BB Curve :: 8520's Battery To Last Just 1-2 Days After Charging?
Nov 3, 2011Is it normal for my 8520's battery to last just 1-2 days after charging? I have it for about 2months now, and don't make use of a lot of apps (mostly emails, facebook).

Yesterday (18-05-2012) my battery drained and I had no chance of charging it back up, till today (19-05-2012). I got home and thought that maybe my charger had packed up, but then tried my brothers blackberry charger - its been on charge for about 3 hours and still hasn't worked.

View 2 Replies View RelatedBeing a CDMA user for so many years, I enjoyed nice voice clarity on almost any phone. 4-5 days back I have switched to GSM with 8520. Everything is nice but I'm experiencing very odd problem. I really don't know whether it is my mind playing a trick or it is true.
When talking over the phone, I feel the sound from other end is compressed...muffled... whatever you call it but its not clear as I used to get it on my CDMA network. I have tried enhancing options with boosting treble but not much difference. My ears feel pressurized while talking. I have told my wife to check the clarity but she is ok with it. For CDMA conection I'm using Samsung SCH-S379. Its very basic yet very clear compare to 8520.
I'm running on pre loaded 4.6 OS. My phone is made in Hungery 3 and its January 2010 make. Not yet activated BES/BIS. Does upgrading OS to 5.0 helps in improving earpiece voice clarity ?? do we have any other adjustments ?? is there always a difference in voice clarity in GSM and CDMA ??
Recently, my battery is only lasting approximately 7 hours instead of the 1.5-2 days that it used to..

View 2 Replies View Relatedmy 8520 stopped working around a month and a half ago maybe a little longer, it wouldnt charge when plugged into the charger, i tried a veriety of different things to see if it worked but nothing did, i have now bought a new battery for my 8520, before putting the new battery in, i decided to try and turn my phone on with my old battery in it, but had no luck. so i took my old battery out and placed my new one in and the red light came on in the top right corner, it then came up with a charging sign on the screen then a red cross appeared ontop of it, a loading bar then came on underneath it and it grew longer very slowly, so i thought i'd leave it to see if it needed time to charge and load, when i came ack to have a look at it after about 15 mins it looked exactly the same so i then tried turning my phone on/off bye pressing the red end call button, when i did that the battery with the red cross through went off the screen and then the word 'blackberry' in white writing appeared as if it was then being switeched on and then the little loading sign came on underneath, shortly after that it just went back

View 1 Replies View RelatedI bought a Nokia E72 two weeks back. Don't have much problems with it. Its a great phone. The only problem I see here is with battery life. Before the phone release it was said that the phone will have 11hr of battery back on call. I was expecting the battery to stand for 3+ days with normal usage, but I am really disappointed by nokia it hardly goes for 2+ days. Any one have any trick to make the battery stay longer or any way to handle the phone which will keep the battery well. The second problem I see with phone is the GPS does not seem to be working. But when I use some external application that uses GPS, it works. I am using google maps which works awesome.
I will keep posting for any new problem encountered. One more big question is that , when the new firmware will get released, how do we install it on phone, do we loose data on phone, do we loose any functionality? Can a firmware resolve the battery issue? I found a nice site where we have many free awesome softwares for nokia e71. www.getjar.com. Every possible software is available here. just set your phone model, and the site will have everything compatible to the phone. Nice web site, I really liked it.

I suddenly got a huge problem with my X8 - the battery won't charge at all. A week ago everything worked as it should, battery time was good and it hadn't been significatly shorter since I bought the phone. A few days ago it wouldn't charge when I connected it to my laptop, neither did it charge when I connected it to the wall jack. However, the battery charge symbol on the screen went on. Switching the phone of didn't make any difference (though the flash symbol for battery charging went on). Of course it died completely pretty soon, and I can't get it chargen enough to start it.
I'm not even sure that this is a hardware problem (since the operating system says that the battery was recharging), and I want to avoid buying a new battery unless i'm sure that that's the problem, after all they're pretty expensive and I plan to buy one of the newer SE phones in a couple om months anyway, though I can't do it right away. I guess I could stick to some old cell phone until then, but i really would like to get a copy of some of the stuff on the internal memory (phone book, messages, bookmarks, some software preferences etc).
My phone ran out of battery completely, and turned off, like normal. However, when I plugged it into my 240v wall charger, it came up with a battery symbol and a red cross over the top, something i have never seen before. I have taken the battery out and out it back in many times now and no luck. The LED turns red for a few seconds upon inserting the charger, but goes off and will not allow me to turn the phone on as usual.I have looked at my battery and next to the gold contact plates, is a little white strip, its turned partially red. I heard somewhere that the batterys have a device to notify you if the battery has become wet.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a bit of a problem with my blackberry:
1. Annoying unread messages that won't go away
2. Excessive Heat when charging
3. Bulging Battery
Do you guys thinks that this warrants for a warranty exchange? Or is it ok for me to keep using it?
My battery died then I charged it and still the phone is radio off and the battery is full, and just shows the home page and I cant go to the menu or do anything? Cannot even connect to the PC.
View 9 Replies View RelatedThe phone doesnt stay on. Unless the charger is in the phone, it says, "battery drain, now shutting down". I've bought a new battery and that doesnt change it. Sometimes I play around with the phone and the battery is not low battery and works until I take the battery out of the phone. Then it just goes to low battery again. I dont know what needs to be changed or what needs to be done.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a blackberry 8520, I have had it for about 2 months now. My blackberry battery gets really hot than within the hour the battery dies. This happens randomly. First time it happened to me I was in a movie theatre and had the phone on silent. The second time it happened I was wearing it on my belt clip and had it on loud. I do not keep any apps running and usually only use the phone for txts and email. My fiancee bought his blackberry curve 8520 the same day and he has the same problem. My blackberry is updated with the latest software.

View 14 Replies View RelatedI've had my new 8530 curve for about a week now. I'm getting about 1/2 day of heavy usage from the battery. This includes 6 hrs of usage with 2 hrs of bluetooth conference calls, and when I'm not talking, I'm checking emails and stocks every 30 min. Have to say, I'm a little disappointed as I could get an extra 1/2 day with my 8330 and just charge my bb at the end of the day with 10-20% left over. Folks say I need to upgrade os, that is next on my list.
