I tried updating my phone with pc companion and it failed. It only got 50%! Now my phone will not turn on. It won't flash with the service tool or pc companion or the flash tool from XDA! Is my phone faulty? If not what can I do?
View 9 RepliesI got notification from PC Companion that ICS 4.1.b.0.431 update is available for my neo v (4.0.4). I started updating it. Since it said that personal data will not be hampered, I did not create backup of contacts, sms etc. After downloading, I got message for updating failure. Now the phone is not turning on, showing "Sony " and then exclamation mark and turning off. I have a choice to repair the phone but I'm fearing of loosing my personal data.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI received a message on my XPeria Mini Pro about the 4.1.B.0.587 Update. In fact, I can not install it. When I start the PC Companion software, it finds the connected Phone. Then I click on update. In the following window I click "Accept" and then the software should prepare the PC for the update. But after one second it stops and returns to Start without any comment. When I start Sony Mobile Update Service then it checks for new updates. As soon as the check is over, the program terminates without any comment. Is there a third way to upgrade?
My config:
PC with AMD, Windows 7 64 Bit, 16GB RAM
i checked on the sony website, they say ics update for xperia mini is available but when i connect to pc companion or update service, it says you phone already has the latest software but it has GB, please tell me how to fix it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've got a Mini Pro and the operator is T-Mobile. T-Mobile only approved the update yesterday so I went to update it via PCC after updating PCC and Backup And Restore. Before I started updating, I backed it up. Now I started the updating process and I was on step 2. It asks me to remove the USB cable from the phone and turn it off. Then insert the cable back in WHILE holding the Back key. When I do this, nothing happens except PCC tells me that they can sense a Sony Ericsson phone. I've tried doing it more than 5 times and it's the same thing over again. I've turned my MMS & data off and Data roaming On if that makes any difference at all.

Q1] why it is not showing update available when try to update from phone? Is it not fully released/ not compatible/ any bug/error ?
Q2] If i update to Ice Cream Sandwich and if any problem occurs then can i revert back to an old version of android i.e gingerbread.?
I am updating my xperia mini using pc companion, but I always stuck in step 2, when they tell follow this instructions then I follow, I disconnect the usb to the laptop then turn off the phone an then plug the usb again then press and hold the volume down while plugging the usb to phone and nothing happens..

View 1 Replies View Relatedi have a x10 mini which is an o2 pay as you go purchased in england. i followed the sony erricsson instructions posted on Internet to upgrade my phone. after a fun filled few hours the other evening, and after rebooting the phone for a final time the phone was still at v1.6. the pc companion software downloded and appeared to update the phone correctly. now if i try to repeat the upgrade process the pc companion says that the phone's software is up to date.

When the battery charge level decreases to 50% my phone automatically displays a message that the phone battery is low and shuts down. It won't even turn on unless it is charged. I know the rules to save battery life, I have already done the following:
1. Turned off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
2. Switched to 2G when at home from 3G
3. I have a very low screen brightness
4. Turned off GPS when not needed
5. Disabled the display bravia engine, animations and screen auto rotation
Still my phone shuts down at 50%.
There is no download link other than Microsoft windows.
View 4 Replies View Relatedso i got the notification on the new software update nd it says connet to a pc to recieve it. then u get told to download this pc companion. so i have done. then i notice it says no phone connected. so i click how to connect i then get to stage two and it says connect usb cable to your computer and then to your phone so i do that and nothing happens. i wait 30 seconds and nothing happens i disconect my phone and connect it again and still nothing happens all its doing is charging my phone. i've done it over and over again and nothing happens.

View 2 Replies View Relatedmy problem is that it does connect with PC companion with USB, but not with bluetooth.It does get paired, the pc sees the phone, correct name, gives me the 4 digit code, and put them in the phone, but when I put in the phone, it seems ok, until PC Companion just says I cannot connect via BT, and tells me to try with USB cable.Why would I try with BT, for any other reason that not wanting to use the cable?Well, anyway, BT in the PC is ok (i used to connect with a Palm Treo 1 week ago), and BT in the phone is ok, it connect with car's handsfree.
