I have been trying since Saturday to deleat about 50 messages on my phone that are not deleating. I have tried clearing cashe from Fb APP.I have restarted phone. Nothing is working at all.
View 3 RepliesA hard reset (remove the battery while the BB is on) seems to have worked. I say seemed since it has been reported on this board that it may return when the "service books" are updated...I'm new to BBs. I just purchased it today and against my better judgment installed FAcebook (FB). After getting a deluge of mindless drivel pushed to my new BB I decided FB was not coming near my BB again.So I found the icon - menu - delete. I restart the BB as instructed and to my surprise the icon is still there.I tried to move the icon into a folder but I don't know how to move it because the menu button does nothing when I select the icon and press menu.
And there are some FB messages too. I deleted the FB messages - when I check my messages it reports I have no messages in FB ... BUT there is a little FB icon at the top of the screen showing one message. This one message seems to be relic but I have no idea how to reset or delete it.I also tried the BB desktop software. It shows that it is uninstalled. There appears to be no way of deleting icon, moving the icon, or deleting the FB message indicator either.
I have deleted my configured e-mail from my blackberry 8520 curve but I don't know how to remove e-mail messages which is still reflecting in the message icon at the main screen.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a new 8530 and even though I select "Delete on mailbox and Handheld" every time I delete an email, it only will delete it on the Blackberry. Reverse is also true, when I delete email on my laptop the emails do not delete on Blackberry (not sure if this is even an option).This happens on both my gmail account and my comcast account.

Here's a screenie of my BBSAK "read system," showing that there is nothing with VVM on my phone, yet visual voice mail is still there, despite several restarts and different fixes. In the device manual it says and in the device HelpSearch it sais the same:home->messages->options-> Message Display and Actions , but this sub-category option doesn't appear on my device messages options (i googled it and also ppl said they can't find this option on their curve 3G...)i have in option of messages this sub-categories:General Text Messaging options, SMS Text, MMS and in none of them there is an option regarding how long to keep txt messages...

I am new to the forum, and I am very frustrated with my phone. I've had it for 2 years, no problems, till the last few weeks.About 3 weeks ago, I stopped getting any messages or notifications from FB on my blackberry. Don't know how to fix that.I also cannot delete notifications I did get back to 9/27.I cannot erase my messages. It was erasing all of them just fine, then it was deleting current ones.Now its not deleting any. I have messages on my phone going back to 9/27. I've had this problem a few times here and there, but if I turned it off, took battery out and put back in and turned back on, it'd let me do it.I can't find anything on this website to help either problem. I am able to get an upgraded phone, but can't afford it right now. And even when I can, not so sure it'll be a blackberry. I really don't understand all the technical mumble jumble.

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy Blackberry Curve 9360 is not deleting messages from the server meaning that, after returning home from a week working away, I've still got a few hundred messages to wade through on my PC. I receive e-mails on the PC via Outlook Express. I've clicked on 'tools', 'accounts' then 'advanced' to ensure that the box for 'leave a copy of the message on the server' is unchecked i.e. messages should be being deleted from the server when prompted to by the phone but this is not happening. Not sure what else to try or perhaps there was something I did / didn't do during the set-up of the phone.

I've spent so long googling and I've made exactly no progress at all...!!- Problem: my blackberry only keeps text messages for about a week before deleting them- Phone type: It is a blackberry Curve 9320. It seems to be on OS 7.1. I got it around the middle of October 2012.- Also worth noting: unlike most people I've found online with this complaint- my call logs aren't being deleted, and are still intact all the way back to the middle of October when I got the phone.- Also, emails aren't deleted after a week, they perhaps linger for as much as a month before vanishing.
(I don't care about those as much because I can access them other ways, whereas texts I can't)According to various googlings and also questions on here, this is most commonly due to lack of memory, therefore they suggest that you check your memory status and then free some up if required.- When I go into device and status information it tells me that my free memory is around 133602256 bytes (which I believe is in the region of 126mb?). Does this count as a lot or a little? Could this be the source of the problem after all?- Similarly when I look in memory use under media it says 'built-in media storage 96% free (30.4mb)' and 'media card storage 95% free (1.7gb)'The other obvious thing which I've checked (and initially thought had solved the problem but it hadn't) was 'Message display and actions' where I've had 'days to keep messages' set as forever but it doesn't seem to have made a difference.Am I missing something really obvious? How can I get it to keep my messages for more than 7 or 8 days?
