Jan 28, 2012Up until two days ago I could connect without any problems to my home wireless connection however now every time I try it says it failed to require an IP address. I have tried rebooting it and the other tricks that usually work such as turning on and off the connections but nothing is working.

Jan 30, 2014I've had a Lumia 1020 for a while. I've been connecting it to a Win7 desktop to offload pictures at work, and I connect it to a Win8.1 desktop at home. Today, I plug in my 1020 to my Win7 machine and it doesn't show up in Windows Explorer. I reboot the machine, still won't show up. I go to devices and printers in control panel and I delete the driver, replug in my phone, and upon discovery, it's now trying to install a Lumia 909, which fails, BTW... So I can't offload picts to my Win7 box. I need to try it with my Win8.1 machine.

Feb 11, 2010After upgrading my 5800XM to v40 and upgrading to the latest PC suite and software updater versions on my PC, my phone no longer connects with the computer with the error message "cannot authenticate phone" with bluetooth. If I try USB connection, the OS crashes while trying to install phone software (windows 7 pro, Dell Inspiron 6400). I have uninstalled and re-installed all nokia software on the PC and still got the same results. Even without PC suite, the phone does not connect through the PC bluetooth anymore.

My iPhone doesn't charge, it shows that it's coneccted, but instead of the lightening bolt it shows the plug in. That is what it shows. I've tried restoring it, backing up, restoring as a new iphone, changing chargers, even batteries. Nothing has worked.

IPhone :: 4 Will Not Charge - It Connects, But Then Disconnects
Jun 25, 2012iPhone 4 8gb/White. Purchased November 2011, AT&T.Plug in the 30-pin connector, and USB to PC: it will chirp, but then stop. This same PC/USB connector supports 2 other iPods (4th gen) and a iPhone 4S (granted, not all are plugged in together, but one at a time!), and the White iPhone 4 is the only one with the issue. Tried on another PC, USB plugged directly in, no hubs, no extensions, again, a cable that is tried and true and works on other iOS devices. SAME problem. Chirp-on, then disconnect after 1 second. Does this repeatedly 3 or 4 times in a row, then gives up for a while.
Tried with straight USB AC power cube - same result. Tried a different USB AC power cube - same result. I have tried to power the phone off and charge it with the power off, but when the port wakes back up, it turns the phone back on. I managed to keep enough charge in the phone to update it from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1. Also did a "reset all settings" - and the problem persists.
I have NOT yet done an erase all settings (is it necessary?) or restore, but mostly because the port won't stay connected long enough to do so. This phone has NO liquid sensors tripped, does not have a lot of use on it, only has 17 total hours usage on cellular usage. I have an appointment at the Apple store tomorrow. Is there something I should try in the meantime?

Facetime Says Connecting But Never Connects On IPhone 5?
Jun 2, 2014I have iPhone 5 and all other members on plan have iPhone4. I still cannot connect to FaceTime with anyone except my iTouch (under a different Apple ID) and have done ALL of the updates, trouble shooting, and followed every step to anything related to FaceTime the Apple Community suggested. I am at a loss as to what the problem could be...it says it is connecting but it never does and I have to end the call to get it to stop. They all can connect and FaceTime to each other but not to me or from me. I am running the latest iOS system, latest update on all Apps, checked restrictions, push notifications, you name it.

Apr 22, 2012As of this morning, everytime I connect my phone to my computer it rapidly connects and disconnects. After searching the web far and wide I've only come up with dead ends. Before today it worked fine, I don't think it's the cord because it works when i tried it with another computer and works when I charge my phone with the wall charger (which I'm forced to do now). Error messages have popped up like 0xE8000001 and 0XE8000065.

Jun 5, 2014I am able to connect to my wifi and it shows with both a check mark and the wireless bars in the top right of my phone that I am connected to wifi but when I try to refresh apps using the internet or pull up the internet browser it says I have no internet connection. I have a tablet the connects to the same network with out any problems and has full internet access so it's something with my phone. I have tried forgetting the network and reconnecting along with resetting my network settings. nothing seems to be working.

It's able to detect it and the signal is strong but it won't connect. I'm able to connect to Wifi everywhere else (at the library, my friend's house..etc). What did she do to turn this off and how can we turn it back on again?

I've contacted Nokia support twice but haven't heard anything back.When I connect it up, a Windows pop-up from the system tray appears saying "This device will perform faster if plugged into a USB 2.0 slot". File transfers to and from the device are extremely slow.
I've checked out my motherboard, and it only has USB 2.0 slots. I tried them all anyway, and besides, my iPod and other USB devices such as data sticks connect to USB 2.0 no problem at all, using these very same ports.I've tried on a friend's computer, and without having to install anything, the phone instantly popped up, USB 2.0 mode, no problem. What's wrong with my computer? What a I missing? Any suggestions?

I've upgraded my X10i to 2.3.3 Gingerbread recently. I've also installed various programs after that. Wireless was working fine till suddenly applications using the net ceased to connect or download over wireless. Mobile connection works ok but when I switch to wireless, net activity stops. I didn't change any setting on my modem (US Robotics). I also have an Android Pad which can connect through the same modem without any problem, also my wifes laptop doesn't have problems connecting. Then I tweaked further and discovered that my X10i can't resolve domains into IPs. When I use the website's IP to connect everything is fine. I can browse or download within the same website that I connected with its IP but if I try a link to somewhere else or try with the domain name the phone gets stuck trying to connect (surely at the domain resolving state). My local support told me either to use repair on PC Companion or change the modem settings to Wep (it's wpa/wpa2-psk currently) but I want to do neither cuz I can't change every modems setting I come across nor reset the firmware everytime with all my program installed gone to trash. There must be a clear solution, more likely a setting somewhere.
And that's exactly the same problem I have, I can browse when connected with IP addresses but not with domain names. Although my x10 is also upgraded to 2.3, I don't think that's a 2.3 problem. I too think that's a setting problem somewhere.
