Xseries :: Ovi Maps Not Working On Nokia X2?
Oct 29, 2010I am planning to buy a Nokia X2. Is there any way to install Ovi Maps on that? Even if it does not have GPS - I would still like to install Ovi Maps to browse the map.

Apr 28, 2010According to the user manual supplied with my Nokia X3 Ovi Maps is pre-installed, this also confirmed on Ovi Maps website. I can't find this application anywhere on my X3 and have sent 5 messages to Nokia asking why not but received no reply. How can I download and install this application.

Sep 22, 2011Nokia this time has let me down especially on this phone. They have proven to have failed these touch screen phones. It is my first time to by a nokia touch screen phone and now the touch screen is not working any more. I tried to update the software to version 6.but no change. I feel robbed by nokia as I wasted my money on this phone. Now I can not unlock the phone, I have to switch off the phone and I cant type or save a number,I cant view missed calls and messages. May 30, 2010I just upgraded my firmware to 40.0.005 so I could use the ovi maps. It updated everything fine, but when I tried to run the maps, it said "This version of maps is not compatible with the old map data stored on your device", and deleted the maps. I redownloaded the maps to the phone using the Nokia Ovi Suite, but it always pops up the same message about being incompatible and needs to be deleted. I have tried a few fixes I found on the forum, but these havnt worked. (Deleting nokia + ovi maps from application manager). Any ideas?

Dec 1, 2011This is like the 10nth time this has happened. The sim service menu(one with the sim card icon) does not open when clicked which is annoying as I use it alot.I usually have to do a full restore which deletes all my data to make it work again which really sucks. Then a few weeks later the problem reapears again, and that sucks even more. Im really fatigued at this point. Whats the point of saving stuff when you have to delete it every other week? Is there any other way to fix this without losing my data?

I took it back to MTNSP and they told me it cannot be fixed and they gave me a new handset.
The new handset: Now its a new problem, everytime I download software from Ovi, it start hanging, touchscreen not working. I switch it off and on again and it works for about 30 seconds and hangs/freezes. It does this everytime. I tried to delete the programs again but it keeps on doing the same thing. Mar 16, 2011my phone was fully functional, until I dropped it off my bed, then stood on it getting up to get it off the floor, anywhoo, the screen had broke and only the three buttons on the bottom were working. Jan 21, 2010I used to have Maps 2 on my phone until very recently however I upgraded to Maps 3 over the Christmas period, this was working fine while I was in the UK. I have since travelled to Russia (in Moscow) and have had nothing but problems. First of all I am not able to get a GPS signal although when I was here before Christmas (Maps 2) it was working fine. When I start maps I go on line and also have my position set by Network this does not work either. I have done the following since without sucess.
1) I have connected my phone to the computer in Mass storage mode and removed the folder'Cities' and the qf file as stated in the help file.
2) I have reloaded the phone software to my phone.
3) I have reloaded Maps 3 on my phone.
4) I have loaded the Map of Russia on my phone (which takes a good 6 hours due to my company firewall)
5) After this has loaded I have tried my maps on the phone and can see down to street level but my position is not indicated either by GPS or the network (network MTS Vodafone Partner).
6) When the map has loaded from the computer to the phone I can see the map on my phone using the OVI Pc Suite.
7) If I remove my phone from the computer and then reconnect it the OVI Pc Suite says there are no maps on my device.
8) I downloaded Albania and also cyprus before loading Russia again, whilst still connected to my computer I can see all 3 of these maps but if i disconect and connect again it says no maps are on my phone.
I have spent the last 5 days trying to get this to work without sucess. As I am currently working here in Russia this device is invaluable to me but at the moment it is not providing much use apart from taking up my companies bandwith with downloads. I think I posted this on the wrong board earlier, Since then I have downloaded the UK map and this time after it downloaded I could see it in the OVI Pc Suite, I opened maps on the phone while still connected to the computer and after I closed it OVI Suite said there where no Maps on my device although there are. I am still not getting a GPS signal I even left the phone on the window sill for one whole night with no obstructions and still never got a GPS signal.

May 19, 2010I have 5800 XM with firmware v50.0.005 and ovi maps v3 But whenever i try opening ovi maps it opens and closes automaticaly within 3seconds I have uninstaled the ovi maps and instald it again,i have also restored my phone to factory settings and then updatd my firmware and ovi maps But the problem with the OVI maps not working continues Does anyone else face the same problem Can someone help me find a solution?

Feb 15, 2010A while ago I upgraded the Ovi Maps app on my N97 Mini to the latest version, the one with free navigation and a new menu screen. It worked fine for a few days. Now it refuses to work: When I start the application, no matter what I do or which sub-menu I enter, the application exits/dies in a few seconds and I'm back to the phone's main menu screen.
I uninstalled and reinstalled the app from Ovi Store, but the same nonsense is happening again. The app just does not work for more than 10 seconds. Even if I keep entering data or going from one sub menu to another, within 10 seconds of starting the app, it disappears and I'm back to the main menu. (I've checked to see that the app is not continuing in the background. It's not it truly is gone.

Jun 18, 2010After much time spend on the ovi maps (trying to get it to work again) I thought I would post here. My problem is as follows, I initially had maps working on my X6 for approx 10 days, had Europe maps installed and Malaysia (as I am roaming here). Now I know that some devise had maps 3.01 installed and this had a 10 day license, I currently have 3.04 installed and when I open the maps application it just opens and closes! I did some searching on the net and tried various things, deleted the cities file folder and the qf file, reconnected to pc and opened ovi suite, the cities folder was re-created but not the qf file??
I have checked/watched the installation of maps 3.04 and each time it says successful but when I try to open it just closes straight away and device says no application installed. I had a look at the installed apps on the device for ovi maps and says its there. The other strange this is that ovi maps is installed on the D drive where as every other app in on the C drive?

May 5, 2010I own a Nokia E71 and I am very excited about Nokia Maps. I am not a good computer user but somehow managed to land into this forum. I have downloaded Nokia Maps on my Nokia - E71 and its awesome but the voice navigation is not working. When I tried to download Voices using "Map Loader" it shows no entry.
