BB Curve :: BB 8520 Curve Battery Getting Hot And Not Charging
Oct 7, 2011
I have a problem with my 8520 curve battery. It keeps getting hot and won't charge properly. Phone is just over a year old. Should I buy a new battery, or should these be replaced by Blackberry?
Is it normal for my 8520's battery to last just 1-2 days after charging? I have it for about 2months now, and don't make use of a lot of apps (mostly emails, facebook).
Yesterday (18-05-2012) my battery drained and I had no chance of charging it back up, till today (19-05-2012). I got home and thought that maybe my charger had packed up, but then tried my brothers blackberry charger - its been on charge for about 3 hours and still hasn't worked.
If anyone out there could lend me a helping hand with this. Well, im not a very heavy BB user but ive never had my batt go dead on me but it happened! i totally couldnt turn my phone on until i put in my charger. Then it happens randomly whereby my phone will heat up and the battery drops 5% every 10mins or so! until it shuts off!! It happened once right after i fully charged my phone and it shut off within the next hour.Anyone knows whats happening?? i suspected whether it was any of my installed apps that are draining my batt, so i shut off everything! i mean no msn no foursquare no twitter only emails are on but yet it still happens!!Help please? i hope its just the batt thats screwed not my phone.
I actually worked as a tech support rep. but i can't explain what's happening with my phone... coz i downloaded some phone themes... The issue is, when i use certain themes the phone wont charge... i tried a different charger and battery already. but when i changed the theme back to its default everything is working fine?
I just buy a BB 8520 curve.I have a wi-fi at home and start using it ,BUT i see in my bill ( UK,T-Mobile) that I've been charged about using internet? I called to support but they told me that I can't stop this?I this for real even with wi-fi I still must paid for internet?
i just got my 8520 last aug 23. it was all working fine, until last night i was supposed to charge it. it charged at first then it turned off. it didnt turned on for a while. i took off the charger then it restarted..everytime i tried to charge it, it just keeps on restarting. no error message at all.
my 8520 stopped working around a month and a half ago maybe a little longer, it wouldnt charge when plugged into the charger, i tried a veriety of different things to see if it worked but nothing did, i have now bought a new battery for my 8520, before putting the new battery in, i decided to try and turn my phone on with my old battery in it, but had no luck. so i took my old battery out and placed my new one in and the red light came on in the top right corner, it then came up with a charging sign on the screen then a red cross appeared ontop of it, a loading bar then came on underneath it and it grew longer very slowly, so i thought i'd leave it to see if it needed time to charge and load, when i came ack to have a look at it after about 15 mins it looked exactly the same so i then tried turning my phone on/off bye pressing the red end call button, when i did that the battery with the red cross through went off the screen and then the word 'blackberry' in white writing appeared as if it was then being switeched on and then the little loading sign came on underneath, shortly after that it just went back
Since last 2 days my curve battery is draining within 3-5 hrs of charging. I ran AVG anit virus on the device through a PC and found a Torjan which was later removed. However, still battery is draing.
My phone ran out of battery completely, and turned off, like normal. However, when I plugged it into my 240v wall charger, it came up with a battery symbol and a red cross over the top, something i have never seen before. I have taken the battery out and out it back in many times now and no luck. The LED turns red for a few seconds upon inserting the charger, but goes off and will not allow me to turn the phone on as usual.I have looked at my battery and next to the gold contact plates, is a little white strip, its turned partially red. I heard somewhere that the batterys have a device to notify you if the battery has become wet.
My battery in my blackberry curved died. I have plugged it into the wall charger. It turns on and it says it is charging but it still says I have zero battery, its been plugged in for 3 hrs. When I disconnect the phone from the plus it turns off.
My battery died then I charged it and still the phone is radio off and the battery is full, and just shows the home page and I cant go to the menu or do anything? Cannot even connect to the PC.
I have a blackberry 8520, I have had it for about 2 months now. My blackberry battery gets really hot than within the hour the battery dies. This happens randomly. First time it happened to me I was in a movie theatre and had the phone on silent. The second time it happened I was wearing it on my belt clip and had it on loud. I do not keep any apps running and usually only use the phone for txts and email. My fiancee bought his blackberry curve 8520 the same day and he has the same problem. My blackberry is updated with the latest software.
The phone doesnt stay on. Unless the charger is in the phone, it says, "battery drain, now shutting down". I've bought a new battery and that doesnt change it. Sometimes I play around with the phone and the battery is not low battery and works until I take the battery out of the phone. Then it just goes to low battery again. I dont know what needs to be changed or what needs to be done.
I have a BlackBerry Curve 8520. I am trying to charge my phone (right now) and the battery just will not charge. My screen shows the icon with the drained battery with a bolt of electricity going through it. I have tried removing the battery from the back and reinserting, no fix. I know my charger is not broken.
I just bought a brand new Blackberry 8350i today and I don't think it's charging. The lightning bolt shows up on the battery indicator but then the bolt is gone after 5 seconds. Is it still charging? The user manual doesn't explain it much.
What do you do save battery life? I always put phone in standby mode using mute key found this saves a lot and screen brightness down to 20 %. any free programs that free up ram memory like close unused programs after 5 mins of inactivity of that progra by the user
I've had my new 8530 curve for about a week now. I'm getting about 1/2 day of heavy usage from the battery. This includes 6 hrs of usage with 2 hrs of bluetooth conference calls, and when I'm not talking, I'm checking emails and stocks every 30 min. Have to say, I'm a little disappointed as I could get an extra 1/2 day with my 8330 and just charge my bb at the end of the day with 10-20% left over. Folks say I need to upgrade os, that is next on my list.
My battery on my 8520 had doubled in size and i also got the white screen of death, but the battery still worked. but i had enough of charging it all the time, so i brought a new battery. the battery is the right one as ive looked it up several times and my chargers are working. however when i put my new battery in and put it on charge, the phone will not turn on and says there is no battery as the symbol comes up of a battery with a red cross
My lovely Blackberry 8520 doesn't have any more than about 12 hours battery life. Even without using it for anything, it starts the day fully charged and loses juice by 6pm, when I have to turn it off. I've had it since March, it has had a new battery (about a month into my contract with Orange), and I also have Battery Booster enabled.
Blackberry Curve 8520?Out of nowhere my phone started making weird crackling noises so i took out the battery, placed it back into the phone same problem but the red light was on so i tried twice more but longer periods with the battery out it wouldn't turn on and i just tried once more then it turned off completely no light. Do i need a new battery or is it the phone?
I've recently purchased a 8520, I've not had it for long but already it isn't working.I removed the battery the other day andante it back in, from this point... It will not turn on, when I charge it, it just shows as 'Charging'.
I've had my blackberry curve 8520 for quite a long time but in the last couple of days I've noticed that its getting quite hot and I'm worried about this? Also one morning I noticed my blackberry battery was on half but I left it of for most of the day and turned it on for about four hours but in that time it had died. The next day it was fully charged by 10 am and by 5 pm it was dead. I don't understand why its doing this, I've never had this problem before and I haven't made any changes. I have the same amount of apps and songs and I had before this problem and I hadn't used any apps or listened to any music this day so it just doesn't make sense.
My blackberry curve does not turn on after i took out the battery, when i connect it to my computer via USB the red lights blinks one time then three time and it continues like this.
