BB Curve 83xx :: Battery Life Lasts A Few Minutes - Tried New Battery
Feb 16, 2010I gave my sister my old curve its about 1 1/2 yrs old. the day i gave it to her the phone worked just fine but after she flew back home the battery would only last her a few minutes. i told her to try a new battery but it still has not changed anything. i even got her to upgrade to 5.0 just to see if it would make any difference but it doesnt.
she barely uses any apps, and mostly uses the phone for emailing.on standby it will every 10minutes or so the battery life will go down by 10%, and after a few texts or a minute or two on a call the phone will just die. she can pretty much just use it when its connected to a power source.Seems like a phone issue but there is no warranty on it
BB Curve 83xx :: 8320 No Battery Life For Radio Use
Jun 22, 2010yesterday, my 8320 was at the point where it had no battery life for radio use.Now the phone just completely turned off. Its been on charge for a good 10-15min. After holding the end button to turn it on, it says, battery drained, and it turns off.whats my problem? 2 different chargers have been used already, and so has the USB.

Jul 1, 2010The phone doesnt stay on. Unless the charger is in the phone, it says, "battery drain, now shutting down". I've bought a new battery and that doesnt change it. Sometimes I play around with the phone and the battery is not low battery and works until I take the battery out of the phone. Then it just goes to low battery again. I dont know what needs to be changed or what needs to be done.

Apr 30, 2010I’ve got a BlackBerry Curve 8900 (ATT, running 4.2.0.108), and have had it since Oct. 2009. Battery life has always been OK - 24 to 48 hrs. between recharges.
Today though, after pulling it off the charger this morning around 8:00 a.m., I’ve noticed that I’m down to about 5% charge by 2:30 p.m. I have made no phone calls today, and have only sent/received a couple texts and rec’d two emails. I've never used a holster, have downloaded no apps, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are both off. No keys appear to be sticking. Absolutely nothing, to my knowledge, of any significance has changed on the phone since October, yet all of a sudden --literally, overnight --I am experiencing this greatly diminished battery life. The only even remotely precipitating factor I can think of is that I did a battery pull yesterday, after deleting some old photos and emails.
I’ve searched the forum, and most of the suggestions are along the lines of “turn off bluetooth/wi-fi/update OS,” but as noted, I never used those anyhow, and the OS has always been good to me.

Feb 11, 2012I've had my phone for half a year. And these past two months, my phone doesnt charge, nor hold its charge.. sometimes it takes as long as 6hrs to get it 10% charged while its charging, or says it is.. my Orange light blinks when its on the charger , when its suppose to be a sold orange light.. I sometimes get a message saying "charging power current doesn't have enough consumption please switch to an ad adapter." Now my question is, is it a hardware problem and would I be able to send it in to get fixed, or did I cause this... Forgot to add one thing, I usually have to wiggle it around for it too stay.

Dec 13, 2011Okay, so I'm on the move a lot, travelling to and from University each day which can take anywhere between 1-2 hours getting there and getting back. I'm always on my phone during travelling as there isb't much else to do and I like to keep in touch with friends. I use Facebook and the internet a lot on their and I understand this is why my battery runs down so quick. Using it for I'd say 3 or so hours and the battery is done, I usually take my usb cable to uni so I can charge it ready for the journey home. Is there anyway I can get the same usage out of it and not drain the battery so much? I am thinking of getting a new battery first off as I'd say the current one would not be able to achieve good life againt, but is there long lasting batteries I can get?

My biggest issue is DM, BBSAK, do not recognize the phone.
it's not the cable (tried several), I have the OS on my computer, and I even downloaded the official Verizon OS to my computer to make sure the correct drivers were installed.
any ideas? I really need to tether also; VZW access manager will let me connect VIA bluetooth but does not "see" the phone via the usb port??

Apr 29, 2010I've had my new 8530 curve for about a week now. I'm getting about 1/2 day of heavy usage from the battery. This includes 6 hrs of usage with 2 hrs of bluetooth conference calls, and when I'm not talking, I'm checking emails and stocks every 30 min. Have to say, I'm a little disappointed as I could get an extra 1/2 day with my 8330 and just charge my bb at the end of the day with 10-20% left over. Folks say I need to upgrade os, that is next on my list.

Dec 31, 2011I bought my Blackberry a month ago and the battery life was pretty good (3 days). Then the other day I downloaded a few apps (dictionary, flashlight and barcode scanner) and also added a lot of music onto the phone. Now the battery life just goes after a few hours. I've turned off Bluetooth and WiFi. I don't know what is sucking all the life out of my battery. I haven't browsed the internet or talked on the phone. Also one morning I noticed my blackberry battery was on half but I left it of for most of the day and turned it on for about four hours but in that time it had died. The next day it was fully charged by 10 am and by 5 pm it was dead. I don't understand why its doing this, I've never had this problem before and I haven't made any changes. I only use whatsapp and phone calls (very fell phone calls). Is this any problem with the configuration?
When my phone did not use APN as defaulf, my battery lasts almost 3 days - but whatsapp wasn't working w/3G.

Mar 17, 2011I have just bought a bb 9300 curve (10 days old) and the battery life seems to be extremely bad. The only apps running are whatsapp, facebook and bbm. - even if I don't touch my phone the standby time is bearly 2 days (manufacture specs claim 19 days standby time). Surely this can't be right. I have implemented every battery saving technique without any measurable change.
