PC companion comes with phone but I guess that is not useful to connect to internet as I didn't see any option to connect to the internet on it. Can you please suggest me any software that I have to download and install on pc so that I can use my phone as modem and can use internet from it?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI often use wireless, but sometimes it has poor signal and is impossible to use so I also use simple mobile internet. Usually the phone using opera mini asks if you want to use mobile internet (not wireless) but now it almost never does, so I get the connection error message as there is no wireless, but I also cannot use my mobile internet. Just today it gave me problems because of that. So bassicly, I cannot use internet, unless I have good wireless signal. And I have mobile internet as priority number 1 in my settings. So is there something else to do? This problem is appearing and dissapearing. Thought could be from bad wireless, it kinda locks itself on it or something, but turning off the phone doesn't help.
View 9 Replies View Relatedmy PC was able to connect to the internet with my 5800 via a USB cable. Now, I can no longer connect to the internet with the 5800 via a USB cable. I had never tried connecting the computer to the internet with the 5800 via Bluetooth prior to this incident, so I tried that. Strangely, it works. My question is how come I can no longer use the 5800 via USB as a modem, but how come the 5800 via Bluetooth still works as a working modem? Sorry, if my sentences are confusing. I have a terrible headache at the moment. While the Bluetooth connection works, I just feel better using the USB connection and knowing that my 5800 has a clean bill of health. BTW, my PC is on Windows 7 Professional at the moment. I've tried uninstalling the Ovi Suite and reinstalling it, but that didn't work. I've also tried using PC suite instead of the Ovi Suite but that didn't work either. What other options do I have, beside hard resetting the phone? Edit: BTW, the message shown when I tried to connect to the internet with the 5800 USB modem was "failed to establish a network connection".

For now I have walk around and enforce my phone to ask for password before each connection but it make using Nokia 5800 a little bit annoying. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an xpressmusic 5800 and have been using wireless through my home router (and others access points) with no problems for months. I cleared my page history a few days ago and since then (not sure if it related or not) I have been unable to connect to the internet either through my home router, a friends router or O2 active.
The phone crashed several times, shutting down and empyting the battery in the process, and after searching support forums I moved some files around to increase my phones memory space to 65MB. This appears to have stopped the crashing but I am still unable to connect. When I click on the internet symbol the screen goes black for up to 1 minute, then the connecting bar appears but nothing else happens, if left it just stays on that screen. I have my home router set as priority 1 in the connectivity > destinations list.
Mode = Infrastructure
Security = WPA/WPA2

View 4 Replies View RelatedNokia have finally updated 5800 FW but i am unable to download it because the NSU isn't working correctly. Everytime I open the program I get the message; "Nokia Software Updater has attempted to connect to the internet but has failed three times. This could be because of a poor-quality, slow or intermittent internet connection, or restrictions due to a firewall.
If requested by your firewall, Nokia Software Updater needs the following applications to gain access to the internet:
nsl_host_process.exe
nsu_u_clienti.exe" The program will then close down.
I have a good, steady internet connection (10mb) and all firewalls are off.
I've been using my 5800 for about six months but now I'm having trouble using the phone as a modem connected to my laptop via USB. I can get an internet through the handset on its own, but when I try to connect through PC Suite, i get a message saying 'Failed to establish a connection'.The modem service USED to work; first time, every time. The only thing I can think of is that it stopped working after I updated the phone software. Has anyone else encountered this & know of a fix? I'd prefer a quick solution before I start with backing everything up, factory resets etc.I'm using the latest phone software & PC Suite, Windows Vista & I'm on the Vodafone UK network. Like I said, it all USED to work perfectly.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have set up a WLAN access point on the phone to access the internet and email via my wireless modem/router.Problem is, once I make one internet connection, it doesn't allow me to make another or to connect to email, even after the first connection was closed.
If I delete the WLAN access point, I can access the internet and email no problem but I need to select the WLAN and enter the key first.Seems like a problem with my WLAN access point settings.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with my e72-1 at the moment. It's either the phone, the ovi software.I have the following: Nokia e72 < acts as modem via cable or bluetooth > laptop..When it acts over modem via either cable or bluetooth, I can only access certain sites eg.I can't access google, or msn messenger for instance
I can access wikipedia, and my ISPs website as an example.Originally I thought it was because it was only able to access australian servers, but this isn't the case. My browser just seems unable to get a connection to certain sites/servers ever - it times out when i try to view google - but only when my phone is the link to the internet.On the phone, I can access every site/server that I want. But not on my laptop via the phone. When I'm on another internet connection (home or work etc), I have no issues connecting to those sites/servers from my laptop.Browsing google over other connections has not helped me find a solution yet. The connection to the net is stable - it doesn't drop out and can remain connected indefinitely.I'm running:
Laptop version: windows7, with ovi 2.2.0.241
Phone version: 031.023
The results have been the same on earlier versions of the phone and ovi software. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Nokia Internet Modem displays in the device selection dropdownlist the word "Ricerca..." (italian word for "Searching...", i think); when I connect the stick to usb the device selection displays "Inizializzazione di Nokia.." (in english Initialization of Nokia...); after 1 second the device selection return to display "Ricerca" and after 10 seconds it shows "inizializzazione di Nokia.." for 1 second and so on.
