Today while I was eating I accidentally dropped my X8 into hot soup.I know this voids my warranty, but just wondering if anyone knows if wet phones can be repaired and can my downloads be salvaged..?

My usb port for mini pro got damaged,It is not covered under warranty(Ok,I am not gonna fight for this with Sony,let it be).I can still charge the phone,But the pc wont detect it.I am pretty sure it is a physical damage and not a firmware one because It started the day I tried to plug an invalid charger(Dont ask me abt it)
My confusions are
1.How much would it cost me to replace the port(Am pretty sure it would need to be repaired)?
2.Which is the best service Centre for Sony in Bangalore?

So, i wanted to get the device repaired by a certfified BB repaircenter here in Holland, but they said that they may not repair my BB because of the 'pr-code' and that i have to contact the supplier for futher info.As i mentioned, the supplier doesn't exist anymore ! How can i get this BB repaired by manufacturer warranty ? Device is a few months old.

took my shiny new n900 out of my pocket only to discover the lcd is cracked. I have spoken to vodafone who say it can be repaired under warranty free of charge. do you think this is correct ?.I was not sure if accidental damage is covered. Dont want to be landed with a big bill if they repair it outside of warranty. i was only sat in a chair when lcd cracked, not dropped or fell on, i thought it was a bit tougher that this.

View 8 Replies View Relatedi have a Xperia Neo (Kyno, i'm french) with Android 2.3.4.I love this phone, but i have a little problem with my bluetooh handfree of my car (it's an AUDI A4 B8 with command voice).
The problem is when the phone is sleeping , the data of the network quality seems to not more transmit of the car. Then when i want to phone with command voice, my car indicate that there isn't network operator.When i wake up the phone, the data of the network are again pass on the car, and the command voici work fine.
Some one have the same problem ? (with a solution ?)PS : i try a forcing "wake up" application , it seems to work but too consumer in battery ! some one known an application to force "wake up" when a audio bluetooth device is connected ?

I am facing a problem when trying to use my Phone as a modem (for internet) on PC using USB Tethering Option. The driver cannot be installed properly on windows xp eventhough I followed the procedures as metioned in the link [URL].. find the below snap shot of device manager screen in which you could find the driver is not installed.
Note : I tried using my phone as wireless modem (portable hotspot option) and found its working well.
I decided to upgrade my Xperia Pro (SI 1252-5232, it´s in the list) to ICS. the Sony PC Companion sees the phone and writes an update to version 4.1.B.0.587 is possible, so i click on agree, it downloads the SW to the PC, and than it TURNS OFF THE PHONE and shows a step-by-step guide how to update (1. disconnect USB cable from phone and PC, 2. battery must be +50%, 3. turn off phone and wait 5 sec.->>???WTF? how can i turn it off when "it" turned it off itself? 4. connect USB cable to PC, 5. hold "back" key and connect phone to USB). I tried it several times, with MTP and MSC mode, disconnected it, turned off, waited 5 secs, pressed "back" and connected" maybe 5 times all the possible ways, but it simply does nothing when I press the back button and connect it, only the LED is green.
I´am doing wrong? How long should I press the back button, which phone-settings are required, where could be the error?
