When I plug my iphone into a usb-hub it won't charge when the hub is only powered byn AC power supply. The usb-hub can also be powered by plugging it into the usb-connector of a laptop. When I do that, the iphone charges.
I already hooked up the usb-hub to a DC regulated power supply unit which can deliver 5 A. The current into the hub goes up to 1.6 A but the iphone doesn't charge.

My Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 won't charge, and I can see I'm not the only one struggling with this! My problem was at first that my phone only would charge when it was connected to the computer with the usb. I bought a new charger but my phone wouldn't charge then either. So now I'm desperate to a solution, because now it doesn't charge when it's connected to the computer either.

View 8 Replies View RelatedIf my Atrix 2 dies and I use to USB cable to connect it to my laptop, it will not charge or turn on. The notification light turns white and stays constant. If I plug it into the wall it charges so I know the phone is not broken. I have tried holding down the power button, power ad volume down, power and volume up, power and camera....If I plug it in while still alive and choose the USB function as "charge only" it will charge, but no other time. Does it always have to be "charge only"? I cannot charge and look at files at the same time?

View 4 Replies View Relatedi have collected probably 15 different chargers the last couple of years that I use at various locations to charge my Blackberry, iPhone, and a couple of Samsung Google Nexus Phones. That is every device other than the BlackBerry Bold 9900 and the Torch before that. I get the familiar message "the charging source connected to your blackberry device cannot charge your battery", except when connected to RIM manufactured charger or fortunately the USB port on my laptop. How in the world can every phone other than RIM's Blackberry take a charge from the various power sources without problem. I had the problem to some degree on the Torch, but figured RIM would catch on and get it fixed. Now I have the new Bold 9900 and it does not even work on my trusted 12V car charger. If 4 or 5 different devices work with multiple chargers and the Bold 9900 does not work on any it has to be a RIM and BLACKBERRY problem.Maybe the guys in Waterloo are just totally insulated from the rest of the world and only own BlackBerry phones with Blackberry chargers and believe there is not a problem. At least it appear that way with this charger issue and several other issues, but I won't get deeper into that here?
View 4 Replies View RelatedSometimes when I need to reboot/reset my i760 (Winmob 6.1, Spb Shell) it will not finish the boot cycle. I turn it on, I get the Samsung logo, the dark blue static Verizon wireless screen, then it about a half a second into the next screen (where the Verizon wireless logo "floats" down to a light blue screen) the system powers off. You can just see the red check in the logo start to draw and head down and the system just goes off.I thought I had solved it by pulling the battery for about 30 seconds, but now that doesn't fix the problem anymore. The only way to make the phone power on is to connect it to a power source (charger or cradle). Then it powers on normally.It does not matter the charge on the battery at the moment - I've had it do it any charge level, including 100% just off a overnight charge. This battery will normally last me 2 days of hard use.Any ideas?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI bought this phone off a friend. Its three months old and works great. But the other night I accidentally put the magnetic port on backwards and the phone completely died. I freaked out and tried every key combination possible. I eventually got a red led when I plugged in the microusb port. It turned on in about 10 minutes like normal.
Now, when ever I attach the magnetic cord (properly) I get an orange led blinking and the device doesn't charge at all. What does the blinking orange led mean? Does warranty cover the magnetic port?
I updated my Bold 9700 OS to 5.0.0.862 about 2 weeks ago. Everything was working fine up until Saturday, charging 1 minute then the next nothing, tried wall charger, car charger and also through the computer...nothing . This is the message the phone displays "The charging source connected to your Blackberry device cannot charge your battery."
The lightning icon is there but the battery level does not increase.I cant downgrade the OS since the computer doesnot recognize the device, I constantly get an error message. "Usb device has malfunctioned."
As of this morning, my phone no longer charges using the supplied Samsung charger. Additionally, when I UNPLUG the cable from my computer or the wall, I receive a notification saying "The dock is connected" which is obviously odd as I have actually just disconnected the cabling. Along with this message, the docking audible is heard when plugging in the charger on either the computer or the wall.
When I plug into my computer, the phone is no longer recognized as a USB device either which makes it difficult to back anything up at this point.
I do not have the lighting bolt or any blinking LED's while the charging cable is plugged in.
So far I have done the following to troubleshoot
- tried different cable on both the computer and wall
- power cycled the phone multiple times
- checked for system updates. I am up to date.
- cleaned / blown out the charging port
- cleared system cache
I have not yet done a factory reset for obvious (last resort) reasons.

My iPhone is on the Bell network, along with 3 other iPhones in my household. We have WiFi and the phone indicate that they are connected to the WiFi when we are in the house. However, my bill from Bell indicates several instances where the phones (all 4 at different times) are connected to the 3G network for 24+ hours at a time. Additionally, it shows the phone connected twice during that time period (as though there were 2 different sessions at exactly the same time, but with differing amount of data connected)
The explaination that Bell gives me is that there are 'minimized' applications still working on 3G even though the phone says it is on WiFi, and that each of these opens its own 'connection'My understanding of cell technology is that the phone can only access one method of Internet connectivity at a time, and that it can be explained as a 'pipe' or 'straw' carrying connectivity and all of the data. I have never heard of a phone that can access two different types at the same time, nor one that uses separate 'sessions' at the same time of either type of connectivity.
I would assume that I turn on my phone in the morning and I am in my house, it indicates WiFi, so I can browse the web, collect my email and update my Facebook on that 'session' that lasts 4 hours until I leave the house. Now my 3G kicks in and the email that I still have open now collects through the opened 3G session, as well as the page I left open downloading something.When I get to work and enter my WiFi area there, the session would then collect my email through WiFi again, and my download as well.

I just picked up two new nokia icons off ebay.. it was listed as new at least.. came in a box etc..
If i plug it in to charge.. it charges at about 1% per hour if that.. turn the screen on and it drops several percent,. use it unplugged and it rapidly discharges maybe 15% or more in a very short period of time.
Im guessing i got a bad batch?
Its very odd that both phones exhibit the same behavior.. and just for kicks i left 8.1 on one and put 10 on the other.
I have a Bold 9000 and it is draining the battery very quickly doesnt even last a few hours with a couple of calls and when its flat will only charge if I take out the battery and put in on a universal charger it wont charge with the blackberry mains charger, car charger or usb connection.I have bought two new batteries and all the same thing, turned off all applications I can see.The phone was bought new from an ebay seller in December and I cant get any response now from them and they are no longer on ebay.I have seen something about updating the system.

I then went to move my phone plus charger upstairs so i could charge it overnight, plugged it in with the same charger it worked with earlier and no sign of charging. I can't get my iPhone 5s to connect to my MBA. The iPhone connects to other Macs no problem (when I plug it in to the Macs at work, it connects fine). I have tried different USB cables. I have tried different USB ports. I have reinstalled iTunes. I've reset my iPhone and restarted my Mac. All other devices (USB drives) connect via USB without a problem.Â
Other iPhones connect to iTunes on my MBA without a problem.Â
It will charge via USB - but it won't show up in iTunes.Â
In the past, it has been able to see the iPhone but it has been very intermittent and I can't seem to work out any pattern to when it connects and when it doesn't.Â
Aperture and iPhoto also can't see my iPhone.Â

I am still getting used to using the search function on this forum. I have not found out how to search a particular thread yet.Anyway... is there a way to keep the iPhone's WiFi connected when locked? I get practically zero signal from ATT in my building so my phone's only communication is done over our wireless. Well, when my phone locks, the WiFi disconnects basically crippling the PUSH feature of Exchange email. It is spectacularly aggravating when emails dont show up on the phone within a few minutes of arriving in my Inbox and even more aggravating when I am not at my desk and an important email comes through. I have not found a way to do so, so I turn to the all knowing people here.
