My iPhone 4 constantly "pocket dials" my contacts due to pressure on the home button whilst the screen is locked, can I turn it off?

It seems as if I press the screen, it touches some of the keys at the qwerty keyboard. This wakes the phone from key lock and starts the emergency call screen. This is becoming quite a problem as I can't have the phone in my pocket for more then a few minutes before I hear the dialing sound (the sound when pressing a 0-9 key)I'm hoping there's a way to turn off this function (emergency dialing), especially when keys are locked.Does anyone have the same issue? Perhaps some update or android programming can help me?
View 1 Replies View RelatedWith the old 1.6 software on my X10, the lack of an automatic screen lock when in an active call was mildly annoying, as not all areas of the screen were active. However, with the new 2.1, just about anywhere on the screen becomes active (especially when juggling two simultaneous calls). What are the chances that we'll see a 'lock screen' function for phone calls?

View 1 Replies View Relatedtouch screen is nice - but my blackberry likes to dial my contacts by itself and one of these days someone is going to hear somthing that I do not want heard!!
It is no a phone to carry in your pants pocket that is for sure - I have bought the hard shell carrying holster for my belt and it still will call by itself - i have been trying to get into the habit of locking it and this still does not prevent it from somehow unlocking itself and phoning my contacts without my permission.
Whenever I carried my iPhone in a pant pocket it would inadvertently activate voice control and take any further noise or touch as a command to dial the most recently dialed number. I know that this normally happens when the home button is pressed for a few seconds.Â
Yet, after I had disabled Siri, set the screen to lock, plus I had the code protection in place, Siri would still start up and dial phone numbers.Â
The only solution, that I have found in this forum, is to enable Siri, enable code protection and then disable Siri in the code protection menu. This is not acceptable.Â

My Storm 9500 is driving me crazy: Out of the blue (mainly at night) by itself and without touching it, it activates the camera, takes pictures and then dials random people ... On contact had 48 missed calls from my phone at one night. Problem is probably due to the OS, so I updated to Version 5.0; however the problem still exists ...

View 7 Replies View RelatedI can't seem to find settings to access the screen menu when on a call, it won't let me change volume or anything! I was able to set the power button to hang up when on a call but the screen stays dark and I can't access it at all.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI dropped my phone I've had for the past 2 years for the last time. I need to access my contacts but I guess when it hit the ground the face buttons got disconnected so I can't do anything at all. I'm due to get my new phone this tuesday and I have a couple hundred contacts, most are important. What should I do? I've tried syncing it and backing it up but that's only for the media card. I can't access the device memory to get into the contacts. I also have like a bajillion texts left unchecked.

I am going on holiday tonight and I'd really like it to work, its kinda essential.
I have never booted or flashed as its a bit beyond me and thats the only solutions I can find.
Is it just me or contact from lock screen gets a decent amount of delay before opening? When i tap on contacts from home screen it opens instantly but from a lock screen i get like a second.
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhy is my screen periodically flashing on and off whilst phone is locked? There is no pattern to it and the screen will come on and then go off about 5 times and then stop.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWhen I make or receive a call and am talking on the phone, two things can happen:-
1) The keypad disappears which means if I want to end the call I need to press 'phone' to get the keypad up again to then end the call.
2) The phone locks while I am talking (but am still able to carry on the conversation). Therefore I need to unlock and then press phone to make sure I've ended a call.
I have had my S5 for about a month or two now and have been having a problem with the screen waking in my pocket. I'm guessing the home or power button is being pressed which is fine but I need the screen to turn back off in a reasonable amount of time. There is a setting called "Screen timeout" but no "Lock screen timeout" like I used to have on my S3. Maybe I'm missing something but it seems like both the screen timeout and the lock screen timeout are both controlled by this one setting. Just about every 20 minutes I feel my pocket getting hot and sure enough, the screen has been on for who knows how long.

View 9 Replies View RelatedDoes anybody know if the touch screen on the ES400 can activated/deactivated whilst making calls? The problem is, that as the hangup or mute are availabe functions for use, when you are on a call and have the device pressed against your ear/cheek you can either put the phone on mute, or even cut the caller off completely. It would need to be a function to switch on and off, as you may need to use the screen to turn hands free on etc.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI installed LockInfo a while ago. I got everything working fine, downloaded it and plugins fine. I got them all from the same repo as I was advised to do that, and everything seemed to be working fine. Everything was up to date etc.
I received an SMS, and instead of it appearing under the SMS on LockInfo, which it does, it appears as well by the annoying Apple notification box.
I still want my phone to light up when I received a text message and the text message to be displayed under the SMS tab in LockInfo, but how do I get rid of the Apple notification box? I saw when configuring the app there was some thing about quick replying to texts and there was a list to choose form. Would any of those get rid of the Apple alert?
I've recently made the switch back to android from an iPhone after quite a few years and I'm trying to re-familiarize myself with android's operating system and work out what I need to change and using this phone I noticed the notifications lacking, so I set up DashClock and DashNotifier and so far I love it. It does exactly what I want it to do for all the apps I have set up with it except for the notifications coming through the 'Messages' app on the phone for text messages.
When receiving a text message my lock screen ignores that I've set up DashClock as my default lock screen and pulls up the original lock screen with the quite ugly 'New Message' notification (as seen in the attached picture). If I scroll to the right DashClock is open and showing the message notification just fine. I've tried to disable the lock screen notifications for the 'Messages' app but haven't been successful in removing it. Is there a way to just have the 'Messages' app give lock screen notifications on the top bar and none like in the image below, or is there a work around within DashClock/DashNotifier or some other application that would fix this? My phone is running Android 4.4.2.
So I have been searching & have even spent money on trying to find a dot lock for the apple iphone 4s and dont seem to find it , does apple have it ? why or why not ?

I'm running the Storm2 on 580. For weeks I haven't had a single option, and all of a sudden multiple times in 2 days I have this issue:While my phone is in my pocket, I pull it out, and unlock the screen. The screen is hard, but not unclickable. So when I click on messages or anything else it opens it and closes it, because it double clicks. Usually the bottom keys click but don't function. I have to lock the screen and turn it back on after a few seconds or a minute later for it to function. The double clicking and it closes the app is really annoying. It only happens when it's in my pants.
I think what happens is that since the screen is TOWARDS my leg, and my leg may hit the bottom buttons, it presses it or something like that. And after a few times of that happening unexpectedly the screen does something. I don't know. Any ideas? Could this be an OS issue? I doubt it's a hardware since it ONLY happens with my jeans and in my pocket.
when I have disconnected battery and changed screen, now the screen is just black and the phone just double vibrates constantly when plugged into charger. sk basically screen is like dead, I tried old screen back in and same, but if was v damaged anyway with green screen and lines. But now just get black screen. iTunes recognises if and allowed me to restore but again same problem. Don't know whether to try another new screen.

My contacts are constantly being deleted on its own after an update restore went wrong.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAnyone ever see this? My contacts constantly freeze, sometimes to the point where it takes 5 minutes to work through the kill all apps, force close, wait, etc to get to the dialpad or contact names and make a call. Not farmiliar enough with Android to figure this out.One of the reoccuring messages is - Activity Dialer (in application Contacts Storage) is not responding - Force Closed/ WaitI believe it has something to do with the contacts because I have also loaded the app Tikl, and when it asks for my contacts there is 20 or so of the same contact and it then freezes when I try to scroll through them...I have deleted a few apps that appeared to run without being loaded. I use Battery Dr. to kill the apps.
