BB Curve :: It Won't Charge/battery Drains Quickly
Apr 11, 2011My bb has been annoying me for sometime because it drains the battery so quickly. I've deleted lots of apps etc I don't use to try and help, and I make sure I properly close everything down so it's not running in the background etc. Even if I put it on standby mode the battery has usually drained by about 1pm even though it's been fully charged.Me and my fiance have the same phone so I've tried his battery/charger etc. If I use his fully charged battery the same thing was happening. On saturday though, it just will not charge at all. A red light comes on and goes and that's it. If I use a fully charged battery it will still last a few hours, but I can't charge it myself.It's a bit of a nightmare as my fiance had emergency surgery last night so we need to both have working phones so he can contact me from the hospital if he needs to, and I need to take his phone home to charge at night, but it's leaving me without a working phone.

Jun 24, 2012My iphone 4s is only a few months old. After I updated the latest software update I noticed my battery drains down to red every day. This has never happened. My local ATT store said to minimize all the programs on the bottom of the screen. I've never had to do that before so I can't imagine that's the problem?

Dec 8, 2014I keep most of my apps closed, don't send messages, rarely talk on the phone, don't play games or watch videos, don't even listen to music, have set most of my apps not to refresh in the background (maybe I don't need a phone?) and my battery drops to 30% in 8 hours after being charged all night. This is new behavior, so I'm not sure what to else to do.

Feb 23, 2010I've got a 2g unlocked. Nothing installed but the sinful MMS package (but it did this before I installed it anyways). Maybe once or twice every week or two the battery will drain rather quickly during the day. It'll last from 8am - 6pm off a full nights charge. So once it dies, I'll try to turn it back on but it remains dead. As soon as i plug it in, it turns on as usual but then reads 50% battery. The remaining "50%" then takes about an hour to drain to zero again.
The battery has been calibrated and most days it works perfectly fine (2-3 days per charge)I think I've noticed that this happens on a day where I might use the phone a little more than average, but definitely not enough to make this drastic change.

Mar 10, 2011I have a Curve 9300 with some applications I downloaded from App World. I think it drains the battery too quickly as I have to recharge it every 8-9 hours without using it. Is there a way to understand if some application is using the battery at all time or or a program that lists the running the aplplications?

In that moment the phone turned off instantly and when trying to turn it back on the LCD remained completely white. I could not make or receive calls, e-mail, etc., the phone was dead whit the LCD white.
when I got home I plugged in the AC charger & the phone started ok. Now if I charge it fully I can use it for one day, or half day if it is very intense used. If the battery goes bellow 75-80% & I access basic functions (e-mail, sms, browsing) in 1-2 mins the LCD goes white & the phone is dead. Basically I need to keep the battery level higher than 80% in order to make sure I can use my phone.

If i plug it in to charge.. it charges at about 1% per hour if that.. turn the screen on and it drops several percent,. use it unplugged and it rapidly discharges maybe 15% or more in a very short period of time.
Im guessing i got a bad batch?
Its very odd that both phones exhibit the same behavior.. and just for kicks i left 8.1 on one and put 10 on the other.

May 18, 2014I notice that when I do a full charge from a low battery once it hits 100% if I unplug the charger after i get 1% drain every 10 minutes in standby so I do a cache clean and reboot then it discharges normally after.
When I leave the phone plugged in lets say all night and it trickle charges for a few hours after being at 100% it will only discharge around 1% every hour on standby. Is there anything wrong?

All while my iPhone's currently running on IOS 5.1.1. I never had this problem with IOS 5.1, when the battery would only drop to around 97% overnight.

Jun 29, 2014Ever since I've downloaded the iOS update, the battery drains much faster. When I turned on my iPhone 5, even when it's at 90% and after a minute or so, it drops to half or sometimes to 30%. Then after using a camera to take a picture or to do nothing, my iPhone unexpectedly shuts off and says I need to recharge it. Sometimes after five minutes or so, I turn it on with no problem or when I plug it in to charge it, the battery would say 30 or so percent charge. Even if I have background apps that are turned off, the battery still drains like crazy.Â

Nov 16, 2014I'm using DP and I have the latest update which was days ago, I'm also on cyan. Before the update, the battery performed well (or at least as expected). Now, it drains too quickly when play a bit of minion rush or watch some youtube videos. The other day out just dropped to 5 percent in a couple of minutes. I did a hard reset but still, the battery ducks now. I'm thinking going back to cyan but I love the folders features, it saves me lots of space and get me organised. I don't have too many apps running in the background, just few essentials...

Apr 13, 2010I updated my BlackBerry software to the latest version 5.0.0 last week, and ever since then I have to charge my battery 2-3 times a day - if I don't use my phone/text/etc. If I use my phone, I've had to charge it as many as 5 times a day. I do not have Bluetooth enabled (only turn it on when I need it - have not used it since software update) and I have not added any additional applications since the software update. My File Free is showing 95329645 Bytes, and pulling the battery does not solve the problem.
I delete my text messages throughout the day, and also delete my emails that come in. I've looked through the knowledgebase and have tried various methods to supposedly help battery life - nothing has helped so far.
I have all of my applications and versions listed in my Biography (wasn't reallyy sure where to put all the info) and have my privacy set to all.
what I can do to stop the battery draining, I depend heavily on my BlackBerry and right now, it's not helping me at all.
