When I connect other BB, I can see in the DM that there is a 6th icon called IP modem to connect as a wireless internet IP modem, but how come in my 9700 I can't do that?

I searched the posted messages, but I didn't find the same problem. Iīm using my cellphone (Nokia E63) as a modem for my computer, connected with the Nokia CA-101 cable. The local company offers until 1Mb/sec download speed, but most of the time it comes with only 200b/sec. Sending is with 128Kb/sec, but the max download speed is 52Kb/sec. I think itīs somewhere in the drivers, but unfortunately I donīt know where. I was 3 times with the local phone company, but they cannīt (will not) help me. Anybody knows an answer?
I try to use my E52 as modem connected to my PC trrough bluetooth, but when I create a dial-ip on the PC ans "dial", I see nothing appearing on the E52 (no number), just like if the E52 was not dialing. After a minute, I get a message that the modem is out of order. I have also tried by cable connection, and I have the same issue.
I just got the phone and I want to connect to the internet via wifi. I tried to go on but it can't seem to find my wireless modem. Can someone please help me? I really want to download some apps for it!
I have problem for connecting N79 to PC I use OVI Suite version 2.2.0.245. when i connect PC to internet via OVI suite for first time , there isnt any problem and connects to internet and all webpages completely are loaded , but after a few minutes my browser doesnt work and doesnt load any page and shows " server not found". but the connection between the PC and mobile still exists. after that i disconnect the connection and reconnect but this time the connection doesnt establish and shows an error with the content of "PPP link". after that i go to "device manager" and disable the Nokia GSM Modem and then enable that. then i connect PC to internet via OVI Suite with no problem AGAIN!. there isnt any problem for loading page But AGAIN after some minutes the browser doesnt work ! recently I reinstalled windows XP, but still nothing changes!. even i use latest Nokia Connectivity cable driver version 7.1.31.0. my cellphone has RM-348
I've been using my 5800 for about six months but now I'm having trouble using the phone as a modem connected to my laptop via USB. I can get an internet through the handset on its own, but when I try to connect through PC Suite, i get a message saying 'Failed to establish a connection'.The modem service USED to work; first time, every time. The only thing I can think of is that it stopped working after I updated the phone software. Has anyone else encountered this & know of a fix? I'd prefer a quick solution before I start with backing everything up, factory resets etc.I'm using the latest phone software & PC Suite, Windows Vista & I'm on the Vodafone UK network. Like I said, it all USED to work perfectly.
If I'd like to use E52 as data modem, I suppose I can connect the PC to E52 over bluetooth (dial-up profile) and in this way to provide my PC with an Internet connection (over E52).But is that possible via much faster WLAN?
How do I provide modem software/functionality to the users but NOT installing the Nokia PC Suite or Ovi.Our E series devices sync with MfE with Exchange. Our Windows laptops are blocked for software installations. So to install company wide 100 MB of Ovi software on the Windows laptops is a bridge too far, but I want provide our laptop users the modem functionality (UMTS, HSDPA) of the E series in combination woth a laptop if no Wifi, Hotspot or Ethernet network is avialable. Is there a modem app available for E Series devices, which can be installed on laptops?
i have a n95 8gb, which i'm using as a modem to connect to the internet. actually i'm using it right now. he problem is, that when i add a usb extension cable (3m) to extend the cable that came with the phone, the internet connection breaks after a (short) while. especially when downloading large amounts of data, such as when viewing Internet videos. it works for a while, then stops. if i disconnect and reconnect, it works again. for a while.
i am using windows 7 64bit, home premium edition. i have installed the latest drivers and pc suite. the latest ovi suite as well, but i'm not using it and it is not running. i doubt it is a software problem since the problem only seems to occur when i add an extension cable. the reason i add the cable is that i get a much better signal a few metres away from my computer, and thus much higher internet speed. could it be that the higher speed is a problem? that is the only non-hardware problem i can seem to think of at the moment............
I have an e71-3 on the '3' network.I can connect my phone to my laptop and use it as a modem, using the USB cable... but it ALWAYS drops out. It hasn't made it to 1 hour of connection time yet -> and dropped out about 30 times before one hour.Average seems to be at around 25 minutes, but, last night was 47 minutes, and this morning i checked at 15minutes 30secs and it had already dropped out.Is this something that updating firmware can fix? Or am I just left with a stuffed phone that I can't use as a modem? Is it worth trying a different program to connect to the internet? (I doubt it?).
I have a 3 year old Nokia N72, in excellent condition except the paint. I dont have any problems with my phone as such for calling purposes. But I do have problems connecting to internet via my PC running windows 7. All the drivers are correctly installed but the phone wont dial a connection. I get the error.Error 692: There was a hardware failure in the modem (or other connecting device).
I have set up a WLAN access point on the phone to access the internet and email via my wireless modem/router.Problem is, once I make one internet connection, it doesn't allow me to make another or to connect to email, even after the first connection was closed.
If I delete the WLAN access point, I can access the internet and email no problem but I need to select the WLAN and enter the key first.Seems like a problem with my WLAN access point settings.
Previously I was using Nokia E7 from which I can use device as modem and can connect to internet on PC via USB cable thru Nokia PC Suite, Now I have change my device and using Nokia Lumia 610. How can use this device as modem and can connect to internet on PC via USB cable as this iphone does not connect to PC Suite and Zune in only used for media and photo sharing purpose. There is not option to connect to internet in zune
Nokia Internet Modem displays in the device selection dropdownlist the word "Ricerca..." (italian word for "Searching...", i think); when I connect the stick to usb the device selection displays "Inizializzazione di Nokia.." (in english Initialization of Nokia...); after 1 second the device selection return to display "Ricerca" and after 10 seconds it shows "inizializzazione di Nokia.." for 1 second and so on.
My PC has Windows 7 64-bit Pro, also has Windows XP Mode (Virtual PC). On Windows 7, I installed Nokia PC Suite 7.1.40.6, coming with Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver 7.1.23.0. When I connect Nokia N95 as USB modem, I can download for a short period about 20 - 40 seconds. Download speed is approx 2.8 - 3 Mbps and 350 kbps for upload. After that data loading seems to be stopped. So I have to disconnect and re-dial again to make it work for another short period. Sometimes, when I changed COM port settings to toggle between use and not use FIFO buffer, it seemed to help prolong the connection a little longer. But finally it will stop anyway.
However on the same PC, in Windows XP Mode, I installed Nokia Connectivity Cable Driver 7.1.22.0, I do not have any connection problem with USB modem (attached to XP). I can download / upload data with no issues. Slower data speed in XP mode (1.5-1.7 Mbps) seems to be normal anyway. It seems to me that the driver may have issue with data flow control and or error correction with Windows 7. I suspect that Nokia cable driver may not be fully compatible with Windows 7 yet. Is there anyone having the same issue with Windows 7?
I have had a Nokia N95 for a couple of years now and sometime ago I found it more convenient to connect this to PC Suite using Bluetooth which gave me more scope to move the phone around to get a stronger signal as I use it's modem for my PC internet connection.
Following good practice I have always configured my PC's to have an Admin account and a limited user account for everyday use. Since using the bluetooth connection I find that as soon as I log out of the limited user account in order to log in as the administrator to install or update some software, I find I can no longer connect to the internet. It seems as though PC Suite cannot access the modem even though PC Suite appears to have connected to the phone ok. The only way I have found to solve the issue is to unpair and re-pair the phone which results in the Connection Manager reinstalling the bluetooth modem, which appears to reset / refresh things. Of course as soon as I log out of the admin user and return to the limited user I have to repeat the unpair /pair process again. I have been through several Nokia PC Suite updates which have completed without reporting any errors and have done fresh install when reinstalling XP but this has always been a persistant problem.I wonder if this scenario ever featured in any testing before PC Suite was released but it should be straight forward enough for anyone to replicate this issue using bluetooth.
I had hoped that when the new Ovi Suite option popped up within PC Suite that this update would have fixed this but unfortunately no such luck.

I have discovered that if Nokia Messaging is running on my N97 mini, using the "Internet" connection, it's impossible to use te the same time phone's modem, trying to connect to the Internet through a PC. In this case an error 734 is issued by WIndows (PPP connection terminated). The trick is to disconnect Nokia messaging; doing so will lead to a successful connection from the PC.
I have a Nokia e6. I have Nokia Ovi Suite installed on my PC. I wish to access my phone's interent on my desktop computer through Bluetooth. I don't know how to set it up.
