i just upgraded my x10i to gingerbread. i have copied all the contact to my memory card using Contacts application, however after update im unable to import back, all my work contact are stored.
View 6 RepliesI copied from my old phone to the PC, and then to my X8, some pictures from my contacts. They are under the DCIM folder in the SD card.When I edit a contact and choose to add a picture, I can't add those pictures. The following things happen:
If I choose to use the internal Album application to browse and select the pictures, it shows all the photos I took with the phone's camera, plus several others that I don't know where they came from. It doesn't show the pictures I just copied from the PC to the SD card. But the ones that are visible can be selected and used.If I choose to use a file browser (such as OI File Manager) to browse and select the pictures, I can browse to the SD card, under folder DCIM, and see all the pictures, but that I took with the phone and the ones I copied over from the PC. But once I select a picture it just does't go to the contact. The contact editor still show's the default picture of a silhouette, and won't use the picture I selected. So,
how can I add pictures that I moved from my PC to the SD card as contact pictures?Where are the pictures stored in internal memory? Where are all those fancy silhouettes kept?
Why the SD memory-card don't recognize folders that were created or copied into it?

The problem is whenever I select option Refresh Library, the device is unable to load new music files which I have transferred to memory card using PC suite. Music player is unable to load music files which are stored in memory card. I even updated the phone software but unable to solve this problem, but other files such as videos and images. I am able to see in gallery. Only problem is with the music files.....

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to move a few files around on my memory card whilst the phone is plugged into my pc. There is over a gb of free space on the memory card. I get error: "The selected files could not be copied there is not enough free space on the device".
- I'm moving files, not copying so it shouldn't need any free space.
- Even if it did need free space there is more than enough available on the card.
How can I move files around?
I can't take the backup of my contact in memory card. I know how to take the backup. When i done the backup it says"unknown error".

View 2 Replies View Relatedi own a 5800 and when i tried to access to the memory card through the file manager it says the card was corrupted. but when i inserted the card in a memory card reader, it works accept that i cant eject it and a pop-up window came out saying an error occured while ejecting the card. it is a 8Gb memory card. i found a solution similar to my situation but is there any other alternative ways that doesn't require me to download huge files?

Repaired the software on PC companion while the memory card is mounted (Hence phone doesn't restart when it's mounted by the PC). Still no Joy with it. I have taken as much as 600 photos and few videos of size 2.9 GB. Since the phone memory was getting full, i moved the images,videos using the "Move Files to SD Card" option found under "Settings --> Storage".

The Transfer finished successfully and the phone memory was relieved. Now after this transfer, i can't open any images moved to SD card. They all were moved to "DCIM --> 100ANDRO" folder.Â

This is such a mess and I tried a few tools for recovering the images. They didn't woork for me. How to recover these photos? These are memories from a Trip which I can do only once in life time.

The jpeg image properties show up the File Size clearly which means that the content is still there but somehow corrupted.
Is it possible to change the location of the downloaded applications from the phone memory to the memory card? I was told that it goes directly to the phone memory,with other phones you can choose the location or you can transfer the files' location.

So if I want to insert hard reset code, I can´t. Restart without memory card and SIM card, shut down-power up and restore factory settings can´t solve my problem.

I am having the same sms problem as a few other people on this forum. I updated my software and it worked but then the problem came back again so i repaired it..which reinstalled the software and it worked but it came back again. It dint show any error or anything, I just could no longer receive msgs. Just last saturday i once again repaired it, and on monday im stopped receiving sms. At about the same time it shows that my memory is full even though i changed to an 8GB card. i only have 1GB of data on it. What can i do? ive tried using other sim cards and clearing the messages. No luck I think all my apps are being saved to phone memory which is slowing down the phone too and giving me that alert. Is there a way for me to transfer my downloads to the SD card?
