Title pretty much says it all. If i turn off my phone and plug in my lightning cable, it will turn it on like normal. Although when its done, its not charging. Is there any fix for this?Â
-Yes its a certified cable
- Yes I've tried to clean the lightning port
- When I charge with an non-certified cable, it will charge just fine, but it'll give me a popup saying its not certified.

my iphone 3g battery died. When I recharged it the large icon with a lightning bolt under it showed up and it booted after a while. After that the charge does not go higher than 2% and it turns off after barely a minute of usage and there is no charging sign on the battery icon. The chrome strip on the border also becomes live while connected.

My phone has been acting up since installing the latest iOS 7.1.1. The back lighting for the screen works intermittetly. I have been able to get it to come back on by turning the phone off and back on, but not every time. Once I enabled VoiceOver through Siri and turned ScreenCurtain On and Off. Other times, just clicking the home button and a few times on a notification that would turn the back lighting on. The phone seems to want to respond to turning the back lighting on, but does not do it every time it should. It usually takes 10 - 30 minutes of me working with it to get it to come back on. The phone has not been dropped and is in an Otterbox case.

I have had this phone for less than 2 months. A couple of weeks ago, the battery suddenly started draining. I have to charge it at least twice per day when I'm not even using it more more than 1 or 2 texts.
View 8 Replies View RelatedSince the dawn of time (almost) Apple has used the 30-pin connector, which was originally used for laptop docking stations, and of course the iPhone inherited that port. Now, I can see why they have it on the iPhone since almost every portable Apple products use it and that's good for accessories like sound systems and various other products. Now, I remember hearing about a new phone standard for cables/chargers with all parties using the same port. Apple among others have joined. So, what's gonna happen to the 30-pin connector? Are there any real benefits of using the 30-pin connector over a USB solution, like micro USB?
View 24 Replies View RelatedI took my phone to the Apple store to have the 30 pin connector looked at. They said there was corrosion on the connector and that was affecting the charging. I'm considering using contact cleaner from Radio Shack. I'm looking for ideas on how to apply it and clean the contacts in such a small space.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI was saving my Samsung Galaxy S5 holiday pictures onto a micro SD card, but nearly all can only be seen as an icon that looks like a lightning bolt going through a Droid image. If I open "My Files" in the Applications folder, the photos are present (but not visible) as jpeg files. When I open the SD card in my PC each jpeg is present as a 2GB file (approx.), but again, can't be opened. How do I get to se my holiday snaps?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter noticing that my normal cables aren't working right, (I usually use a dock) I've been trying to figure out why. Finally found the cause. The dock is faulty. Pic's are at the bottom. The right side of it is pushing up more as you can see in the pics. It's firmly in that position, doesn't wiggle or anything and the phone still charges and music can be played using the dock. But the normal cables are all acting really dodgy now. If u push them in they'll connect for a second while your pushing and then disconnect when you let go... This has been getting worse and worse and obviously the dock has slowly been damaging the connector inside the phone.

The case I am using leaves the dock connector exposed. Is there some kind of plug to protect it. Should I protect it?

I bought the lighting pin to 30 pin connector. I own an iPhone 5.Â
I connected it to my iPod doc station that is made with a 30 pin default. The doc lights up green when I connect the lighting pin to 30 pin connector indicating that it recognizes it is connected but when I then connect my iPhone 5 to the connector, it won't play music through the doc. It just plays the music through my iPhone speakers.Â
What's wrong with it?
I was just curious because I was looking in there to check my liquid indicator (still white thank god) and I noticed two weird scuff-like markings and I was wondering is it my apple cord scratching the inside of my connector or is it common? So I ask that everyone check and see if there are friction scuffs on yours as well.

I have a 3G running version 3.1.2 and I am JB. My question is will this phone support video out from the dock connector? I have P90X ripped on my phone and I would like to plug it into the tv in the gym. Will the phone do this and if not is there a JB app that will alow that?

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy phone stopped charging one day so I sent it in to Sony. They sent it back saying "physical damage, glue on connector broken".Now this phone is only a few months old.It has never been dropped or anything. If there was any damage to the connector, it came from plugging it in in a normal manner. So I called them back up and said that there is no way I caused any damage to the phone. The customer service person said that he would resubmit it and that I would hear back from them in 24 hours.
3 days later after hearing nothing, I called them and the guy told me that nothing was ever resubmitted and that they don't even do that.SO Sony sold me a phone that broke under 2 months of normal use, refuses to fix the problem, and then told me something completely untrue just to get me off the phone. That being said, has anyone had the glue break on their phone and is there anyway to fix it? I could deal with doing the battery swap and recharge thing but I really want to be able to update to gingerbread.
I've been Googling to try to find an adapter or cable to connect to the internal antenna port on the PCB, but I don't know what the industry terminology for such a connector is, so I don't even know what to Google. Can someone tell me what I need and/or point me to a site where I can buy it? My phone has no external antenna port and an inductive adapter/cradle is not good enough. Yes, I will be very careful and provide strain relief, etc., when I hook it up.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThe local Nokia repair store says my 3-month-old Lumia has a "broken" USB connector. This seemed so outrageous that I searched and found this forum with several similiar complaints hidden in other threads. The symptom is that the phone won't charge... which is similiar to several other software related problems. However, to reduce confusion, let's please focus this thread on broken/damaged USB connectors. If your phone won't charge, you can check if you have a broken USB. Just look at yours in comparison to a USB connector on a different phone. I believe this is a manufacturing/part failure in the Nokia. I did not damage my phone. Another poster's phone had this same problem directly out of the box. Another user was eventually successful in getting Nokia to replace his phone. (My local service center wants €290 + 23% IVA to repair what I did not break.)

View 12 Replies View RelatedI bought a new X6 from operator before Xmas. Just in 3+ weeks USB port metal shield in phone was ruptured from phone circuit board and metal holding came out with the cable. Board was not damaged as I could get USB working by keeping cable in manually in right position but as it was not secured it stopped working as soon as phone moved even slightly. Using Nokia Comes with Music/Ovi store during Xmas heavily I connected/disconnected usb 200+ times in this short time frame.
Nokia repair shop took the phone for repairs for over 5 weeks and surprised by a billed (40 Euros) statement that it can't be repaired satisfactorily. It's not within Nokia limited warranty terms and I should by a new phone! I can't complain as consumer as I bought phone for my company and can't use my private insurance to cover replacement. As I bought it via an operator I'm wondering whose Quality Assurance I should now complain. As a telecoms consultant I've advised several equipment manufacturers on quality assurance but this really puzzles me.
I recently upgraded from Bold 9000 to a 9700. Never had problems with syncs. On first synq with new one, I had no probs either, however two days ago I started receiving this message: Connector Specific Error.
