LG G3 :: Facebook And WhatsApp Not Showing Number Of Notifications On Icon Only In Status Bar
Mar 5, 2015I just got a LG G3 2 days ago and straight out of the box it did an update to Lollypop so I cant quote if the issue I have worked on Kitkat.
Anyway the problem I have is Facebook and Whatsapp do NOT show the number of notifications on Icon only in the status bar. Here's a couple of screen captures to show you what I mean.

Nov 4, 2015I am a first time user of Sony, and Xperia Z5 is my first phone. I got it on 26th October and I have used iPhones and Samsung phones previously.
I tried tweaking both phone settings and app settings and the pin/pattern unlock was the initial problem that I found.
The "swipe" to unlock is now my primary screen unlock method with no security procedure in place.
Thing is that i still sometimes don't get the notifications under "screen lock" mode for these 3rd party apps even i chose to show all notification content under phone settings.
I only get them when I have swiped to unlock my phone, and a whole chunk of notifications start popping up.
Phone Version: 5.1.1
When Device is locked >> Show all notification content
WhatsApp Popup notification >> Only when screen "off"
Line settings >> Display Pop-ups when screen ON "OFF"
Display Pop-ups when screen OFF "Simple"

It doesn't appear every time i do so, but still up to one time in two weeks.

Sep 20, 2012I'm using a Torch 9800 and I have a message icon in the little notification bar in between the profile selector and the search but I have no messages. I have no voicemail that I haven't listened to, no unread facebook messages or emails, no missed calls, nothing that I can see that would create the little envelope message icon and if I click on it it does not show that I have any messages - only my calender entries. This happened about a month ago and then happened again 2 days ago so I now have 2 messages showing but no messages which is so irritating. Not stopping my phone from working or anything horrid like that, just an irritation as I think I have a message when I don't actually have any unread messages. I have also tried to reboot a number of times but then 1st thing I see when it reboots is those 2 stupid messages that don't exist.

Aug 16, 2011So all of my emails used to show up both in the address specific icon as well as the general message icon. Now they are only showing up in the general message icon.
When I try to access specific emails that I know are for the specific emaill adddress the icon opens but it just displays "*No Messages*" even though the little red astrix is on the icon indicating I have received a new email for that specific address.

It started with three, then four, and now six. I have read several forums and have tried pulling my battery several times. I have even deleted my e-mail account and set it up again. I have gone into all my folders to see if there is a message hiding somewhere. I can't find anything. Has anyone else had this problem? Aside from doing a factory restore and/or calling Verizon does anyone have any suggestions on how I can reset the counter? By the way, my carrier is Verizon!

Aug 23, 2010After only a couple of days with my torch and not having modified it all, all of a sudden when I click on the TEXT message icon, it just shows my regular inbox. It used to show only SMS messages and was really cool. Now it shows emails and all! I dont see anywhere to change this back to the original behavior. I did a hard reset with no luck. So far I love my phone even with the minor annoyances like it hangs for a few seconds after unlocking it everytime, fine I can live with that. But I really want to fix this text message thing

Dec 6, 2011I just got the s2, and i have 4 email accounts (2 work, 1 hotmail, 1 gmail). I have them configured and working, but they are all under the standard mail app (white envelop with blue @). When I get a new message, this icon will show how many unread messages there are. But, it shows for all of my accounts. I'm trying to have separate apps/icons for each email address that'll show some type of "unread messages" notification on the icon itself. Came from a blackberry and i had 4 individual accounts setup, each would have a red star if there was an unread msg in that account. I tried the hotmail and the gmail apps but they don't seem to show anything like this either.

Mar 4, 2015I tried sending a picture via text message. This didn't work and I got the message "Message cannot be sent" with that red frowny face. So I deleted the message from the conversation.The problem is, that this deleted message now seems to be stuck somewhere: when I go to the overview of conversations, the one I tried sending the picture now always has that red frowny face next to it, even though since then I was sending normal messages succerssfully. Also that sad frowny face sometimes comes up as a notification. I click on "clear", so it disappears, but then after a while it will come back.
I already cleares the cache for the "Messaging" and restarted the phone, but it's still there. Do you know how I can get rid of the red frowny face?
Galaxy S6 Edge :: WhatsApp Icon Always Show 1 Even When There Are No New Messages?
Jun 17, 2015I am using Galaxy S6 Edge. Issue started happening two days ago. Even when there are no new messages the WhatsApp icon shows "1" suggesting there is one unread message.
Also even though there are multiple unread messages it still shows "1" in the icon.
