I have two Motorola Photon 4G phones for about a month. One of them started to show 10 vertical darker lines about 1mm wide separated by lighter bands about 4 mm wide. They are visible with the display off and on. I attach a part of a photo of the screen when the phone was off.
View 10 RepliesI ordered my Xoom from amazon.com, and exactly one day after their 30 day return period my tablet awakened showing only vertical lines. I am able to do a forced power-up (Volume up, power) but all you can see is the tablet going through the appropriately-colored start sequence, complete with the pulsating blue and purple honeycomb sequence - but with only somewhat compressed vertical lines. You can't really see where anything is on the screen, which has made it impossible to really acheive a factory reset start sequence. I've tried searching for this problem and haven't found it anywhere. I was wondering if anyone else had seen this.
Motorola suggested checking with place of purchase for return/exchange policy and/or returning the tablet to them. Mainly I'm curious if any others have experienced this and to let anyone who is know that they aren't the only one.
I love my Xoom, and after only 36hrs without it I am already missing it. Not looking forward to another couple of weeks.
I get vertical lines on my iPhone 5s display and screen is not sensitive at that moment. I have to switch off phone to make it work again.

a couple of days ago,i began to realize that there were moving vertical lines across the screen.the lines are most visible when my light sensor(intensity) settings is set at 75%. it only came to my attention when i hard resetted my phone 2 days ago and the intensity settings was reverted to its default 75%(i've kept it customized at 25% until 2 days ago).the moving vertical lines are less visible in darker backgrounds and at a lower light intensity.i was just wondering-is this normal?

Sometimes when I hit the phone a few times and press the lock button, it would go back to normal, but then it will return. Is the LCD display broken? I've opened the BB to see if it was loose, it is not. I've taken battery out and re-inserted to no avail.

I'd honestly say they resemble some kind of light burn in if I didn't know better. They are quite faint and unobtrusive but I get distracted by it. Is this normal for a LCD TFT screen?

I have LG G3 and I cracked the screen so I bought a new one from ebay, then when I got it, I've installed it perfectly but when I open it white vertical lines appear, when I double tap the screen it closes and when i open it again it works perfect for 1 second and then colors start to fade and vertical lines again appear.

Any way to decouple the display timeout from the screen lock? In other words, when the display times out after 30 secs., I would like to just touch the display to wake it up rather than going through the 2 step process of unlocking the screen.

I started seeing these fine white lines... Like the ones in old monitors. They are not thar noticeable. But still... I had the lg g3 and the display was amazing! Ok, I set my Photon in the webtop dock, but just to charge on my desk, not using the webtop program. It used to display a choice of "Widget Clock" or Webtop, and it no longer does. Maybe I clicked the don't ask again box last time? I do not remember, it's been a few weeks since I used the dock. Anyway I am SURE this is a simple setting somewhere, but I cannot, for the life of me, find it to turn the selection screen back on. I cleared the cache and settings, still no selection screen.

Mine seems to hang at night (seemingly about 20min after I plug it in for charging) and stays on yesterdays date and time until somehow it corrects itself the next day. There is no way to "activate it" or make it correct itself. All other clocks and calendars are correct.

The phone reboots itself sometimes when I try to make or receive a phone call (2 or 3 times a day). I know this is happening to other Photon owners and I already tried the factory reset twice. My build # is 4.5.1A-1_SUN-198_6. Does anyone know a fix for that?
