Xperia Ray :: Won't Charge While In Off Mode After ICS Update
Feb 3, 2012
Normally when I plug in my Ray while it's off, the "sony" screen comes up for a few seconds, then the screen shows the charging icon and the LED turns yellow. Instead, the Sony screen comes up, then the phone restarts, Sony comes up again, rinse later and repeat forever. The phone still charges just fine when it's turned on. I have tried removing/reinserting the battery, as well as charging the phone with different cables/ports/outlets. I upgraded to ICS a few days ago. I think that it was charging properly for a couple of days after I upgraded, but I'm not 100% sure. So at this point my next step is to do a Repair with PC Companion. Then, if all else fails, take the phone to my carrier for repair.
I have installed Lollipop but PC Companion insist an update exist i ended with a Software update failed boot message, my error was try to update with battery with 65% of charge. And cannot remember what happen but i ended with the Software update failed error, and the phone switch off and on and off and on with the same message, i read other post about turn off and charge, but i turn off with the little red button to force it but if i connect the magnetic cable or the usb cable to power it turn on again, i force to turn off and and the phone turn on again (with the message of failed update).
Bit of a problem with my X10. A few days after I updated my X10 it is stuck in Flight mode which I cannot get out of
But the strange things is that I can connect wifi while i am stucked in flight mode
I pull out the battery didnt work I tried to repair the phone by linking the photo to the computer. It said it has an error and repair cannot proceed I am running out of options...

I think 4.0.4 or 4.0.3 is rolling out for xperia neo.I have problem of connect my xperia neo with pc companion. No solution found in this fourm yet. Read all relate post and tried everything
I can connect my phone in mass storage mode. Can I update my software which is 2.3.4 to 4.0.4 once it is available ?Will it work ?
Also once update to 4.0.4 does OTG facility availabe for xperia neo? I can able to connect mouse but not usb pendrive. what cutting edge features I can get once I updated to ICS in neo / neo V?
I want to upgrade only if those features are great and do not miss types.
in the update phase 2: after i press the back buton and connect the usb cable it lights green and i waited for more than 20 sec to boot in fkash mode but it doesnt happen and the phone turned back on automatically..
I have noticed that LED notification for SMS, email, and... is only working when the phone is in sleep mode, its not functioning when the display is on. It is to say I'm in android 2.1, and had no problems in 1.6.
i have bought my x10 mini and i am update it from android 1.6 to android 2.1 by myself using sony PC companion. yes , i am able to install it in about 1 hour , i have notice that the battery consumption after the update is terrible, battery would not recover although the screen is turn off , battery temperature is about 34 deg celcius.I am then turn off all the data transfer , wifi , GPS, background process , kill all the running app application and measure the battery consumption rate !!! it give me 20 minute/percent of battery which is very not desired ! For "my" X10 mini SE 2.1 update ecleair got bug on CPU management, it run continously without going to sleep mode!
I have a Xperia Z3 +. After the latest update of Android's camera my device in manual and automatic shooting mode is out of context and Zoom, I can only use other capture modes and some applications that take pictures.
I primarily use my notebook to charge my Droid 4 through USB. With the ICS update, I can't choose a "charge only" option anymore. I now have to make sure to safely remove the drives before unplugging the phone. Is there a way to get the "charge only" option back?
so Im tryin to put some files on my phone i pull the notification bar down click the usb notification i hit usb mass storage and nothing happens i go back to it and its back on charge mode and i cant change it at all it wont do anything everytime i try media link, and portal will not work either please someone help i have some important stuff to put on the phone and im unable to do so...
My wife recently washed her phone and by accident got some water inside (water indicator in the back is red). Since then the phone didn't want to charge! It starts charges for a second then stops.
We have been swapping batteries since I also have a GS5 but it's been really annoying.
I thought the charging module had been damaged but just yesterday by accident she found out she could charge it if the phone is in "Ultra Power Savings Mode".
Just goofing around, I figured out that there may be a workaround to the lack of a charge-only mode, at least on Windows systems. Connect the phone, and it will show up as a mass-storage device in Windows Explorer and start charging the phone. Now, click the tray icon to "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media." That disconnects the mass storage device, yet leaves the charger working.
If I connect the phone to my computer in the MSC mode, I have access to it via Windows Explorer etc., so e.g. I can load music onto my phone, but I cannot install Apps. If I try to do so in the MSC mode, Google Play tells me that the download of the app will start soon, but then nothing happens. If I connect the XPeria in the MTP mode, nothing happens except that my computer utters the first tone of the "USB connected"-signal three times. In the MTP mode the Sony PC companion also tells me that itīs not possible to connect the phone.I reinstalled the PC Companion, restarted my computer and my phone but nothing changed. Is there any possibility to install Apps in the MSC mode? If not, how can I make the MTP mode work again?
how do I get the photon to get "charge only" mode when connecting the photon to a pc?I have 2 operating systems, 1 tablet with windows 7 professional 32 bit tablet pc, and 1 laptop with windows xp professional 32 bit. Some other people were saying as soon as they plug in their photon to their PC, they can drop down the notification menu from where the clock, signal indicator is and see this option. I do not have this when trying to connect - all it does is "charge" but I am able to make/receive calls this way. Both OS's do not recognize the photon, and there are no errors in device manager.I also did the OTA update to MR5 from sprint over wifi.Is there a link to the application or correct drivers I need for this? Also how can I test to see if this will work?
Yesterday I downloaded and installed the gingerbread update. Following instructions I changed the usb mode to whatever the setting was that I needed to complete the update via computer file transfer (mass storage mode?). After completing the update I sat and played with all the shiney new features until my battery died (oops) and now I can't charge my phone because I can't power it on long enough to change the usb mode back to "none" or whatever. Is there a way to override this or externally change this? Prior to the update the usb would default back to charging mode if the battery died, I am happy about the updates, but this issue is a HUGE problem. I hadn't installed the usb driver on my computer to charge via usb connection, and the phone needs to be turned on in order to initialize thisdriver, so I can't even charge that way. If there is no way to externally change this setting, what in the world am I supposed to do to get my phone to turn back on?
Error Message :Blackberry wont charge through USb and Cannot update system software as the charging source could not be recognized I have been facing this problem since couple months. I have been recommended to update the system software however i cannot do that as well as it is not being detected through USb i have tried using different cables different machines however its the same issue. That states that the issue is with the phone. IS there any way the i can update my system software through WIFI?
I updated my blackberry last Wednesday with the latest OS (7.1), and since then, my phone won't hold a charge. I started noticing it on Thursday, and it's progressively gotten worse.A full charge will last only about 4 hours.I've changed the battery out for a new one, but to no avail. The phone won't hold a charge. It will, however, still charge with either battery (the old and the new), and after it's charged (after being totally dead) it will turn on, andit will connect to Blackberry desktop software.
my iphone 4s will not charge or be recognized when plugged into the computer after the ios 5.1.1 software update why is this? i have used many usb cords also.
A week ago my T-Mobile G2 received its long-awaited Gingerbread update OTA. The update installed easily and I can happily report that Wi-Fi calling and other features worked quite well.
What I only learned as a problem a few days later is that now my car charger will not charge the phone at all. The T-Mobile branded car charger had worked previously and still works with other Android 2.2 OS phone just fine. But although the phone clearly recognizes the presence of the charger [because it switches to "Car Mode" when plugged in, a nice new feature in itself], it will not charge with the car charger at all. The T-Mobile G2 does charge fine with wall charges, just not in the car.
I have called T-Mobile and they are guessing this is a bug in Gingerbread.
After the recent update, I'm noticing a few things fixed and a few things broken. On the things broken, one is the battery charge indicator in the upper right hand corner of the GUI next to the time.At 29% it shows half full. At 49% it shows at around 75%. If you go to the Settings, Battery & Data Manager, that will show properly at 50% for instance, while the icon shown in the GUI next to the clock is not showing half green but more like 75% greenI have a nifty widget called "Tiny Battery Widget" that gives a more accurate representation (which is consistent with the battery charge indicator found buried in the system's menu under "Battery & data manager" ) and also verifies the small icon at the top right next to the clock is overly optimistic.
Since some time ago i've noticed that my X8 stopped charging from USB. When i first got the phone, it charged fine. I've charget it from USB couple of times, but mainly used the outlet charger. Now when i connect the USB it starts to drain battery even more and continues to do so untill i restart the phone. I've tried different cables with same result. When i connect the phone it shows an usual popup asking what i would like to do. regardles of what i choose i get the same result.
On some forum i've encountered a tip to remove the SD Card and try to charge the phone. I did that. At first it looked like it really started to get the charge. (level 72%, I'm using battery monitor widget and it showed that the current changed positive. But after a few minuted it stopped doing so and turned negative again. (Level 66%) i've restarted the phone, and the level dropped to 62%...Some time ago i've changed the stock 2GB card to a 16Gb kingston card.
My phone won't charge at all. I've plugged it into various devices with usb slots, and it still wont charge. Also when I try to use pc companion to attempt to repair it, it says no phone connected
I've just replace my battery with a new one. Then it don't charging anymore. The led flash is on but the charging is not. then i go to the store i bought the battery and they gave me new battery. still same. include that, i've get three new batteries but cant charged.
I have had my x10 now about 2months, I plugged it in to get its usual boost and nothing no LED come on, now status bar notification nothing. I have tried the wall charger and I have charged the USB charge and still nothing. I have purchased a new battery and that is now dead and no it won't charge! I am confused when you plug the charger in it starts the phone as it would normally, but then the phone shuts down because it has no battery. I have read on the internet that this is a seemingly common fault with the X10 and have red that you should factory reset, cant battery is dead.I wondered if anyone else has had this problem and if/or they fixed it, got it fixed and how?
