Sony Ericsson :: Vivaz Screen Blacking Out
Aug 20, 2010I don't know whether this problem is with the phone itself or whether this is a common problem, the screen goes black when left for a minute and when i try to unlock it i can't do anything at all, it doesnt even come up with the option to unlock the screen it just stays blank.I can receive calls when its black by pressing the green call button but i cannot look who it is or who is texting me. i have only had this phone for 4 days.

Jul 15, 2010i have just purchased this phone and need a bit. i know you can alter your home screen via settings, personal, themes and then standby theme to different types but i really like the orange theme. BUT on the home screen there are lots of boxes for different things, can i alter these i.e remove them. i know how to add them but don't seem to be able to remove them . hope that all makes sense.

Nov 2, 2010I'm unable to unlock my phone (vivaz pro) using touch. I have to slide the display to unlock the phone. when i unlock the phone Menu items are automatically selected(some times sends a message to a contact some times calls a contact) without my intervention. I thought it as software problem and updated my vivaz pro via software update but to no use. Its behaving the same.I have set default settings in the phone settings. It has change all icons(shapes and colors) but phone's condition is same. Can any one please advise what should i do?

Sep 13, 2010I ordered my Vivaz last Saturday and received it in my local store on tuesday. It is now Sunday, five days later, and the touchscreen is completely not working. I was looking at a google map one minute, locked the phone and put it down, then I received a text and couldn't unlock the phone to read it. i now have three texts sitting on my phone and I can't access them. I've just come on a week's holiday with my children but my husband is still home, and I need to be able to contact him! I only have a quarter battery left on my laptop and I'm coming to my wits end - how do I keep in touch with my husband while I'm on holiday? We're only in Devon! I need to know either what I can do to the phone to get it working (tried removing battery several times but no effect) or can I go to the nearest vodafone store and get a replacement in store? I can't take it in to my local store until next Monday, although I will be working then so it's not that easy to get into town. HELP!!! I need a phone right now, and this is so not funny, and I'm not impressed.

Nov 22, 2010I brought my Vivaz a while ago. The display somehow had a loose connection so it went back to the shop. A while later I got it back, but it started to do this annoying thing, not turning on and it went very slow, but I assume thats because the memory card was almost full. Well, now when I want to turn it on, the white "sony ericsson" screen comes up and a little vibration, and nothing more. When I set it to charge, the red light and the "sony ericsson" screen comes, but after a while I still cant turn it on. When I set it to my computer nothing happens but it "charges" again and the little charge icon never comes up when it charges either. Just the screen I have mentioned and the little red light in the side of the phone.

Jul 2, 2010My Sony Vivaz was working properly and then suddendly applications stopped working. Then I noticed the applications I had installed in the memory card are not longer displayed on the screen, and when I try to take a photo it says there is no memory card and that they will be stored in the phone's memory. Additionally, when I try to reinstall the applications I always get the message File error. What is happening to my phone? How can I fix all these problems?

Nov 14, 2010I bought an Elm just the other week and so far I've been very happy with it. This evening though, I tried to take some photos whilst out and the phone crashed twice for no obvious reason whilst trying to take a photo or shortly afterwards. What is going on? I've verified that the software is the most up to date version.
I've tried to repair the phone via the Sony Ericsson repair link. Apart from losing all photos and music it does seem to be okay now. Have I fixed the problem? I'm very disappointed. My previous K770i had similar problems in that it used to crash regularly, so it was with some trepidation I got another Sony Ericsson.

Jun 14, 2010Had my vivaz a month or so now supplied by 3, it came with some demos already installed on the phone, i went to try tetris but instead of offering to let me play it i had to buy it. Anyway i bought the game from my phone and when i go to play, the bottom half of the screen is filled with a cursor interface (with up down left right buttons then A B C D along the bottom) and the top half is tetris.... when i start the game i get asked if i want sound enabled but cant see the yes or no options beacuse of the interface blocking bottom half of phone (no matter what, all i can do is continue with the sound on which is annoying!) then i get a option to play game, i press random buttons and then the game starts.... i cant move the blocks left or right and i cant see where they are landing. Can you remove the cursor interface on the vivaz? Dont want to buy anymore games unless i get this same problem.

Sep 2, 2010Today, I got a replacement for my Vivaz because it had broken and couldn't be fixed. When I put my memory card in which I used in my old vivaz, it still says there is no music, photos or videos. Although when I have put my memory card in different phones to check it hasn't been wiped or something, my stuff comes up. Just not when my memory card is in this new phone. When I remove my memory card it says "Unsafe to remove memory card without selecting remove memory card first."Is this some kind of setting, and is this whats causing the problem?
