View 1 RepliesSince Lollipop update to 5.0 on my S5 Galaxy, whatsapp floating popup keeps showing up when i am using the phone (not unlocked) , no matter if i put on whatsapp config to do not show popup it always appears, it´s kinda annoying since when it is up, u cant hide it, or u click it, or u wait..
Is there any way to get over this? i´ve tried look for some another ways, but no specific way for galaxy S5.
Do I need to backup data in order to be able to revert back to my stock Rom? My understanding is that if I did a backup of the System, Boot, EFS, and Cache then I should be fine. Only gripe is that my Apps and app data will be lost. Is that correct?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'll be updating to 5.1.1 later and wondered what the best way to restore my S6 (SM-G920F). I'll be backing up different ways where each backup does it slightly differently.
I have
1. Samsung backup set up via the backup/restore options
2. Google sync via accounts and backup via backup/restore options
3. Helium backup "carbon" folder copied to my PC
Which is the best to restore from? Is there a certain order i should do it? Can i ignore any of the options listed above? I only ask this as Helium is denied backup to certain apps e.g. WhatsApp etc.
I am a first time user of Sony, and Xperia Z5 is my first phone. I got it on 26th October and I have used iPhones and Samsung phones previously.

I tried tweaking both phone settings and app settings and the pin/pattern unlock was the initial problem that I found.

The "swipe" to unlock is now my primary screen unlock method with no security procedure in place.Â
Thing is that i still sometimes don't get the notifications under "screen lock" mode for these 3rd party apps even i chose to show all notification content under phone settings.Â
I only get them when I have swiped to unlock my phone, and a whole chunk of notifications start popping up.

Anyway the problem I have is Facebook and Whatsapp do NOT show the number of notifications on Icon only in the status bar. Here's a couple of screen captures to show you what I mean.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI got some serious issues on the S6 with the backup of my messages from Whatsapp.Normally i use Helium to backup all my apps+data. Nowadays since Whatsapp has been part of Facebook this aint possible anymore.So i went the regular way, the backup messages and then copy the whatsapp/database to the new phone after installing whatsapp (Whatsapp is ofcourse already installed on the S6).It asks me to restore, i press yay!!!! All of the sudden it says it was unable to restore the messages.I tried many ways, emailing, through pc etc etc with the file to my new phone.I dont know if the file has been damaged through transfer, but normally you need to use your Sd card. Wich the S6 does not have!
Ok so i went to my girlfriend her phone and copied her backup to the S6 and tried aswell. Also doesnt work.I really want my messages back restored but it seems impossible.
How can i make my device wake up when i receive a whatsapp notification, it works fine for other apps (aqaumail, textra) but for whatapp the notification is there, the device vibrates and the led works; but the screen dosnt turn on.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have just got a Galaxy s6 and transferred a backup from my previous iPhone 5 using Samsung Smart Switch, all contacts etc. have transferred but only part of my Whatsapp history.
Some chats have completely gone, others have transferred the chat but not the messages within that chat, how to transfer the full chat history?
Firstly, on the clock on the lock screen, when i press the homebutton its like the time isn't up to date. It will change in a split second to the latest time. Why does this happen?
Also when using whatsapp, when the device is locked and i go back into a conversation when whatsapp opens its like the keyboard vanishes and i just see a black box where the keyboard should be. After a couple of seconds, the keyboard appears.
Ive made no changes and dont see any reason why i need to make any tweaks but this is rather annoying. I didnt experience this on using the HTC and quickly frankly im tempted to go back.
From what it seems like, it seems app is not running in background properly. Power saving is off, app optimization for WhatsApp is on default setting (can't change it because it is a system app), and data is running properly. All other apps do push notifications just fine. Running 5.1.1 COI9 build.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI am using Galaxy S6 Edge. Issue started happening two days ago. Even when there are no new messages the WhatsApp icon shows "1" suggesting there is one unread message.
Also even though there are multiple unread messages it still shows "1" in the icon.
Tried clearing cache and force restarting the app and still doesn't work.
I have a unrooted S5(SM-G900F) on Lollipop(5.0). All was well but recently I cannot receive calls in any of my apps- Viber/Whatsapp/Kakao/Skype etc. People have been calling me using these apps but it never comes through, it never rings. When I start the app manually I see I have missed calls. Normal calls are fine though.
View 4 Replies View RelatedWith the latest mm but also with the beta when I send a whatsapp message it doesn't send immediately but takes up to 30 -40 seconds. This happens only on the first one because if I send other messages after that they are sent immediately.
I'm sure it's not a connection issue since telegram works like a charm.
there is only one backup each for the 2 iphones that sync with my itunes. should there be more than one each?

When I try and delete the .ipd files it says "you need permission of administrator to make these changes." I am using Windows 7 and to my knowledge have full administration.

They are all backed up and I can see the backups if I click on "restore from backup". I'm just not sure if it's possible to get all the info from those backups + my current one onto my 4S phone.

I bought the iPhone 4S the other day, but my mother had already the iPhone 4. When I connected my new iPhone 4S to the computer, I restored it from my mother's iTunes backup. After that, as I didn't wanted to have her contacts, I deleted them all. Some moments later she told me she had no contacts anymore, too. Then I realized my fatal error, as we both had our iPhones in the same iCloud account I had deleted all contacts in her phone too.
To solve this problem I restored her iPhone 4 in my computer, but then again something went wrong. Her iPhone was restored with a very old backup, so she was missing some new contacts and photos.
I was thinking about restoring her iPhone from an old iCloud backup (one from one week ago) so she can have her phone like it was before I did all this mess (that was about three days ago), but when I try to do that from her iPhone I can only see the last 5 backups that are from yesterday or two days before, but I need an OLDER backup. how to restore an iPhone from an older iCloud backup?

I'm one of those people who forgot the password for their encyrpted iphone backups ... BUT luckily I found that out BEFORE I had the actual need to restore my iPhone from said backups.
Now I'd like to start a new set of backups from my phone, this time WITHOUT the encryption so I won't run into any troubles when I actually need them.
Howevery, even after deleting all old backups in iTunes I still can't uncheck the "encrypt backup" box. Is there any way of getting a fresh start on backups?
