I got some serious issues on the S6 with the backup of my messages from Whatsapp.Normally i use Helium to backup all my apps+data. Nowadays since Whatsapp has been part of Facebook this aint possible anymore. So i went the regular way, the backup messages and then copy the whatsapp/database to the new phone after installing whatsapp (Whatsapp is ofcourse already installed on the S6).It asks me to restore, i press yay!!!! All of the sudden it says it was unable to restore the messages.I tried many ways, emailing, through pc etc etc with the file to my new phone.I dont know if the file has been damaged through transfer, but normally you need to use your Sd card. Wich the S6 does not have!
Ok so i went to my girlfriend her phone and copied her backup to the S6 and tried aswell. Also doesnt work.I really want my messages back restored but it seems impossible.
From what it seems like, it seems app is not running in background properly. Power saving is off, app optimization for WhatsApp is on default setting (can't change it because it is a system app), and data is running properly. All other apps do push notifications just fine. Running 5.1.1 COI9 build.
I am using Galaxy S6 Edge. Issue started happening two days ago. Even when there are no new messages the WhatsApp icon shows "1" suggesting there is one unread message.
Also even though there are multiple unread messages it still shows "1" in the icon.
Tried clearing cache and force restarting the app and still doesn't work.
Whenever I open my messages app, this error shows up and the app freezes. I've cleared cache and data and restarted my phone a few times with no luck. What should I do? (Samsung Galaxy s6, 5.0.2)
I'm thinking of getting a new phone now since my screen is broken but before I do, I have got many important messages on WhatsApp so I have been wondering if it's possible and how to restore them all to the new phone? Does the "App data and settings restore" feature in the Backup & reset setting of the phone will do the trick? Or do I have to do the manual way which is locate the chat history file in the WhatsApp folder, copy it to my laptop and then paste it later in my newly phone?
I have a blackberry curve 9380. I don't use BIS plans, I just use our dorm wifi (public) connection. The wifi works fine with viber and facebook apps and it works with internet browsing, but I can't send messages using Whatsapp. I am not receiving friends' messages either. When I check my account status for Whatsapp, it says, "Your account type could not be determined. The most common explanation is that you have not been able to connect to the server yet."
I dont get Whats app messages instantly .I first have to open the app ,then it connects, and then i get my message .Is there a way to get it instantly? They same goes for BBM
It's been quite a while since my what's app messages have not been loading. Only when I open what'sapp application, the messages loads...I don't receive any messages untill I open the app itself. Have tried everything.. My phone is not on stamina /ultra stamina mode. Que background data is also turned app. Also notifications setting for what's app is on. Still can't get over this issue.
I recently changed phone providers and at the same time upgraded from an Iphone 3 old provider to an Iphone 4 with the new provider. Same phone number- I had it trasnferred..
But 1- all my text messages are gone and 2 all my whats app chats are gone.
And yes, I backed up and synced my phone on Itunes before swapping. How can I get it back?
My 'backup and restore' app won't back up my text messages... it backs up the other things on the list for example the contacts, call logs, brower history etc. I would like to save the messages before I update my phone.Or unless there is another way of saving my messages, i.e. saving them onto a pc or something.I have a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro.
I have not yet gotten ahold of a Lumia 950 but plan to do so in the fairly near future. I've been reading this forum and find various comments about whether or not to restore from a WM 8.1 backup. My current phone is a Lumia 1020 running Denim.
My question is for those who have recommended a fresh install rather than a restore from backup. Are you referring only to the "Apps and Settings" backup and not the "text messages" backup?
Having a problem where Whatsapp messages still vibrate even though I've switched it off in the apps settings?
Also is there a way to switch all of vibration for notifications off on the phone? On the M9 I could put the phone on silent and choose whether or not I want it to vibrate with notifications or not but on the 6P it seems if I have the volume silent it still vibrates.
.. just bought s6 today very happy .... transferred my whatsapp folder from old fone to this one but when started whatsapp .. it started without verifying which is good but it didnt restored my earlier chats
Galaxy S5 phone - after OS upgrade and Whatsapp upgrade my photo's and videos I receive on Whats-app do not go to Gallery anymore. It use to go straight to my gallery.
How can i make my device wake up when i receive a whatsapp notification, it works fine for other apps (aqaumail, textra) but for whatapp the notification is there, the device vibrates and the led works; but the screen dosnt turn on.
I want to stop my whatsapp from saving sent pictures to my gallery, I have searched Google and have followed the instructions settings>chat settings>media auto download and I've stopped all the options (wifi, data) but they still save in the gallery once I accept the media to be downloaded ...
I have just got a Galaxy s6 and transferred a backup from my previous iPhone 5 using Samsung Smart Switch, all contacts etc. have transferred but only part of my Whatsapp history.
Some chats have completely gone, others have transferred the chat but not the messages within that chat, how to transfer the full chat history?
Firstly, on the clock on the lock screen, when i press the homebutton its like the time isn't up to date. It will change in a split second to the latest time. Why does this happen?
Also when using whatsapp, when the device is locked and i go back into a conversation when whatsapp opens its like the keyboard vanishes and i just see a black box where the keyboard should be. After a couple of seconds, the keyboard appears.
Ive made no changes and dont see any reason why i need to make any tweaks but this is rather annoying. I didnt experience this on using the HTC and quickly frankly im tempted to go back.
I have a unrooted S5(SM-G900F) on Lollipop(5.0). All was well but recently I cannot receive calls in any of my apps- Viber/Whatsapp/Kakao/Skype etc. People have been calling me using these apps but it never comes through, it never rings. When I start the app manually I see I have missed calls. Normal calls are fine though.
Since Lollipop update to 5.0 on my S5 Galaxy, whatsapp floating popup keeps showing up when i am using the phone (not unlocked) , no matter if i put on whatsapp config to do not show popup it always appears, it´s kinda annoying since when it is up, u cant hide it, or u click it, or u wait..
Is there any way to get over this? i´ve tried look for some another ways, but no specific way for galaxy S5.
With the latest mm but also with the beta when I send a whatsapp message it doesn't send immediately but takes up to 30 -40 seconds. This happens only on the first one because if I send other messages after that they are sent immediately.
I'm sure it's not a connection issue since telegram works like a charm.
I am looking for a backup app that will backup everything. I have city maps to go but it does not seem to backup the downloaded maps for some reason just the app.
how to backup SMS and MMS messages (including any pictures sitting within the text messages) from an iPhone to a PC? I can't seem to find anything that will work for doing this.
