Xperia X10 Mini/pro :: How To Transfer Contacts From Nokia (E75)
Jan 14, 2011
I have tried a few things, but nothing works. The contacts part in PC Companion only lets me import one contact at the time, i got 311. Uploading my contacts to SE using my Nokia does not work, "No server response".
Just recently got a 2nd hand Xperia Mini Pro. I have an LG Phone, which I have backed up all the contacts of into Outlook, now I want to transfer all of these contacts onto my Xperia, but I can't seem to find out how to do it. On my old SE W810i, it was pretty straight forward, just sync with Outlook, but now I can't seem to find out how to do it
Did two different bacups, and I am positive that I did backup of contacts. Also did a bacup of all contacts on my online account at [URL] Did an upgrade of android 1.6 -> 2.1.
I ran restore. Everythinge else is restored, just not one single Name or Number. No contacts. Tried both bacups several times, I get a confirmation that the restore is done. Still nothing.
Hooked it up to my PC, and performed a sync with my page on sonyericsson.com. Nothing. It's always a small disaster to loose all numbers and names. I still have them all, I just can't get my phone to give a ****, it seems.
( Also tried installing the new Backup & Restore (1. Nov), [URL], but it gives me the message "not installed" every time i try. Nothing more. I think maybe it's because I might allready have that program on my phone)
I've bought a Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro SK17, and have wasted a whole day, trying to transfer my contacts from my PC's address book. First, it asks to disconnect my old phone from my computer, then to reconnect. Finally it ends the operation saying "A memory card must be inserted in the phone". I changed the memory card to put a new 8GB card. But I'm fed up to see the same message again and again.
When i synced contacts, the facebook contacts are not coming as phone contacts. So i cant use these contacts in many apps since they are not phone contacts. How to copy all contacts to phone contacts?
thought everything was ok with my phone, (experia mini, new software) but for some reason when I tap the contacts icon on the bottom of the screen, my contacts are not there, only my own name. I can search for names in messaging and everyone from my phone contacts, to my facebook friends and even Fearne cotton from twitter is there! I would like just my phone contacts visible in my phone book. I've tried to back up contacts from before the software update yesterday, and it takes ages to get through to 100% but the names are still missing
I have downloaded skype app on my computer for my xperia but i can not transfer this file to my mobile. Please suggest me how can i transfer this file to my phone or how can i install this app.
I know there is media go that you use to put music on your phone, but you need xp service pack 3 or later. I must have an older xp version. Is there any other way I can transfer music files to the phone?
My PC is not detecting USB. I am unable to charge phone using USB, but I cant transfer files....Previously I was able to transfer files...I changed my phone settings...I don remember the settings I changed...aft the change only i cant transfer files...
I've tried "File Manager" that comes with PC companion but whenever I click "Start" it just opens an explorer windows with the following path "C:Program FilesSony EricssonSony Ericsson PC Companion" ... and I never see my phone mapped as drive in windows?
I just download some applications from the Market then suddenly got warning phone storage getting low. So is there anyway to transfer the files from phone storage to SD storage?
I've just updated to 2.1 and installed PC Companion and Media Go, hoping this would relieve my pain with trying to transfer music to my phone (has an 8gb sd card)... all I've ended up with is more problems as the phone dismounts from the usb connection while trying to transfer music. Strange part is it disappears from Media Go, but is still listed as connected on PC Companion and the phone says it's still connected!?!
why can't i transfer avi files to my SD card. the media go software says that my SD card has no enough memory. the file im transferring is 100mb only while the available space is 400mb.
I've just experienced a major application/software crash in my Xperia which forced me to re-load all SW again! After that neither Media Go nor Windows Explorer recognize my phone as a unit anymore. especially since connection still works perfect towards another computer. Where should I start to look - have tried to update the SEMC HSUSB device drivers in windows but I didn't manage to find newer ones on internet than the existing ones, (5.1.2600.0)? I've latest version of SW on phone and run PC on XP SP3.
When taking pictures, the phone stores them under 'camera'. I want to transfer them ti the SD card, which already contains other pictures from old phone.
i was using SE j105i and i want to transfer all my sms/text to xperia k17i . i have already copied my contacts , etc to the xperia . also tried pc_companion . companion shows the text option . also i can view all my text/smson my pc . have also archieved them . when i connect my xperia the text/sms option is not available on the companion.
I've been at this problem for some time now and I have no clue what has happened. I simply connect the USB to computer and phone, Click Start in PC Companion (in File Manager). I drag and drop my pictures from 'My pictures' to 'images' and the pictures does appear in the folder of 'image' but once I disconnect the USB so I can access the photos in the phone, it's nowhere to be found. I'm not sure what's wrong with the card or the phone, I've tried deleting pictures from the folder ('image') that I open in the computer but once I disconnect to check if the images I deleted are gone, they are still there. It's like the SD card is not even connected or being read by my phone? The weird part is that it use to work before I updated the phone to 4.0.4. The file sizes and formats are identical... Music and other files don't show in the phone at all either.
i installed the bluetooth file transfer app from the market and it worked fine for a couple of goes, then my 6 yr old got hold of my phone and i am not sure if he altered some sort of setting and it is now not sending out files (it says on the recieving phone, - connection dropped- ) it is also now not connecting to other phones. Is there anyway of finding out what had changed so i can fix it, would a reset work if so how to do it.
I would like to transfer my Contacts from my X8 to a PC and a Nokia phone. When I export my contacts list, it creates a VCF file containing (supposed to be) all my contacts but it only has 1 contact (the first in the list). I tried viewing this file using PC Companion and it was confirmed that it only contains 1 contact. I tried transfering (Copy/Paste) this to my PC and opened this in MS Outlook, only 1 contact was opened. I tried the 'Send All Contacts' via bluetooth and it also transfered 1 contact.
I have a blackberry and I've recently bought an x10 Xperia for myself. I wanted to transfer my contacts and calendar from my blackberry to my x10 but for some reason, it does not work.
How to disable A-GPS on Xperia Mini Pro SK17i to avoid data transfer while roaming? (And accept longer GPS fix)
Is this: Setting > Location & securiti: uncheck Use wireless networks and leave only Use GPS satellites.I want to just disable the A-GPS but not all data transfer (Internet, mail, ... on demand)
I am a long time iPhone user and switched to Xperia Z2 recently. As the my old iPhone is pretty much old and I want to use Z2 as my working phone. One of the questions I came across is how to copy all of my contacts(200+) from iPhone to Z2? As they are totally different plaftforms and can't think up a way to get it done.
