I followed all the steps yesterday, downloaded the blackberry manager to my laptop, set up my configuration, and was connected for 10 mins. A phone call came through and after that I have been unable to use my phone as a modem.

When I connect other BB, I can see in the DM that there is a 6th icon called IP modem to connect as a wireless internet IP modem, but how come in my 9700 I can't do that?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been using my 5800 for about six months but now I'm having trouble using the phone as a modem connected to my laptop via USB. I can get an internet through the handset on its own, but when I try to connect through PC Suite, i get a message saying 'Failed to establish a connection'.The modem service USED to work; first time, every time. The only thing I can think of is that it stopped working after I updated the phone software. Has anyone else encountered this & know of a fix? I'd prefer a quick solution before I start with backing everything up, factory resets etc.I'm using the latest phone software & PC Suite, Windows Vista & I'm on the Vodafone UK network. Like I said, it all USED to work perfectly.

View 1 Replies View RelatedProblem receiving data when my SAMSUNG SGH T439 acts a data modem. Sending data is OK. I do not need to connect to the Internet. My setup consists of the following:
CALLING SIDE:
PC running Hyperterminal and T439 connected to PC with either Bluetooth or USB cable.
CALLED SIDE:
PC running Hyperterminal and either an internal PC data modem or a cellphone connected
with a USB cable.
CALLING SIDE: ATDT1234567 data (NOT voice) phone number of CALLED side
CALLED SIDE: RING ATA answer
CALLING SIDE: CONNECT 9600 data modems connected
CALLED SIDE: CONNECT
CALLING SIDE: type on keyboard to send data to CALLED side sending data is OK
CALLED SIDE: sees data that CALLING side typed
CALLING SIDE: does NOT see data that CALLED side typed receiving data FAILS
CALLED SIDE: type on keyboard to send data to CALLING side
When I use a MOTOROLA V3T instead of SAMSUNG SGH-T439, sending and receiving data is OK. Samsung technical Level 3 help says it is a carrier (T-MOBILE) problem. It does not seem to be a carrier problem if it works with a MOTO cellphone.
I know that for Android devices USB tethering is only going to become possible from 2.2 Froyo, but I haven't seen an explanation for *why* such an important feature was omitted from 2.1 Eclair. I'd happily trade fifty live wallpapers for the functionality, I find it absolutely crazy that if I want to connect my pc to the internet using my phone as a modem, I needed to dust off my ancient SE Walkman phone, while my spiffy new Mini Pro couldn't help via Bluetooth or USB.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have discovered that if Nokia Messaging is running on my N97 mini, using the "Internet" connection, it's impossible to use te the same time phone's modem, trying to connect to the Internet through a PC. In this case an error 734 is issued by WIndows (PPP connection terminated). The trick is to disconnect Nokia messaging; doing so will lead to a successful connection from the PC.

The problem is that I cant use my phone as an internet modem via bluetooth with Microsoft bluetooth stack (everything else works). I tried the BlueSoleil 6.4.299.0 driver and it works fine but I do not want to pay extra 19.95 euros for the driver.
I am having problem tethering my bold 9700 to my pc for use as a modem. I am on Tmobile service and am running Vista OS. I called Tmobile and was told that while they no longer support it, it could be done but that Tmobile would not provide me with directions to do so. Is there anyone out there that can give a technology challenged nerd like me step by step instructions to tether my 9700 to my pc with Windows vista. I have searched the forums and cannot find anything that fits what I need, instructions given are for other carriers than Tmobile and/or for Mac OS or Windows XP. The local company offers until 1Mb/sec download speed, but most of the time it comes with only 200b/sec. Sending is with 128Kb/sec, but the max download speed is 52Kb/sec. I think itīs somewhere in the drivers, but unfortunately I donīt know where. I was 3 times with the local phone company, but they cannīt (will not) help me. Anybody knows an answer?
