Jan 18, 2010I am using a Nokia 6301 as a bluetooth modem with my laptop. Would a USB broadband dongle be any faster?

Feb 10, 2010I spent an afternoon trying to have my new BT dongle (reeking transparent 2.0) working and after a lot of problem I won. When I rebooted my PC (xp sp3) and launched again Ovi suite I had no problems but now Ovi can't see my N82, while PC and phone are connected! One time I somehow got Ovi to see N82 but I had to add it as a new device, even if I already did before.

Aug 1, 2010I have a Nokia 6301, which i love dearly (unlocked, unbranded, etc...)my kid recently dropped it (yet again), and the top screen cracked. Not the actual LCD display - it all displays just fine, it's just the outside that has the crack, like if I go over the display of the phone with my fingernail, I'll feel it.This is purely cosmetic, but I'd like to replace this top screen.Anyone know what it's called so i can buy it on ebay? Jan 9, 2010I've been using my 5800 for about six months but now I'm having trouble using the phone as a modem connected to my laptop via USB. I can get an internet through the handset on its own, but when I try to connect through PC Suite, i get a message saying 'Failed to establish a connection'.The modem service USED to work; first time, every time. The only thing I can think of is that it stopped working after I updated the phone software. Has anyone else encountered this & know of a fix? I'd prefer a quick solution before I start with backing everything up, factory resets etc.I'm using the latest phone software & PC Suite, Windows Vista & I'm on the Vodafone UK network. Like I said, it all USED to work perfectly.

Aug 2, 2010I have discovered that if Nokia Messaging is running on my N97 mini, using the "Internet" connection, it's impossible to use te the same time phone's modem, trying to connect to the Internet through a PC. In this case an error 734 is issued by WIndows (PPP connection terminated). The trick is to disconnect Nokia messaging; doing so will lead to a successful connection from the PC.

The problem is that I cant use my phone as an internet modem via bluetooth with Microsoft bluetooth stack (everything else works). I tried the BlueSoleil 6.4.299.0 driver and it works fine but I do not want to pay extra 19.95 euros for the driver.

Some contributors to a topic some time ago said that the x64 driver for the CS-15 also worked for the CS-10. However I can't see any support drivers on the Nokia site for either of these two units.

Mar 25, 2010Problem receiving data when my SAMSUNG SGH T439 acts a data modem. Sending data is OK. I do not need to connect to the Internet. My setup consists of the following:
CALLING SIDE:
PC running Hyperterminal and T439 connected to PC with either Bluetooth or USB cable.
CALLED SIDE:
PC running Hyperterminal and either an internal PC data modem or a cellphone connected
with a USB cable.
CALLING SIDE: ATDT1234567 data (NOT voice) phone number of CALLED side
CALLED SIDE: RING ATA answer
CALLING SIDE: CONNECT 9600 data modems connected
CALLED SIDE: CONNECT
CALLING SIDE: type on keyboard to send data to CALLED side sending data is OK
CALLED SIDE: sees data that CALLING side typed
CALLING SIDE: does NOT see data that CALLED side typed receiving data FAILS
CALLED SIDE: type on keyboard to send data to CALLING side
When I use a MOTOROLA V3T instead of SAMSUNG SGH-T439, sending and receiving data is OK. Samsung technical Level 3 help says it is a carrier (T-MOBILE) problem. It does not seem to be a carrier problem if it works with a MOTO cellphone.

I'd happily trade fifty live wallpapers for the functionality, I find it absolutely crazy that if I want to connect my pc to the internet using my phone as a modem, I needed to dust off my ancient SE Walkman phone, while my spiffy new Mini Pro couldn't help via Bluetooth or USB.

I called Tmobile and was told that while they no longer support it, it could be done but that Tmobile would not provide me with directions to do so.
