I have a Z3 Dual, from USA, and since the update to 5.1.1 was not available for it on that particular region (and I live in Argentina) I installed the 5.1.1 update from Brazil, which works great, BUT, I have a persistent cell info notification on the status bar and lockscreen and don't know which app is producing it or how to disable it.

I tried Lollipop for a loooong time and now I'm sick and tired. I downgraded to 4.4.4 but I have a persistent notification in the status bar saying that the new system update to android 5.0.1 is available. But I don't want it!
Is there a way to disable that notification? It is very anoying. I tried to download FOTAkill.apk and put it in system/apps with rw--r-r- permissions but doesn't work. I know that the simplest solution is to install a custom rom but I am very happy with stock rooted + xposed + modules.
Cell Info Display when activated on E72 briefly shows in upper right corner & then is displaced by Date. Is there any way that Cell Info is Displayed continuously like other mobiles?

The "Cell Info Display" on my N8 used to show the current call rate on my network.
So really not cool to call "in the dark".
Searched the Marketplace but didn't see anything that might me. Would ideally be nice to see this on the "phone" tile.
i am not getting cell info display even when it is enabled in the phone. i am using uninor sim in sim 2 ( as for those who do'nt know about uninor, in india uninor gives the current discount in call rate as cell broadcast / info message and it is continously flashed when i use the same sim in nokia 1200).

In my new Nokia 5530, I do not see any where to set the Cell Info. Is it that I am looking at a different place or is there any other utility that gives the Cell Info? The problem is that it does not display Cell Info display correctly. Only few times it shows, But only for sometime. Is this bug fixed in the latest version 5.44 ???? and it also has the signal problem .. If i put it in my pocket , the whole signal goes away in both sims....

I also upgraded it to the latest available software: 4.1.B.0.587.This Xperia Ray unlocked phone does not work on Bell, Rogers or Videotron carriers in Canada who own the three Canadian cell networks. The IEMI number is rejected from these carriers. I tried the Virgin SIM (uses the Bell network) and the Rogers (Rogers network) SIM, and neither one works. I also called Telus, and no go either.Bell has other users who use the Xperia Ray and one of their affiliates Fido sells the Xperia U and the Xpreia Go. I called Bell customer service and they say that it must be a different phone from the Canadian Xperia Ray... but that does not make sense. Isn't there only one Xperia Ray version??? Even more annoying is the fact that my notification bar is completely missing, applications and wallpapers are even stretching to fit the whole screen as if the notification bar never existed. My device is completely unmodified, I've tried factory resets multiple times and found no success, and not surprisingly neither tmobile nor htc cs were any support whatsoever.

View 14 Replies View RelatedOctober 2011 - Returned my 18 month old Storm to Carphone Warehouse (UK) as screen was sticking in corners - they replaced for a new (or refurbished?) storm 2.New phone worked fine for around 4 weeks, then began randomly powering off (when using different apps/making call/texting etc - in other words no apparent common cause) When rebooted the battery charge was significantly lower (as much as 98% down to 10%.)Returned phone again, was given another replacement (or refurb?) with exactly the same problem happening again! Driving me mad! Each time I have restored my data using BB Desktop software - I'm thinking it must be one of my installed apps causing the crashes? I know I could return this latest device but each time equates to around 2-3weeks without Smartphone so am very keen to explore other possibilities before giving up.

View 7 Replies View RelatedThere's a WiFi network that I often connect to, which has a login page (i.e. I have to enter my username and password on this page, rather than storing it in my phone). As a result it's hard to use because every time I lock my iPhone, I get logged out (due to the lack of persistent WiFi), and then when I unlock it, I have to go back to the login page and re-enter my username and password. I have to do this many times per day.
Is there a way to either force my connection to be persistent (so it doesn't disconnect every time the screen locks) or allow it to auto-enter my username and password on the login screen, so it reconnects automatically? I assume that it would be easier to force the WiFi to be persistent since the login page is custom.

Ok so i've just upgraded to the newest firmware my phone offered me (5.1.1) and when i went into my messaging i noticed that my display picture is no longer showing beside my own messages, i've checked everything i can think of and the only thing i can find that may have anything to do with it is that for some reason under the contact "Myself" my partner's hotmail address is listed, i can't edit it or delete it, i can add other fields to the contact but cannot ditch this other email address
