HTC One M8 :: Can't Share Files Via WiFi Direct With GS5
Jun 16, 2014I'm trying to get my mates GS5 and my M8 to play ball (or transfer a large file) with wifi Direct. Used to work fine when we were both using Samsung phones but not when I'm on the m8.
He's using the built in Samsung wifi direct and I'm using superbeam (as apparently the M8 doesn't transfer files without third party software. We can connect but as soon as he tries to transfer a file it fails.
We did try Bluetooth but the speed is a joke and it failed part way though anyway. How to send files from a GS5 to an M8 via wifi direct?

I have the options to send the files but whenever I do so it would say file transfer failed to the other phone I"m sending the file to. At bluetooth settings, it says 'paired but not connected'. Prior to update I was able to receive files but after so I can do neither.

I bought this phone with lot of passion(since it is sony made) 10 months back and i really regret of buying this phone now.It doesn't has any warranty as it is bought from Singapore and i'm in India now. Please help me out with a solution apart from suggesting me to go to Sony Ericsson Service Center(They only discuss commercials despite of criticality of the part which is failed and no customer service is to be expected). The phone support is one more farse that the technician will be a very normal person and he only suggest to take the phone to nearest sony ericsson service center without even listening to your actual problem.

I tried to send normal files (pics, videos or even music) via Bluetooth to another device (whether PC or another BB phone) but I could not find the "Send Using Bluetooth" option that I used to have on my old software version (5.0). Also when I tried to receive any file I could not find the option "receive using Bluetooth" that was on version (5.0). Is there any solution? How to send files over Bluetooth on the new BB Operating System (6.0)?
