I ordered my Xoom from amazon.com, and exactly one day after their 30 day return period my tablet awakened showing only vertical lines. I am able to do a forced power-up (Volume up, power) but all you can see is the tablet going through the appropriately-colored start sequence, complete with the pulsating blue and purple honeycomb sequence - but with only somewhat compressed vertical lines. You can't really see where anything is on the screen, which has made it impossible to really acheive a factory reset start sequence. I've tried searching for this problem and haven't found it anywhere. I was wondering if anyone else had seen this.
Motorola suggested checking with place of purchase for return/exchange policy and/or returning the tablet to them. Mainly I'm curious if any others have experienced this and to let anyone who is know that they aren't the only one.
I love my Xoom, and after only 36hrs without it I am already missing it. Not looking forward to another couple of weeks.
I have two Motorola Photon 4G phones for about a month. One of them started to show 10 vertical darker lines about 1mm wide separated by lighter bands about 4 mm wide. They are visible with the display off and on. I attach a part of a photo of the screen when the phone was off.

View 1 Replies View Relateda couple of days ago,i began to realize that there were moving vertical lines across the screen.the lines are most visible when my light sensor(intensity) settings is set at 75%. it only came to my attention when i hard resetted my phone 2 days ago and the intensity settings was reverted to its default 75%(i've kept it customized at 25% until 2 days ago).the moving vertical lines are less visible in darker backgrounds and at a lower light intensity.i was just wondering-is this normal?
View 5 Replies View Relatedand it won't go away. the phone still works, as I am able to receive and send calls. I can press buttons and see changes on the screen, but all i get are vertical lines. Sometimes when I hit the phone a few times and press the lock button, it would go back to normal, but then it will return. Is the LCD display broken? I've opened the BB to see if it was loose, it is not. I've taken battery out and re-inserted to no avail.

I'd honestly say they resemble some kind of light burn in if I didn't know better. They are quite faint and unobtrusive but I get distracted by it. Is this normal for a LCD TFT screen?

I was just lying in my bed playing a game on my phone when all of the sudden my phone appeared to have these weird looking lines on it. I did absolutely nothing in order to have these appear. I tried to restart my phone but it only made it worse. I cant do anything but it keeps making noises when I get notifications and stuff like that still.

I've pressed quite many times a button accidentally just because my finger touched the screen for a very short time at wrong place. The display is so sensitive that it registers even the smallest touches. There should be an option to change the sensitiveness. For example the click event could be generated after the button is pressed 100 ms. This should prevent unwanted clicks.

View 19 Replies View RelatedWondering if anyone else has experienced 5-10 thin blue lines/streaks in their display (red on a black background). I first noticed the issue when using my Kindle app a few months ago. Eventually they disappeared but now they've returned. It has been several days and like last time, don't go away with a device reboot or reset.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy I phone 4 has 4 purple stripes taking up the whole of the screen. This has happened before ( around 2 weeks ago ). I tried powering down and resetting. The phone had plenty of charge on each occasion that this fault appeared. When it happened previously I left it at home for a week whilst I was away on holiday and when I returned the battery had completely discharged itself. I plugged in the charger and switched the phone on and the fault disappeared so I'm hoping the same happens again.

My iPhone 5s touch screen has a problem where it can be hyper sensitive.
In certain screens like iMessage, when I tap lightly in one area, the screen will continually to scroll upwards even when I am NOT doing the swiping up motion.Â
Sometimes worse is when I tap on a message to try to read it, it automatically swipe left on the message thread and delete the whole message thread and that is very frustrating and means I lose entire conversations. Â
OTher times, when I am typing out a message or email, the cursor for the next character jumps to the middle of the last typed sentence even if I did not do it.Â
Again, just to summarize, without my wanting it, my touch screen creed with one tap sometimes makes the phone scrolls upwards or leftwards on message threads automatically.
