View 10 RepliesI'm not sure if YouTube got updated but I used to be able to listen to videos in the background without having to be in the YouTube app but as of today I can no longer do that. Did you YouTube removed this feature?

View 8 Replies View RelatedIf I am listening to the music from youtube app or the browser it plays fine until I minimize them (put on background) or lock my phone. Then music stops playing. I looked in the settings all over the phone how to make it to continue playing but couldn't find anything. Also is there a way to pull volume stop/play control on the lock screen?. I miss this feature as I had it on my iphone 6 and also on the iphone music continues playing regardless if apps are on a background or screen is locked.

View 6 Replies View RelatedThe feature to enable background play is gone in the setting menu. I don't know why I've tried everything except reformatting my phone. It's starting to get annoying. I thought it might just be a glitch that Google is trying to fix but its been this way for a month. I've tried uninstalling YouTube I've wiped everything I could and its still like this. P
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have noticed an issue with the Galaxy S5 that apparently only occurs with the Verizon variant. I work for a place called Wireless Advocates, we are the cell phone kiosk inside of Costco. I'm asking about this because I've had three customers come in to ask about this background data issue.
I'm not sure what triggers this issue but when I try opening up google play I get the "Background Data Disabled : Google Play Store Needs background data to be Enabled" error. It then gives you the ability to either quit or enable the data. If you press enable it takes you to the account screen in settings.
When I go to Data usage the option to "restrict background data" is greyed out. You can't even select it and it isn't checkmarked either. Just to clarify, accessing the internet and other things on the phone work perfectly fine. It's just the use of Google Play that is having issues. I called Samsung customer care and they aren't aware of this issue at all. Also note that force stopping google play, play services, removing the google accounts and adding them back and rebooting the phone haven't solved it. After the reboot the phone will appear fine and then a box that says "Restricting background data".
So a few days ago I disabled the YouTube app because it was extremely slow. I also cleared the data and cache and uninstalled all of the previous updates. And when I enabled it back on and tried to update the app over the Play Store it gave me this weird error telling me that it cannot install the update. So I went to the troubleshooting site and tried evrything that was suggested but none of it worked. My phone is not rooted.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThumbnails are working, everything is loading fast, its just that the video wont load. All my other apps work perfectly. It will just stay at the black screen with the circle in the middle.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis happens without me even using the app. In fact I think it only happens when I'm not using the app. Is this a know issue with the app and the S6? I'm on AT&T carrier.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI am wondering why my youtube app wont update for the last 2 weeks ... it keeps giving me error 501 and saying youtube cant be installed. Tried disabling , clearing all android stuff , and uninstalling , and nothing seem to work. Also one more problem with the camera video sound.
Every video i make , will only give output through one earbud when i plug them in. Its only with the video recording. Rest works perfectly fine , even the voice recorder.
just got my brand new S5 yesterday (at&t) and I notice all YouTube videos are 720p only?I'm using wifi by the way. Is this normal?
View 4 Replies View RelatedOn my samsung galaxy 5 phone and on galaxy tabs, Youtube use to have a little icon representing the tv that if you pressed it, could transmit it to my vizio tv. Within the past month or 2, that has disappeared. Is this something that has changed with a recent youtube app update or samsung firmware update.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've only had my GS5 for a month and so this is my first time trying to upload my videos to YouTube. And it's not working.
I am in the gallery, on the video I want to upload, I tap on the share symbol, I select YouTube and then write a title, description and choose options. I then hit the upload symbol. It then goes to my list of uploads and shows the video I'm trying to upload at the top, but when I tap on it, nothing. When I tap on the 3 dots to the right of the thumbnail, it gives me the option to cancel download. But it's not really doing anything! I let it sit like that for over 5 minutes and nothing changes.
I've also tried doing it the opposite way and tapping on the upload option in YouTube, but that does not even give me an option to upload from my gallery which is super weird. It only allows me to choose from downloads.
I have a new T-Mobile S6 Edge and love the phone, but one thing I have not figured out is why I still get background mobile data usage even though I have disabled mobile data and set "restrict background data". Both tuiService and OS services are downloading approximately 100K at a time periodically over mobile data throughout the day even though I have a wifi connection.
View 3 Replies View RelatedAs you all know the recent s6 update for Verizon includes youtube live stream. I was happy to hear this and couldn't wait to try it out. Well once you click on the live stream icon in the camera it asks you to sign into youtube, which I do and then the darn youtube window/app comes up on the camera and it prevents you from starting the live stream. How do you close out the youtube window once you sign in for the live stream on the camera app?
View 4 Replies View RelatedThey just open another browser window for the mobile site.
I've reset the defaults for both applications and nothing changes.
I get a YouTube video in my news feed and when I click on it, it opens and tries to use the system video player to play the video. Which has a cappy resolution. It doesn't give me an option to open with YouTube like my old note2 did.
View 2 Replies View Relatedwhen I go to YouTube or play a video in a website , this show up
"There was a problem while playing. Touch to retry" ....
Having problems with the Youtube app? It just keeps giving me the loading circle.
I have tried clearing the cache, restored back to factory version, restarting phone - nothing.
I just got my S5 yesterday. When viewing a video in YouTube, the video will ALWAYS hang at 30 second intervals (not exact, but close). Pull up any video, hit play, everything is fine and stutter-free, but then at 30 seconds the video freezes (audio continues). If I move the timeline position cursor, the video continues again, but will freeze up again after another 30 seconds. It does this every time without fail.
The specific solutions (the few that seem to work for the person posting) don't apply to the S5).
My Samsung Galaxy s6 randomly pause YouTube videos Both YouTube application and chrome browser.

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to upload a video to Youtube from my Samsung s6 it doesn't work! I get Upload Pending. Nothing happens!
The same thing happens when I try to upload a video on Youtube from my computer. These are relatively small files - 10 - 15 minutes each!
At least when I upload videos from my computer it starts uploading very slowly, says it will take 2-3 hours, and stops at 16%.
So i recently found out how to change the video quality on youtube... but is there anyway to make a default setting for it? Rather than having to change the setting on every video...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI listen to a great deal of podcasts, audiobooks and music on youtube. Oftentimes I want to work and listen at the same time, so I will put my phone in my jacket/pants/table while I work, but sometimes I will bump the screen while working and it stops the YouTube video or makes it jump ahead/back.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI noticed recently there was a youtube update. I'm seeing whenever I reboot or turn on my phone that the youtube app automatically starts up. It shows on my active apps widget. But it does not physically start up in a window though. If I go to the running apps screen in the application manager, it says that youtube is running the offlinefiletransfer service.
Is there anyway to disable this?
Is there anyway to get Chrome to play a YouTube link in the YouTube app?
Because every time I'm in Chrome and click on a YouTube link, it will play the link in Chrome itself.
As opposed to Firefox. When I click a YouTube link in Firefox, it does what I want, it opens up the YouTube app and plays the video there.
I already tried Settings>Default Applications> and cleared all that. It didn't change anything.
I have you tube version 5.5.27 on my phone. When it updates to the new version it's not in sync when it plays any video.
