When I'm out and about, I pick up my mail on my iPad and/or on my iPhone. I HATE having to sift through the duplicates. I know I can delete the emails from the server as they are being downloaded, and that would solve the problem between the iDevices. But I still want a copy of them downloaded into Outlook on my desktop for future reference, so deleting them from the server before Outlook gets ahold of them does not seem like a good idea.I currently have a POP3 account, but I could move onto an Exchange Server or into iCloud or something else if that would solve the problem.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSuddenly today after deleting a handful of messages out of one mailbox it suddenly says that mailbox has 4294967295 messages. There is nothing in the mailbox. If I send mail to it, the count changes to 1 until I delete that message then it goes back to 4294967295. I have deleted the account and recreated it but that didn't fix it.

I upgraded my iPhone 4s to iOS8. The Mail icon now shows 7176 unread messages. It showed none before the upgrade. How can I reset the indicator so that it shows only recent new messages?

I am connected to my html email account.I is on an Exchange server. In outlook there is a folder called Unread Mail. I have a lot of rules that filter my mail into folders so I use Unread Mail a lot in outlook. I would prefer if my BlackBerry also looked at this folder to show my emails, this way I would get all of those that were filtered and not just the ones in the inbox. Is there a way for me to do this? I am running version 6.0 bundle 2426 of the BlackBerry software on my phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThis is really bothering me.I have a yahoo mail account set up on my phone - It has been on there for over a year - it has always worked this way - If I get an email (the phone goes "bing") and i read it on the computer - and responded and delete it on the computer it would be removed from the phone the next time i looked. Recently I began noticing that the message is not being delated from the phone if I delete it from the mailbox, and I can't figure out why.
Basically I want to be able to read the message on the computer and hit delete and for it do the same thing on my blackberry and vise versa. Now it seems to work if I delete the message on the BB then it will not be in the Mailbox on the computer.
I have about 5 email addresses setup on my iPhone. However, I only want the badge on the iPhone home screen to display the unread count for my primary email address (instead of adding up all the unread emails in all of my inboxes).

Am I missing a way to delete mail that seems more intuitive than what we currently have? I've read through the tricks and tips thread but if it's there I must have missed it. So far I haven't seen anything in iOS4 that makes it any easier than it was in the past.
For instance, Facebook emails. I can't turn them off because I'm OCD about status updates and I want to see all comments, and receive mail in case someone deletes one they have posted. Plus, it's easier to read emails than to go into the Facebook app and look at every status and notification that I've commented on.
Anyway, when I'm done reading them, sometimes I have upwards of 50+ emails and the only way I can find to delete them from the mail app is to tap every single email one by one, which is tedious and annoying. Is this really the only way to mass delete emails? I think the least Apple could do is make it like the photos app where you tap one photo, and if you just drag your finger along the photos it selects them as you drag.
I have an iPhone 5 and I use the mail application quite a lot, and I also like to sort my mail into folders after I have read it. I know how to create a new folder, but I don't know how to delete an old folder (I've been using the same email account for a few years now and a lot of my folders are organised into friends from my old school who I don't keep in touch with anymore). If I tap on an older folder and click delete, it just states there and doesn't delete.how to delete a folder.
View 7 Replies View Relatedabout 6 months ago my mother in law purchased an Iphone. I set up her email for her using a pop 3. At the time I could not get the godaddy outgoing email server to work so I used my local ISP provied outgoing smtp server with my user name and password.
Now my mother in law moved to a different sate and she got a new iphone but my outgoing mail server still shows up as the primary outgoing mail server so she still needs my user name and password.
Also on my iphone I noticed there are 8 "other smtp servers" in addition to the primary. I want to delete them all.

Before the update to iOS 5.1 when I "deleted" emails in the native mail app the emails would be "archived" in my gmail account. Now, when I delete the emails on the native mail app, the emails are sent to the trash. I cannot find a toggle in the mail settings to restore the archive feature (if it exists).

My iCloud email pushes mail to my iPhone and my iMac. But, when I delete an email from my iMac, my badge does not update on the Mail icon on my iPhone, unless I acually open mail on the iPhone. The iPhone acts like the Push function only works for receiving emails and not for deleting them from the iMac.Â
I have deleted my iCloud account on my iPhone and then reinstalled it, and that did not fix it. What can I do to fix the Push issue that I am having?Â
PSÂ I am using the latest Mail and Mavericks on my iMac and the latest iOS on my iPhone.
