I've had my iPhone 5 since April 2013. From the start I knew I'd have to accept that the battery was going to drain quicker than I was used to, but I was prepared to accept it due to knowing that I was getting a high quality phone.Â
Things were as expected until 3 or 4 months ago. Since then, if my phone doesn't get used for 3-4 hours it can go down 5-6% (as I would accept), however, when I am using it, it shoots down. I can go to work at 9, finish at 5 and have 80 odd percent left. By 6, once I've had some basic usage, it can be down to 50%. This is far quicker loss than I've experienced in the past. This has included dropping by 10-15% in one instant as has happened on numerous occasions.Â
A further issue is that my phone can be displaying up to 45% battery (the highest it's happened) and turn off when I'm using it. If I try to turn it on it says that I need to plug it into a power source. If I leave it 20-30 minutes then it will turn back on and say that I've got the amount of battery that I was supposed to have when I turned it off. If I use it to do nothing but check the time it stays this way, if I try to use any other function then it turns off after 30 seconds or so. Once I get it plugged in (from being 'dead') it will start charging from 20/30/40% (wherever it went off at).Â
What can I do to get this fixed? It's unbelievably frustrating. Particularly if I know I'm going to be out for a while and won't have access to a charger. I can't base what battery the phone's telling me I have on what I actually have to use.Â
I always close apps after I've used them, background app refresh is off, I only have wi-fi running regularly (no bluetooth, mobile data, 3g etc.)Â

When I was playing around with the iPhone 4 at the Apple Store I noticed that next to the battery level icon it read "100%", seemingly indicating the exact percantage of how much juice is left in the battery. However, it's not showing up on mine. Is there a setting I need to toggle or something?
My IPhone 4 was working completely fine, then while i was listening to music it shuts off (the battery at 84%) . Now it won't cut back on, I've tired restoring it via itunes it just gives me an error, and I've tired holding the home and power button for 12secs. It still won't do anything
a new icon appeared to the left of the battery indicator. It's a little white phone with some dots under it. I,be had an iPhone for 6 years and have never had this before.Â
I was working out today and I left the iPhone in my car. My car was in a parking garage with a little heat. When I returned, the phone had drained 60 percent battery and there was a yellow spot on the bottom right of the screen. The yellow spot quickly went away after a few minutes of usage, but it was definitely there.
Is this normal for a phone to behave like this if exposed to heat?
My battery icon from time to time moves to the left. I've done some search but couldn't find if anyone else is having a similar issue. I'm on 4.0 iphone 4 stock. Jailbroken, Unlocked. I'm not sure if I remember this occurrence before the jailbreak.
I left my iPhone 5s to fully discharge last night. Today I have come to charge it up and it wont boot up past the Apple logo and charge up. It appears to keep throwing itself back to thinking the charger is repeatedly being plugged in. The phone was working perfectly before I went to bed.Â
I use original leads, have cleaned the connection port, tried another lead but no luck. I have held both buttons down etc but nothing will get the phone working and as I cannot get into ISO I can not do a restore.Â
I charge my 5s phone at night, and about halfway through the night my phone starts to vibrate to notify me that it is done charging which is great but it constantly wakes me up as it goes on all night. is there a setting I am missing to turn this off? my wife's 5s does not do this nor does my son's ...
Whenever I open an app on my iPhone it starts loading, it never opens it just turns off. It has 100% battery. I already restarted it and I already erased everything.
My Iphone 5 turns off in 20-45 battery. I replaced twice my battery(to a new original battery) in one week and the problem just increased. What can I do?
I bought xperia mini a month ago..worked fine til now bt since a week, phone gets switched off even with 22% battery remaining..also gets charged quite quickly..I have not installed ne apps since 10 days n dis prob started suddenly on its own..Also,since that time, even if the screen is locked, screen backlight gets on,on its own..(i dont use wifi at all, gprs also is off most of the time).
My iphone 5s is turning off with 49% battery life showing. I've done all the updates. When I plug it in, battery life immediately jumps to 47%left.Is the problem with the battery ???and if it's not I would like to know what the problem
I left my phone in the rain and did my best at drying it out. On recharging the red light goes off after a couple of minutes and soon after a battery with a red cross icon appears on the screen .Does this mean the battery, phone and sim card are wrecked. Does the water short out the junctions on the processor, power management, screen etc? Can anything be saved?
how much off diff is on 3g and edge on battery? and with data turn off?If i choose Data off will there be any diff on sending texts or calling people on quality or speed?
my bold 9000 ran out of battery and it was left for some hours. now it does not turn on. I have put it on charge but nothing happens . A red light keeps on flashing . And it even does not turn green
I've been having trouble with my Storm 9530 over the past week. It's not been turning on; I've charged it and it's still just a black screen. Sometimes it turns on to the white charging screen with the little lightning bolt on it and ocassionally it charges up to where it fully turns on but after a while it says "Battery drained - turning handheld off" and it turns off. I've done some googling and saw that other people have had this problem URL...
My battery died and now the device wont start up... i get some weird boot menu with; Internal Flash, internal mmc card, external mmc card, usb hard drive, power off (when not on charger). So how do i turn my phone back on?
I brought a blackberry a couple of days ago and it has been fine. Then today it ran out of battery and so when I got home I put it on charge. It is not turning back on and has been charging for nearly 4 hours. I have tried the battery pull and still nothing. There is no lights and the screen is just blank. What should I do?
My HTC M8 is about a month old, and a few days ago it turned off while I was using it at about 60% charge, I couldn't turn it back on until I got home and plug into the charger and it said that the battery was at 0%. There were no problems with the phone after that for a few days but it just happened again today, and I'm wondering if I was it is a battery problem.
