Xperia Ray :: Screen Periodically Flashes On And Off Whilst Phone Is Locked
Jan 16, 2012
Why is my screen periodically flashing on and off whilst phone is locked? There is no pattern to it and the screen will come on and then go off about 5 times and then stop.
My phone has locked up whilst downloading an app, I have tried a soft and hard reset and the phone wont connect to my computer, the desktop animation in the background is working though, can anyone tell me how to reset my phone?
When I make or receive a call and am talking on the phone, two things can happen:-
1) The keypad disappears which means if I want to end the call I need to press 'phone' to get the keypad up again to then end the call. 2) The phone locks while I am talking (but am still able to carry on the conversation). Therefore I need to unlock and then press phone to make sure I've ended a call.
I have a Xperia mini and it keeps periodically coming up with a black screen and unable to charge, also the speaker has gone really quiet so i can't hear calls very well.
With the old 1.6 software on my X10, the lack of an automatic screen lock when in an active call was mildly annoying, as not all areas of the screen were active. However, with the new 2.1, just about anywhere on the screen becomes active (especially when juggling two simultaneous calls). What are the chances that we'll see a 'lock screen' function for phone calls?
I can't seem to find settings to access the screen menu when on a call, it won't let me change volume or anything! I was able to set the power button to hang up when on a call but the screen stays dark and I can't access it at all.
I recently sent in my Z3 to the Sony repair center for some reception issues. When it came back, My phone is locked with the message on the top left of the screen saying "SIM Is Perso Locked". I now have to enter a SIM network unlock PIN which I do not have. I have called Sony and they could not provide a code. I have received one from my phone carrier (Wind Mobile) but that did not work.Is my phone now locked to Wind Mobile? And how would I receive a proper unlock code?
On 7 seperate occaisons my phone has dialled South Korea without my knowledge or input. I was asleep on 4 of these occasions and was definately not using my phone on the others. I have never called a south korean number. I have and have since I got the phone barred outgoing international calls in the settings menu but my phone still makes these calls.
Screen unlock pattern failed 20 times, phone is now locked pending google username and password, which I have enter hundreds of times with no success, I know the username and password is correct as I can log in via PC and view latest downloads on my phone etc.
Have tried to repair the phone via PC companion, everytime the download begins an error message comes up "unable to start update"
Have been to the optus shop and contacted sony over the phone, being told by optus that my phone is 7 days over its warranty and it will cost me to unlock, Sony helpdesk advised that it was "Easy" to fix and i just needed to repair the phone via PC companion, which clearly is not as easy as stated. I am left without a phone which is badly affecting my work, I have been told it will take at least 2 weeks for the phone to be unlocked if it is done by the provider, google password is not working.
Start the default clock app.Set the timer/countdown to 5s.Choose a sound for the timer/countdown that has a duration of at least 2s.Start the timer.Press the Power key to turn off the screen or to lock the phone.
Result: After about 5s, the timer alarm sounds for about 0.5s and is mute afterwards. If there's music playing in the background (from the walkman app), you may get just a short 'blank' in the audio stream (also about 0.5s long).
I tap "ok" and the message comes back again. The strange thing is that the message is in spanish (I have my phone in English and that the lockscreen photo has dissapeared and the xperia theme is there now.
It seems like the phone is working ok in the background, but I cannot access the homescreen.
I can take screenshots, change the volume, etc. and as I could access the phone's internal and sdcard I made all the backups as possible.
Since the last update when I hit the power button to turn the screen on it flashes a whitish tinge not totally white I can still see the lock screen picture very annoying.
I have recently upgraded my android version to 4.0, i don't know if the cause comes from the upgrade, but some times when i start a game on my phone the screen keeps flashing when i reload the game the screen is back to normal. Is there a fix or something for this?
I have a sony xperia z2. Last week I had the front screen replaced.
last night my phone was on 2% and turned off, i didnt think much of it and when i got into bed put it on charge like i normally would..
the screen flashes up for a second or sony with the sony icon but then cuts out and when i have woken up this morning it is still doing this.
i have held the volume up button and the power on buttom, but nothing happens it doesn't even vibrate. I have also pressed the red button at the left hand side of the phone but again this doesn't seem to be doing anything.
Phone is set to ring volume set to high.Rings for the first few calls then stops ringing and just flashes led light until I restart phone. Then above scenarios occurred again. This has happened with the 3 different firmware I have flashed.
Nordic 690 UK 726 3UK 726 PC companion doesn't work. Never happened on KitKat and a factory reset doesn't work either.
Periodically I go to turn the display on via the power button and the screen is either completely black (powered off) or I only see a blue led light flash in the indicator area. My only way to power on the phone is to pull the battery, replace and power back on.
Periodically the screen will lock up on my Xyboard. It is not a system crash/lock. This is where the screen stops reacting to touch. Usually putting it in sleep mode with the power button and then waking it clears the problem. Other times it requires a hard reset -- hold power and volume down.
I've had this issue twice on my RAZR since I got it in December. I've had it happen at least 5 times on my Xyboard since I got it Feb 1st.
so I dropped my phone from a height of about 2 feet today. The back came off and the battery fell out. I put the battery back in and turned on the phone. It vibrated signalling it was turning on, then the backlight came on, then the backlight switched off, and that was it.Now the backlight turns on and off periodically. I can't do anything with it. It won't connect to the computer or chargeI've only had the phone for 4 days. There's no wear and tear damage and no scratches or bumps from the fallI've tried the software update, but that didn't work.I'm wondering is there a way to fix it?Do I just leave turn on & off till it sorts itself out?
We have the Xperia Ray and it has been working fine for about 6 weeks until the other day when the screen stopped working and we are therefore unable to access the phone. We have tried to repair the software twice and that did not work and obviously we are unable to do the reset as not able to access the phone systems.
Every time Iam on phone it keeps switching between handset and headset auto and very fast so it keeps cutting every second I installed new bbm .65 everythink working fine then I mistakely downloaded .57 cancelled it when I rebooted phone no bbm, so I reinstalled .65 bbm and it was really laggy and slow so I reinstalled it again and now that is happening to my phone?
My fingerprint feature was working fine...then suddenly it wasn't. I have the same fingers today that I had yesterday. So I'm then prompted to change my password via gmail. Did that. Didn't work. Tried hundreds of times now and I'm never prompted to try through gmail again. Logged into my Google Device Manager and Sprint told me (via another phone) I should see an option to UNLOCK the device, yet, only the LOCK option appears as if the phone is lost. Tried that new numeric code set using GDM...doesn't work. I refuse to factory reset.
I have had my Bold 9900 for less than 3 months and in the last week I have experienced the following issue: The screen stays lit up constantly, which is making the battery run out very quickly. When I press the lock button the screen turns off for about 5 seconds, then lights up again, and stays lit. I can't see anything in the Options menu that will fix it. As I say, the problem has only been occurring in the last week.
when i'm in a phone call i can't use the mobile phone at all. I mean i get locked in the calling screen and i'm unable to move to desktop, go to drawer menu or just pick some app from recent menu. It didn't happen on other Android phones nor on my old Samsung Galaxy S3.
My screen automatically turn on even after I lock it my battery is draining fast because it wont go black unless I lock it again then after a few seconds it will turn on again even if I didn't touch it! My screen time out is in 30 seconds mode.
