I noticed I can't receive calls while using the gps on my x6. A call went right to voicemail. Is that normal? I'm also thinking of trying to use my x6 as an internet modem. Can I still receive and make calls while the x6 is tethered as a modem?
View 5 RepliesI've been using my 5800 for about six months but now I'm having trouble using the phone as a modem connected to my laptop via USB. I can get an internet through the handset on its own, but when I try to connect through PC Suite, i get a message saying 'Failed to establish a connection'.The modem service USED to work; first time, every time. The only thing I can think of is that it stopped working after I updated the phone software. Has anyone else encountered this & know of a fix? I'd prefer a quick solution before I start with backing everything up, factory resets etc.I'm using the latest phone software & PC Suite, Windows Vista & I'm on the Vodafone UK network. Like I said, it all USED to work perfectly.

View 12 Replies View RelatedI have discovered that if Nokia Messaging is running on my N97 mini, using the "Internet" connection, it's impossible to use te the same time phone's modem, trying to connect to the Internet through a PC. In this case an error 734 is issued by WIndows (PPP connection terminated). The trick is to disconnect Nokia messaging; doing so will lead to a successful connection from the PC.

The problem is that I cant use my phone as an internet modem via bluetooth with Microsoft bluetooth stack (everything else works). I tried the BlueSoleil 6.4.299.0 driver and it works fine but I do not want to pay extra 19.95 euros for the driver.
Never had problems with Nokia in the past, and after happily purchasing a Nokia X6-00 16GB in the month of March of this year, my thoughts on Nokia only reinforced WHY i've always gone with Nokia.
Now, i purchased the phone when i was living in England, i moved back to Cyprus in April shortly after the purchase and got the phone unlocked, put in a Cypriot Sim card with CytaMobile. Everything was just great.
This past month as been slightly less of a joy though, out of no fault of my own, the phone seems to stop recieving and making calls, all calls get diverted to my answer phone, and to solve this problem i have had to turn the phone off, then back on again. Problem solved.
That was until this morning. I can still recieve texts but if someone attempts to call me, they are greeted with a 'beep' and then the phone call ends on their end.
For me i am greeted with deadly silence, then a little notification saying 'No Answer'.
I have restarted the phone;
Restored Factory Settings'
Upgraded to the latest firmware it will let me, being v20;
Still no luck, i am hoping it is not an internal problem with the phone, as in Cyprus as far as 'Offical' nokia care points are non-existant. The SIM card is on a contract, so if my phone had been cut off, so would my messaging and my internet which are all still in-use, and work just fine without problems.
On another note, if you are unable to find a cause for that problem, maybe you can give me a quick reasoning on why the phone shuts itself off when i choose the facebook application on occasions. Again only over the past month has this been happening.
I followed all the steps yesterday, downloaded the blackberry manager to my laptop, set up my configuration, and was connected for 10 mins. A phone call came through and after that I have been unable to use my phone as a modem.

CALLING SIDE:
PC running Hyperterminal and T439 connected to PC with either Bluetooth or USB cable.
CALLED SIDE:
PC running Hyperterminal and either an internal PC data modem or a cellphone connected
with a USB cable.
CALLING SIDE: ATDT1234567 data (NOT voice) phone number of CALLED side
CALLED SIDE: RING ATA answer
CALLING SIDE: CONNECT 9600 data modems connected
CALLED SIDE: CONNECT
CALLING SIDE: type on keyboard to send data to CALLED side sending data is OK

When I use a MOTOROLA V3T instead of SAMSUNG SGH-T439, sending and receiving data is OK. Samsung technical Level 3 help says it is a carrier (T-MOBILE) problem. It does not seem to be a carrier problem if it works with a MOTO cellphone.
I know that for Android devices USB tethering is only going to become possible from 2.2 Froyo, but I haven't seen an explanation for *why* such an important feature was omitted from 2.1 Eclair. I'd happily trade fifty live wallpapers for the functionality, I find it absolutely crazy that if I want to connect my pc to the internet using my phone as a modem, I needed to dust off my ancient SE Walkman phone, while my spiffy new Mini Pro couldn't help via Bluetooth or USB.

I have a rooted HTC Hero and I've previously used my phone's internet sharing mode succesfully but now it won't work. I called Sprint and they said they no longer support phone as modem but I luckily spoke to a tech that told me it is possibly and told me to ask around about how to get it to work.

I called Tmobile and was told that while they no longer support it, it could be done but that Tmobile would not provide me with directions to do so. With my iPhone I used to be able to put the phone number with three commas and then the passcode to the conference call in the meeting request (format = 555-555-5555,,,12121212#). By using this format my customers could just click the link in their iPhone and it would auto-dial the conference number along with the passcode so that they did not have to remember the passcode while driving.
Example: 555-555-5555,,,12121212#. (autohyperlink for iOS)
VS
555-555-5555 Passcode 12121212 then press # (caller can hyperlink the phone number but has to remember the passcode and dial it while driving...)
By using this format you could just click the number and it would dial the number pause then auto add the passcode and # to enter the conference call. I think Blackberry used to use a similar format to achieve the same thing.
Can calls to the 4S be automatically diverted to a land-line phone if mobile phone switched off or out of a signal area?

I started having this strange bug: for no apparent reason, suddenly every phone call i try to make ends after 1-2 seconds, before even reaching the recipient. Only way to resolve it is restarting the phone. After a while the problem can repeat itself randomly.

I bought my 5530 xpressmusic a couple of weeks ago. and it works just fine with me. until last week, the network operator logo at the top of homescreen disappeared as well as the date and my current profile setting. the only thing left at the top is the signal bar, time, and the battery bar.my friends call me often and i seem to have no problem with taking incoming calls, so i just left my homescreen that way. last night, when i tried to call my mom's phone an error showed up and it says "Emergency Calls Only". must've accidently clicked something to make it that way, but i dont know what. what should i do?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am using Mail for Exchange, my company forces the phone to lock after 10 minutes of idle time.When I get a phonecall when the phone is locked, there is no way that you can have access tto normal phonecall functions as <Mute> and <Speaker> during a phonecall. And you can not unlock without breaking the call.Yes when you receive a call ther is a green <answer> and a blue <unlock> slider. Howvever when swipng the <unlock> you can only choose between <answer> and <reject> and there is [Option] that gives you access to <answer> or <reject> aswell.In other words no access to phone functions, No way you can activate the speaker on the phone when you were called while the phone was locked. This is quite useless and in my opinion a design flaw.
