I want this update real bad. But when I set it for update finish following the instructions for backup after installing the new backup software. It moves to step 2 of 4 and then stops around 30-50% and the below message is displayed. Unable to install or start phone software update components.

I am updating my xperia mini using pc companion, but I always stuck in step 2, when they tell follow this instructions then I follow, I disconnect the usb to the laptop then turn off the phone an then plug the usb again then press and hold the volume down while plugging the usb to phone and nothing happens..

I bought my Xperia Mini 26 days ago. But I am having some major battery problems already. When the battery charge level decreases to 50% my phone automatically displays a message that the phone battery is low and shuts down. It won't even turn on unless it is charged. I know the rules to save battery life, I have already done the following:
1. Turned off Wi-Fi, Bluetooth
2. Switched to 2G when at home from 3G
3. I have a very low screen brightness
4. Turned off GPS when not needed
5. Disabled the display bravia engine, animations and screen auto rotation
Still my phone shuts down at 50%.
My phone wont start anymore and the update wont finish!Is there a way to reinstall the old 1.6 software!?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was doing a reboot on my blackberry, as it was booting, at about 70% it just stops. I tried to connect it to the BB desktop manager so that I can try to update the device software, but it only connects to my pc when the battery is removed, when I put the battery back in, it disconnects then switches itself on, loads up till about 70%, then stops. I even tried leaving it the entire night with hope that it will get through that stage, but it still wont budge. I tried downgrading the OS to v4.6.1 but the phone doesn't switch on at all. So I upgraded back to v5.0.0 and it still gives me the same problem.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had an Xperia X10 Mini Pro for a while now. The last few months I have experienced that the phone stops recieving phone calls and SMS. The rest of the phone is still working and I can use apps and mobile internet so I do not notice myself that it has stoped working untill I try to make a phone call myself. The phone starts working again if I restart it (just a normal shut down and the turn it back on again). This works every time. Once restarted I normaly gets a lot of SMS's with messages on my voice mail etc.

The indicator shows the phone is connected and there is good signal, but all applications report network error when trying to connect. Turning wi-fi off and on makes it work for another few minutes. The phone is after complete wipe and reset, I tried to connect to different networks and the problem is still there. Other android phones connect to these networks okay and there is no problem (personally tested with HTC Incredible S, Desire HD2 and One X)

Itunes reads my device loads Step 1 and 2 but for some reasons it stops loading at Step 3 "preparing to sync" the bar doesnt freeze it just keeps going endlessly and doesnt continue on to Step 4, 5, or 6.

I was already prepared to take it to repair, but after 2 days I restarted it and everything was back to normal.This time it worked for about a day and then again...while unlocking it the touch screen went dead. Keeping it turned off for a day "solved" it this time. It can't be a complete hardware defect, otherwise it wouldn't just start working again after some time.

I've been having problems with my phone recently, it doesn't recieve some text messages or show my missed calls. A friend suggested that it may just need updating, which made sense because I'd been getting update notifications, just hadn't got round to hooking my ohone up to my laptop. So I did just that and installed the 'companion' but when I try to update, it's asking me to insert a memory card. I've never taken it out! Not once. So i've turned the phone off and on again, as you do.
