competitor here in the states, can't do any of these talking while surfing web. I have been a T-mobile customer for 4 years now and for the past 2 years I have been talking and surfing at the same time without a problem. I thought depends on the phone as well whether it can do this or not, not the network.

After a while in that conversation it will start to not work, it will move around bits of text from conversation, it wont let me scroll through messages, then is slow to send, if I leave conversation it wont let me get back into it. Is there something I have done wrong, or do I just need to go and delete text ever little bit?
