Xperia Z3 :: Display In Full Sleep Mode During Call
Nov 15, 2014
got a problem when making calls... When hitting dial button display goes to sleep and can't be reactivated till other party ends call.Strangely this does not happen during hands free mode in the car.
When my phone is in sleep mode, I do not receive calls or text. I have a unlocked Z3 (model D6603). I have tested the problem with stamina mode on and off. No difference. In my testing, the phone works 100% of the time when awake, but when sleeping, in the same location, the calls are never received. I asked sony about this, and as always, they suggest run through pc repair, which won't work on unlocked phone. This wont work on unlocked phone. I have done factory resets and it has not worked.
I have noticed that LED notification for SMS, email, and... is only working when the phone is in sleep mode, its not functioning when the display is on. It is to say I'm in android 2.1, and had no problems in 1.6.
i have bought my x10 mini and i am update it from android 1.6 to android 2.1 by myself using sony PC companion. yes , i am able to install it in about 1 hour , i have notice that the battery consumption after the update is terrible, battery would not recover although the screen is turn off , battery temperature is about 34 deg celcius.I am then turn off all the data transfer , wifi , GPS, background process , kill all the running app application and measure the battery consumption rate !!! it give me 20 minute/percent of battery which is very not desired ! For "my" X10 mini SE 2.1 update ecleair got bug on CPU management, it run continously without going to sleep mode!
I'd like to readress this issue as it hasn't been resolved yet. After returning fromm sleep mode the pressure sensor needs at least two activations from apps that use the sensor. When running my self-written app, the sensor at first doesn't respond at all, only after activating any other app. Interestingly enough, when doing repeated calls to the sensor, it starts responding the very moment it returns back TO sleep mode...
I not real flash with new phones but decided after recommendation to purchase the Xperia X10 mini/pro mobile phone.
Things look pretty cool but cannot work out how to hang up a call when the screen has gone to sleep. It seems I must push the centre button to get the screen illuminated then depress the icon to hang up.
This seems a little odd to have to push two buttons to hang up.... Have I missed an easier way?
I got my Z2 just over a week ago and I noticed that when I have STAMINA mode on that my display keeps timing out every 5 seconds despite the settings being on for 5 minutes.
I upgraded to lollipop and I had this issue. Didn't realise so I ended up having to do a factory reset. Once this was done I turned on stamina mode again, as soon as I did the fault occurred again. So is there a bug on the upgraded software??
When I am on the home page of my iphone 4S, the phone will not go into sleepmode. I have already backed it up and restored. Still only will go into sleep mode manually.
Since the whole 2.0 update, I have been having problems when it comes to getting my Playbook out of sleep mode. When I swipe the screen to wake it up, the backlight comes on, and a bunch of grey lines are displayed. The same thing happens if I use the power button to wake it up. Sometimes it will display everything but will be a negative (what should be dark is light and visa versa). I either have to reboot the playbook, or keep putting it back to sleep and waking it up over and over again until it finally works.
When my new Xperia mini receives a call while in my pocket, the screen remains lock when I take it up and I cannot find any way to activate the display and thereby slide the slider to answer the call. After some seconds the call times out and the display becomes black while the vibrator runs constantly for around 30 seconds. After that the phone goes completely dead for maybe 30 seconds. And after that I can unlock it normally.I have not altered any of the factory default settings related to display locking. This does not happen if a call is received while the phone is on a table etc.
I have noticed that sometimes my IP4 doesn't go dim or sleep mode. Screen just stays on.. Usually happens when I have my text messages open but after my last message screen stays lit..
Issue: In WCDMA only/preferred mode, call/network drop frequently .Current Android version: 2.3.4 , Best solution provided by service centre: Switch manually between 2G(for calls) & 3G(for data), Customer Care ticket Id: 93172166 ,WorkOrder No: SE312TR111983
I have been following the case with service centre & customer care since 2 weeks but have been provided a sub-standard solution as mentioned above. Please do not mark the thread as "Assumed Answered", I ll get back asap.Scenarios checked: 1. 3G signal receptivity in my area: Confirmed OK by operator. 2. Used same SIM in another phone: Works fine on 3G, 3. Used another SIM on ray: Same issue with 3G mode
I bought yesterday a Nokia X2-00 and been exploring it for a while, so far so good, pretty happy and satisfied with it, but there's a problem that bothers and I can't seem to find a solution for it. About the screen-saver, I can, for example, put it as a digital clock, and set a timer for when the phone to switch to screen-saver mode. Problem is, I don't seem to find anywhere an option to play with the sleep mode - no matter what, about 10 seconds after the screen saver goes active, the screen goes totally black (goes into sleep mode) and I need to press a button to wake it up. No digital clock display, no nothing.I need to be able to see the clock (and possibly an icon for missed calls/new texts) without having to touch a button. On all my old phones you could play with both screen saver/power saving/sleep mode options, but not here. What can I do?
Ok, so this is probably the worst combination of things to occur. If you don't care about reading the story I'm looking for a way to put my phone into DFU mode without the sleep/wake button. If there is a way to do this please let me know - if you want to know why I need to do this, read below... Thanks.
Last week my sleep wake button mysteriously stopped working. For a time it would work with every 5th or 6th press, but now it doesn't work at all. So for the past week I've had to forgo the use of the sleep/wake button, which means that when I'm done using my phone I had to put it into my pocket and hope I didn't hit anything until it shut itself off.
It's been manageable, but I have dreaded the day that my iPhone froze or anything, because I have effectively no way to restart the the device. Turns out that day was this evening - it froze while I was in Gmail, and I was unable to do anything. Home button was non-responsive - basically the whole OS locked up. Now obviously if I had a working sleep/wake button I could have probably held down both that and the home screen and forced the iPhone to restart - clearly I don't have that option in this case...
Worse yet, I decided to try to fix my sleep/wake button, so I took my phone apart. I wasn't able to really figure out what was going on with the sleep/wake button, and while I had the case cracked open it died. Once I got everything plugged in again, the phone turned back on, and sat at the Apple logo screen for a long time, after which it superimposed a spinning wheel over top of the logo. Truth be told, I don't think that disconnecting the screen had anything to do with the spinning wheel, I think it's a result of the OS completely locking up (the likes of which I've never seen the iPhone do before... so something in the OS must have become corrupted... at least that's my theory anyway).
It has been/continues to be stuck in this loop. I'm not sure whether letting the device die and naturally resetting itself will do the trick. I'm leaning towards the idea that it probably won't help the situation. I have not yet tried to do a restore, because I'm worried that it won't work, and then I'll lose my backup as well.
So yah... does anyone know how to force the iPhone into DFU mode without the sleep/wake button?
I've been using my Torch for 6 months now, and it has been working fine with the Holster (its a flip case) Everytime I close, it will auto go to sleep mode. However, since last week, the phone doesn't go to sleep when I close the flip case. I think it doesnt detect the magnet anymore. I check the Holster and the magnet is still there. I use another magnet to run it over the Torch but the phone just doesn't go to sleep mode. I've pulled the battery out and even tried with other casing, it just doesn't work anymore.
My Wi-Fi always turns itself on when the phone is 'asleep'. Here is a screenshot of my Wi-Fi settings. I can't figure out how to not make it turn on like that.
I have a samsung galaxy s6, and the battery is draining rapidly because for one, the light will not stay off on the home screen, it keeps coming back on and off. this is my second phone now in two months.
I got my Milestone up on Bell's network and configured it all day. Lot's of notifications of email, SMS etc. Now I want to sleep, but need the phone to still ring and SMS to notify me, as I need those for work. Any way I can selectively mute some notifications and not others depending on what time it is? I couldn't find any apps that did this, but there's quite a few.
I've gone through a couple phones now, but I am still having this problem with the Triumph. Periodically, when the phone goes into sleep mode, it will not come out when pressing the power button. I have to take the battery out and replace it to get it to function correctly again. After experimenting with it a bit, it seems to only occur when I have Wifi enabled. When Wifi is off the phone seems to function in and out of sleep mode correctly. Anyone else experience this and/or have a fix for it(beside keeping Wifi disabled)?
I have also experienced some of the same issues that others have addressed on this site (random rebooting, slow GPS), but my Wifi sleep mode problem gives me the biggest headache.
My phone had an 80% charge last night and the nightime battery extender mode was on (as it is every night). Five hours later I woke to the flashing green light so I tried to check my messages. The screen would not come on. I knew the phone hadn't powered off because of the green light. I called from my home phone but there was no sound either. I looked online and found how to force a reboot (power on and volume down button at same time). The phone came on and said it still had a 50% charge. It did NOT show my missed calls! I called Verizon and they tried to say it was a fluke thing and not to worry. This has never happened before and the phone is only a month old. I rely on the phone as an alarm so this is especially disturbing, as well as the unknown missed calls.
I have tried lightly pressing the power button to get this puppy to sleep, but the battery runs down anyway. So, maybe I'm doing something wrong. How do you get the xoom to sleep?
I see how to keep my PC (XP) from going into sleep-mode, so Zumocast can access files. It would be cool if, PC didn't have to stay awake 24-7so as to save power, noise, PC fan life. Can Zumocast do that? My Squeezebox server has the capability for the remote device to wake it.
