When I try to write some data to my SD Card (with an phone internal app, or with phone connected to my USB port) the data get corrupted. I'm running android 2.1, the SD card was tested separately on my computer and works fine !

I installed a 32Gb micro SD.
Everytime I transfer data (music or photo) on the card, it become corrupted. There is no problem with everything that stay on the internal memory.
The problem is present if I transfer through the phone or through the PC app.
I first tought the card was the problem. I tried it on the PC, I tested it with an app on the PC: the card is fine with no error. I also tried 2 other cards, they all do the same.
I copied from my old phone to the PC, and then to my X8, some pictures from my contacts. They are under the DCIM folder in the SD card.When I edit a contact and choose to add a picture, I can't add those pictures. The following things happen:
If I choose to use the internal Album application to browse and select the pictures, it shows all the photos I took with the phone's camera, plus several others that I don't know where they came from. It doesn't show the pictures I just copied from the PC to the SD card. But the ones that are visible can be selected and used.If I choose to use a file browser (such as OI File Manager) to browse and select the pictures, I can browse to the SD card, under folder DCIM, and see all the pictures, but that I took with the phone and the ones I copied over from the PC. But once I select a picture it just does't go to the contact. The contact editor still show's the default picture of a silhouette, and won't use the picture I selected. So,
how can I add pictures that I moved from my PC to the SD card as contact pictures?Where are the pictures stored in internal memory? Where are all those fancy silhouettes kept?

But i am having an issue with the built in memory card of the phone.When I tried to copy some music tracks to the sd card,about 75% of the tracks are corrupted after copying.I have tried with differnt mp3 files and most of them are not played after copied to the SD card.I believe this is a problem in the SD card,not in the phone. Will the poblem solve if i format the SD card?But there are some predefined folders inside the SD card and some of them are related with different applications of andriod OS. Is it ok to take a copy of this folders and paste it later In case, if i formatted the SD card?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have a Sony Xperia Z3 16GB version and Recently I had been to a hiking trip and had used my Xperia Z3 on the trip extensively for photos and vidoes. I have taken as much as 600 photos and few videos of size 2.9 GB. Since the phone memory was getting full, i moved the images,videos using the "Move Files to SD Card" option found under "Settings --> Storage".
The Transfer finished successfully and the phone memory was relieved. Now after this transfer, i can't open any images moved to SD card. They all were moved to "DCIM --> 100ANDRO" folder.
The photos seem to be corrupted. ALL OF THEM
This is such a mess and I tried a few tools for recovering the images. They didn't woork for me. How to recover these photos? These are memories from a Trip which I can do only once in life time.
The jpeg image properties show up the File Size clearly which means that the content is still there but somehow corrupted.
I have an LG G4 with an installed SD card. I have copied music to the SD card from my computer, but I cannot find an app that will recognize/find the music files on the SD card. If I go to the files from File Manager, I can play them, but I want to use an app so that I can play the songs randomly. I've been able to do this on all of my phones in the past. Why can't I do it on the LG G4?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to move a few files around on my memory card whilst the phone is plugged into my pc. There is over a gb of free space on the memory card. I get error: "The selected files could not be copied there is not enough free space on the device".
- I'm moving files, not copying so it shouldn't need any free space.
- Even if it did need free space there is more than enough available on the card.
How can I move files around?
I've been having problems with my phone recently, it doesn't recieve some text messages or show my missed calls. A friend suggested that it may just need updating, which made sense because I'd been getting update notifications, just hadn't got round to hooking my ohone up to my laptop. So I did just that and installed the 'companion' but when I try to update, it's asking me to insert a memory card. I've never taken it out! Not once. So i've turned the phone off and on again, as you do.

1 select sd card in settings on the X10 then select unmount sd card.2 take out the card with the phone still switched on since I can't remove the battery there is no obvious way to depower it
3 put card in my pc's card reader and copy its contents to a folder on the pc (using copy and paste?), I have seen some mention of hidden files - is there any trick here?
4 put the new sd card in the pc and copy the stored contents onto it
5 put the card into the X10
6 what now - how do I get the x10 to accept the new card?
i own a 5800 and when i tried to access to the memory card through the file manager it says the card was corrupted. but when i inserted the card in a memory card reader, it works accept that i cant eject it and a pop-up window came out saying an error occured while ejecting the card. it is a 8Gb memory card. i found a solution similar to my situation but is there any other alternative ways that doesn't require me to download huge files?

I'm now having problems with my 8GB memory card, when I put it into the phone it said "Memory Card Corrupted", So I formatted it, as it had said to (lost all my music from it) And now it only shows up as 30MB, **bleep**? Also, when I take pictures and such, they're all showing up as corrupted (since they save straight to memory card) - I called up the company who I've got the contract phone from, and they really weren't any help.

Since I had been having some odd behavior, I decided after the upgrade to reset the phone using *#7370#. The phone did refresh, but afterward, the memory card was unreadable. The error using file manager showed "Memory Card Corrupted" when clicking on the "E" drive. I tried reading in a card reader and it too failed.So, I am doing a long 11GB restore, but wanted to post this in case there is a known issue. If not, perhaps this should be looked at. My understanding of the reset process is it does not impact the memory card.

View 11 Replies View RelatedAfter taking my son on his first cub scout camporee this weekend. I took tons of pictures and once we got home and started to show most of them are corrupt. I DID have the camera app set to save pics to the internal memory. Some how while playing with the settings it was changed to save to the micro SD card. All photos that are saved to the SD card seem to get corrupted. They have a normal file size but I noticed that all of the corrupt files have a resolution of -1 x -1. Pics that aren't corrupt have a resolution of 5312 x 2988.
View 3 Replies View RelatedOk so everytime I move files over from my internal storage to my sd card on my galaxy s5 they become corruped. This is my 3rd memory card I have purchased so it's not that. I am even using an official samsung 64gb micro sd card uhs-1 class 10. When the video clips are saved on the device they play fine. So I copied them over to my sd card using the my files folder on the phone and "moved" them and "copied" them over. At first the files play fine but then when I go back later to play them some of them pop up as unable to play video and are corrupted. I googled the issue and I'm not the only one having this problem but I haven't found a resolution either.

The phone states that the card is corrupted.To test the card I have tried it both in a pc and a Samsung phone and have both recognised and utilised the card correctly. I also tried an old 512mb micro sd from the Samsung in the Nokia and again the Nokia said that this was also corrupted but this works perfectly in the Samsung I have downloaded all latest updates etc The card is a brand new Lexar 32gb micro sdhc class 10 I am unable to format the card in the N700 as I cannot get past the corrupted card message?

I then got myself a samsung 2 gb card. Even that got corrupted. It says memory card need to be formatted. But when i try to format it says that the card cannot be formatted. But After I configure my email, it seems that my memory card's content was reset to defaul. The folders that are only visible are the default folders when you reformat the memory card. But the free space is still the same as the size before the memory card was corrupted. So I'm confident that the files are still there because the size is the same. Is there a way to recover those files?

Everything played and was working fine.I then uploaded and deleted some music files through the bb pc software via the usb cable. Now everything seems corrupted and none works properly. The files are in the play list, but I can't play or delete them. The main screen also shows that there are 12 songs in the library, but there are only 8 (of which none work)
