View 1 RepliesAnd next to that,, may be the answer to my problem is already on this forum, I'm sorry for that too, I've searched and searched, but no (working) answer, I hope if this is the case you can kindly redirect me. I hope you'll forgive me for this.
Having said this: Today I wanted to install another browser (Opera for BB), since I don't have (and need) a BIS/BES account I installed the program through the Desktop Manager (6.1). It worked ok, but the installation seemed to be hanging. The DM was waiting for the divice to reboot I guess? My phone at that point wasn't doing anything. Only a red LED was blinking?
Now, I did something stupid may be. The DM and my phone were already for quite some time in this state. But I HAD TO leave, so I disconnected. In the assumption that my phone could be turned on...I pressed the button to get it on...nothing (of course), removing the battery and putting it back....nothing. Only the red LED light blinking four times in intervals.
After some searching on different forums, I understand that my phone cannot reboot, probably because the OS is now messed up.I've tried to install an update. When connecting my phone to the computer by USB cable, both the Device Manager and the Desktop Manager recognize my phone. The DM detects a connection problem and offers to update the software of my phone. My hapiness (this might actually work!!) was diminished when the installationprocess was canceled, because (SURPRISE!) it couldn't connect to my phone to install the update properly.
Update: I also tried this: www.blackberryvsiphone.com/blackberry-troubleshooting/how-to-restore-a-dead-blackberry . But no luck there, It didn't produce a working BB.
Update2: Tried it second time, left the phone for a whole night...nothing! I'm seriously considering throwing the BB out of the window...
More constructively: what to do? Turn to BB website and the support forum for help. I really don't know where to begin..

When i plug the phone in nothing happens not even the yellow charge light. when i unplug the phone the red light comes on for a minute but the phone wont boot ive tried battery pulls and everything but the same thing happens everytime and i have no idea what to do. Ive never had this problem with any blackberry ive ever had.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a BB Curve 8302. Yesterday the battery depleted unusually fast (with in about 2-3 hrs with hardly any use). I put it on the charger for about 3hrs. Still showed the battery symbol (top left) as dead. And the words low battery below the clock. I left it charge over night. Still same thing. I put the battery into a friends 8320 & it showed fully charged no problem at all. I can access the phone if I have it plugged into the computer or charger. But the moment I disconnect it says something along the lines of "battery drained powering down". And it turns off my phone. So I have discovered there wasn't anything wrong with the battery. So is there something wrong with the phone? Or is there something wrong with the firmware? Even when I go to the wrench Icon & check battery level from there, it say 0% for charged. What can I do?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI used to get a SMS message everytime I got a voicemail but somehow it got turned off. Now all I get is the little voicemail icon at the top of my screen but no sound or vibration or anything. I've been looking for an answer to my issue on the forums but it seems like I'm the only person that likes the SMS alert, everybody else wants to turn it off.

Is there a way I can save all the information on my phone without syncing it?? I don't even remember the last time I did it, so I know there's a lot of new info on my phone. Also, does anyone know if this is covered under the Verizon Warranty?? I would appreciate any help ya'll could offer me! Thanks so much!!!

View 7 Replies View RelatedIs it possible? I own a 8520, I've asked other 8520 owners and they have no idea, I also searched around and found nothing. Anyone know if it's possible? Or do I need some kind of app...By camera sound I mean the "click" sound it makes when you take a photo.

View 2 Replies View Related The main problem is that my Nexus 5 (which is over a year old now) has been turning itself off and on for a couple of weeks now. At first it didn't bother me too much, because I could usually turn it on easily again. However the last few days this happened more frequent and today it just won't turn on again. I dropped it once and the screen broke. Had it replaced, but when I got it back the chip overheated really fast and the phone rebooted, resulting in an error message. I went back to the store and they replaced the motherboard, free of charge. they probably broke it when they replaced the screen. After 6 months or so, my screen broke again, due to work related circumstances (a machine malfunctioned and the phone actually saved my skin...). Had it replaced again and no further problems occurred, until now. The chip doesn't overheat, btw.Ok, so now a list of things I have tried and things that are noticeable, to spare you guys the comments
- The phone turns off randomly, both fully charged and when the battery is almost drained.
- The chip doesn't get hot, just normal when playing, for instance, a game with heavy graphics.
- I'm not using any particular app when it turns off, it is really random
- It turns off more frequent when I have the phone in the pocket of my trousers then anywhere else...his could however just be random.
- When the phone works again and shows me the main menu, there is NO error message stating that the phone has recovered from an unexpected shutdown. This did happen when the motherboard was broken.
- I tried every possible button-combo there is (power+vol up/down - hold power for +30 seconds - rapidly press power until my finger bleeds).
Last but not least...
- I have the strong feeling it is a connection problem somewhere...Before today, when it shut off and the power button didn't turn it on again, I tapped the phone on the back, roughly where the hardware is located and it turned the phone on.
Today I opened the phone for the first time, but haven't gone any further than that. I might remove the battery and have a look at it, blow on it for luck and stuff, and see if there's any connection problem....Other than that...I don't know.
My phone has been turning off on me at random times with battery life, but when I try to turn it back on it does not respond. If I plug it is to charge it will reboot and then charge as if the battery died. What is causing my phone to turn off with half a batter life left?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a blackberry 8520, I have had it for about 2 months now. My blackberry battery gets really hot than within the hour the battery dies. This happens randomly. First time it happened to me I was in a movie theatre and had the phone on silent. The second time it happened I was wearing it on my belt clip and had it on loud. I do not keep any apps running and usually only use the phone for txts and email. My fiancee bought his blackberry curve 8520 the same day and he has the same problem. My blackberry is updated with the latest software.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI have a BlackBerry Curve 8520. I am trying to charge my phone (right now) and the battery just will not charge. My screen shows the icon with the drained battery with a bolt of electricity going through it. I have tried removing the battery from the back and reinserting, no fix. I know my charger is not broken.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI've had my new 8530 curve for about a week now. I'm getting about 1/2 day of heavy usage from the battery. This includes 6 hrs of usage with 2 hrs of bluetooth conference calls, and when I'm not talking, I'm checking emails and stocks every 30 min. Have to say, I'm a little disappointed as I could get an extra 1/2 day with my 8330 and just charge my bb at the end of the day with 10-20% left over. Folks say I need to upgrade os, that is next on my list.
View 10 Replies View RelatedMy battery on my 8520 had doubled in size and i also got the white screen of death, but the battery still worked. but i had enough of charging it all the time, so i brought a new battery. the battery is the right one as ive looked it up several times and my chargers are working. however when i put my new battery in and put it on charge, the phone will not turn on and says there is no battery as the symbol comes up of a battery with a red cross
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy lovely Blackberry 8520 doesn't have any more than about 12 hours battery life. Even without using it for anything, it starts the day fully charged and loses juice by 6pm, when I have to turn it off. I've had it since March, it has had a new battery (about a month into my contract with Orange), and I also have Battery Booster enabled.
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs it normal for my 8520's battery to last just 1-2 days after charging? I have it for about 2months now, and don't make use of a lot of apps (mostly emails, facebook).
Blackberry Curve 8520?Out of nowhere my phone started making weird crackling noises so i took out the battery, placed it back into the phone same problem but the red light was on so i tried twice more but longer periods with the battery out it wouldn't turn on and i just tried once more then it turned off completely no light. Do i need a new battery or is it the phone?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've recently purchased a 8520, I've not had it for long but already it isn't working.I removed the battery the other day andante it back in, from this point... It will not turn on, when I charge it, it just shows as 'Charging'.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've had my blackberry curve 8520 for quite a long time but in the last couple of days I've noticed that its getting quite hot and I'm worried about this? Also one morning I noticed my blackberry battery was on half but I left it of for most of the day and turned it on for about four hours but in that time it had died. The next day it was fully charged by 10 am and by 5 pm it was dead. I don't understand why its doing this, I've never had this problem before and I haven't made any changes. I have the same amount of apps and songs and I had before this problem and I hadn't used any apps or listened to any music this day so it just doesn't make sense.
