Xperia Z2 :: Not Getting Push Notifications From Facebook Or Messenger
May 10, 2015I've upgraded my Xperia Z2 D6503 to 23.1.A.1.28 firmware a few days ago. Since then everything was fine till yesterday but from morning today i found that I'm not getting push notifications from facebook or messenger. I still don't know this is happening to other apps or not. What is the solution?

Mar 19, 2010I remember a couple of months ago when fb push notifications went live on the facebook app...only to be plagued with extreme unreliabilty with no sound or vibrate...an ailment that still exists within the app today. i recently installed boxcar because of the great things and reliabilty i have heard it has...only to be disappointed again. and when i say disappointed, i mean the product didnt work AT ALL. i mean not one single push notification from facebook has been received. seriously...whats the deal...is it that hard to support push notifications for facebook?

IPhone :: Turning Off Push Notifications For Facebook On 4S?
Jun 29, 2012I tried turning off push notifications for Facebook, but still kept receiving notices for every stupid little thing. Finally I just deleted the app. On the latest update for the gmail app, it asked if I wanted to receive push notifications. I accidentally hit yes, and immediately began getting plagued with every incoming message. Like before, I went into Notifications and turned everything off for that app. It has no effect.
I tried deleting and reinstalling the app. I tried restarting the iPhone after I changed the settings. I still get the banner ad. I need the gmail app so I can keep that account separate from the apple mail client on the phone, which I use only for work email. I'd just delete the app, but it is a deal breaker for me not to have it. Is there no way to shut notifications off? Do I need to get an Android phone?

Jan 10, 2010I got the new facebook app with push updates, and the other update that came after (3.1.1?) and it worked well for a while. But now I don't seem to be getting facebook notifications anymore. I still get mobileMe notifications, which I believe come through the same system? Which was the whole point to save battery power?
I've tried turning them on and off in the settings place, and I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it on my iPhone (not iTunes). When I launched it again, it didn't ask permission to send me notifications, which if I remember it did when I first installed the update? I expected it would have asked as when I uninstalled it it said all the data would be deleted, such as the permission to send notifications?
No idea if any of that's relevant, but I'd quite like to get notifications again if anyone has some tips .Also, there's no way to get notifications from facebook without pestering friends and looking a bit sad asking for comments is there?

I've been getting fake notifications like crazy. for example, I'll get a pop-up notification that so-so (someone I don't have as a friend) sent you a message when I click on view and the app takes me to my facebook page theirs no message. Actually whenever I get one of these the badge on the facebook icon does not update. I just get the pop-up and that will also show on my lockscreen info.

Mar 17, 2012A hard reset (remove the battery while the BB is on) seems to have worked. I say seemed since it has been reported on this board that it may return when the "service books" are updated...I'm new to BBs. I just purchased it today and against my better judgment installed FAcebook (FB). After getting a deluge of mindless drivel pushed to my new BB I decided FB was not coming near my BB again.So I found the icon - menu - delete. I restart the BB as instructed and to my surprise the icon is still there.I tried to move the icon into a folder but I don't know how to move it because the menu button does nothing when I select the icon and press menu.
And there are some FB messages too. I deleted the FB messages - when I check my messages it reports I have no messages in FB ... BUT there is a little FB icon at the top of the screen showing one message. This one message seems to be relic but I have no idea how to reset or delete it.I also tried the BB desktop software. It shows that it is uninstalled. There appears to be no way of deleting icon, moving the icon, or deleting the FB message indicator either.

Jul 6, 2015For the past couple of weeks I've been having issues with my device and push mail, I'll check the phone in the afternoon and it'll say last updated 10:30 - swipe to update and all my mail comes in.
The device is not in Stamina mode and I've even disabled the "queue background data" option but not joy. Removed and re-added my account also, oh and cleared out all of my devices in Exchange web mail.
Just downloaded TouchDown to see if its the native email application causing the issue and that works fine.
I am wondering if the last software update has caused an issue, been working fine up until a few weeks ago.

The notifications box is checked off, but often the notificatons do not arrive until after I have gone into the Facebook Application, and physically hit "notifications". Suddenly my phone dings to say I someone wrote on my wall, etc.
In the past week, the messages in my inbox will not refresh. On my computer I know that i have about 4 new messages, but the last message I can see is from a couple days before my newest messages. Why can't I see them?? I don't want to have to turn on a computer everytime I want to read my inbox messages.

Aug 17, 2011As of about a week ago, I have started receiving only about 10% of the messages and notifications from facebook that I used to receive to my Blackberry. 90% of the messages and notifications now just get stuck in facebook and I only see them when I log into fb through my laptop.
As of the last week, every once in a while I will receive some facebook message or notification to my blackberry, but the majority don't make it to my Blackberry and instead just stay on facebook until I open the site on my laptop.
