I have a BlackBerry Curve 8520. I am trying to charge my phone (right now) and the battery just will not charge. My screen shows the icon with the drained battery with a bolt of electricity going through it. I have tried removing the battery from the back and reinserting, no fix. I know my charger is not broken.

I then went to move my phone plus charger upstairs so i could charge it overnight, plugged it in with the same charger it worked with earlier and no sign of charging. I've tried with my pc charger aswell and tried different plugs/chargers.

Well, im not a very heavy BB user but ive never had my batt go dead on me but it happened! i totally couldnt turn my phone on until i put in my charger.Then it happens randomly whereby my phone will heat up and the battery drops 5% every 10mins or so! until it shuts off!! It happened once right after i fully charged my phone and it shut off within the next hour.Anyone knows whats happening?? i suspected whether it was any of my installed apps that are draining my batt, so i shut off everything! i mean no msn no foursquare no twitter only emails are on but yet it still happens!!Help please? i hope its just the batt thats screwed not my phone.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOK, so I got my phone back from the O2 store yesterday, because it had a charger port error, the charger just wouldn't go in. I got a replacement phone, but I had lost my charger, so I bought one from Tesco, it ha the red LED for around 5 seconds, then it showed up on the screen the battery with the lightning through it. I took the charger out and put it back in, and after that it just wouldn't charge. I went back to Tesco and they exchanged the charger. Still didn't work, what should I do?!

When I go to plug it in after getting home it will not charge or even lite up when plugged in. I have tried plugging it into the wall and the computer but I get the same reaction from both and that is nothing. I have tried to pull the battery and it is still the same.

Is there a setting on the phone which I can check to potentially fix this problem? This is a new phenomenon. The phones were OK ( for holding their charge) when I purchased them. If it is relevant I recently spoke to my service provider about the poor signal in my area and followed their instructions to make certain adjustments on the phones to (marginally) improve the reception. Is it possible that this operation/adjustment could have changed the battery life characteristics?

Once i got it to a wall charger the phone charged for a little booted and everything. It even accepted the txts i recieved while it was off. I leave the house for a couple hours i come back and the phone is off. When i plug the phone in nothing happens not even the yellow charge light. when i unplug the phone the red light comes on for a minute but the phone wont boot ive tried battery pulls and everything but the same thing happens everytime and i have no idea what to do. I've deleted lots of apps etc I don't use to try and help, and I make sure I properly close everything down so it's not running in the background etc. Even if I put it on standby mode the battery has usually drained by about 1pm even though it's been fully charged.Me and my fiance have the same phone so I've tried his battery/charger etc. If I use his fully charged battery the same thing was happening. On saturday though, it just will not charge at all. A red light comes on and goes and that's it. If I use a fully charged battery it will still last a few hours, but I can't charge it myself.It's a bit of a nightmare as my fiance had emergency surgery last night so we need to both have working phones so he can contact me from the hospital if he needs to, and I need to take his phone home to charge at night, but it's leaving me without a working phone.

If i plug it in to charge.. it charges at about 1% per hour if that.. turn the screen on and it drops several percent,. use it unplugged and it rapidly discharges maybe 15% or more in a very short period of time.
Im guessing i got a bad batch?

I have a Bold 9000 and it is draining the battery very quickly doesnt even last a few hours with a couple of calls and when its flat will only charge if I take out the battery and put in on a universal charger it wont charge with the blackberry mains charger, car charger or usb connection.I have bought two new batteries and all the same thing, turned off all applications I can see.The phone was bought new from an ebay seller in December and I cant get any response now from them and they are no longer on ebay.I have seen something about updating the system.

I have a blackberry 8520, I have had it for about 2 months now. My blackberry battery gets really hot than within the hour the battery dies. This happens randomly. First time it happened to me I was in a movie theatre and had the phone on silent. The second time it happened I was wearing it on my belt clip and had it on loud. I do not keep any apps running and usually only use the phone for txts and email. My fiancee bought his blackberry curve 8520 the same day and he has the same problem. My blackberry is updated with the latest software.
