Is there a way to disable APN without disabling data traffic? I have seen some different apps doing it, but how can I do it manually? I ask because I only use wifi and not 3G.

Recently, i'm facing some difficulties where my Data Traffic suddenly disable after i close my browser or any app.Fyi, i used packet data and i leave my phone connected to the internet without restriction in case ther is any update / email / notification pop up. So now, when this things occurs, i have to enable back my data traffic everytime it disable.

I keep having to manually turn it off (by unchecking 'Data enabled'), which is annoying. What might be triggering it back on all the time? I want to use wifi when available and only (expensive) 3G data when no wifi is available. what I should check? I've read that 'apndroid' can assist, however I don't want to use this if it's not necessary.

When turning off mobile data, each time I get a warning that reads "Unless you use Wi-Fi, you will no longer be able to use the Internet, Email or other apps that require a data connection."
I turn mobile data off and on frequently throughout the day. This message has become gradually more annoying. I think it is bad UX and at the very least, there should be a way to disable it.
I just got a new X8 phone with android 2.1 on it.I ve been trying to find the data traffic and the data monitor widgets, and also where the data traffic option is in the settings but I can't find any of these ve looked in the add widget option and neither of those 2 widgets appear in the choose widgets menu.

No notification comes in the notification bar once it is turned on and I am unable to connect. But on disconnecting, the data traffic has been disabled notification appears.

Is DATA TRAFFIC equivalent to the Internet/MMS application on 1.6?If I click Yes to Data Traffic it warns me that "additional charges may apply....." etc etc. I didn't get that warning on 1.6? Is this just the standard internet connection?

I updated my telephone to ICS.For last few days, i had a problem with device like it turned off and on alone, like restart for about 2- 5 times / day. And i see, that my battery cannot hold more than 20 hrs. Talk time is 37 min, so i dont use telephone a lot and i dont play games or something. I am also noticing, that Android OS spends much energy. View 3 Replies View RelatedA few hours ago I noticed that I had no signal on my phone (which is strange because I usually have good signal at work), and on closer inspection I could see the NFC symbol appearing/disappearing constantly in quick succession. After a few mins my phone then rebooted itself, and since then its been booting up, the NFC symbol does its flashing on/off for a few mins, then the phone resets again and the cycle continues!

This is really embarassing during meetings, etc. This was the problem in original android. Then I upgraded android to 4 ICS. PC companion said there was an update, followed the instructions including holding the back button down while reconnecting the cable. Halfway through updating there was an error, and laptop and phone both froze. Laptop is working now (after force shutting down by taking out the battery), but phone is neither on/off, instead there is just a flashing error signal of an exclamation mark ! inside a triangle, next to a graphic of the phone.I've tried restarting the phone, charging the phone, pressing both the on & home key, and taking out battery and sim card... nothing has worked!
