it is possible to set default numbers in my phone for text messages and phone calls for individual contacts? I would like to set up the phone so it defaults to mobile phone numbers for text messages, so I don't accidentally try to send a text message to a landline.

I guess this situation accured after I erased everything on my iPhone and installed backup from my computer. I searched everywhere on internet but couldn't find anything, and then this idea came up; I deleted all the assigned rigntones, created a new backup on my computer then deleted all contacts and installed the backup but still when I assign a ringtone to a specific contact it's still ringing default ringtone when she calls.. Btw I also checked for duplication errors, there is only one for each contact..

After the latest update to Android 5.1 the individual ringtones for contacts doesn't work anymore if the mp3 file is in the sdcard.
If the mp3 file is in the internal memory it works correctly. This behaviour was not present with previous versions of android.
Or is there an app that can do it?
I've tried the 'blacklist' option but it seems that people can find out that I've blacklisted them. Is there a more discreeet way where they can't find out?
The names of contacts from iphone does not appear in the recent calls, only numbers. I think the settings are different, eg, the numbers appear in the contacts: (333) 333-3333 and the recent calls appears :3333-3333.

I want to change the sms delivery tone or volume . have it as a separate setting from the generic notifications . Its so annoyin havin the report go off , and have to check in case its a real message , but i do want to keep the reports .my fone isnt rooted , just the latest update .

So I went to their contact info, added notification field and then changed their notification tone. But for some reason when they text me, they still come up as the default notification as like every other text does. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have the Xperia Z3 from Tmo and when I see my contacts I see the pictures on them but when I call them or they call me I get the blank default picture for them during the call. I have verify I dont have multiples contacts of the same or multi pictures. I reset the phone and in the first sync everithing was OK but after like one hour again the same probpem. I reset it and installed all apps one by one to see if one of them was giving me the error but everithing was OK after I intall them and after some hours again the same thing. I like this phone and I dont whant to go back to ios.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an Xperia Z3 Dual phone. I have a coorporation SIM inserted in SIM1 and a mobile net SIM for 4G connection in SIM2. That means SIM2 can't even handle phone calls, only mobile internet.
But since there isn't any options to choose default SIM for outgoing calls (ie. similar like mobile internet has already), a message pops up every time I would start a call, to choose SIM. That is really annoying considering only SIM1 can handle phone calls.
(But that would be kind the same if I'd like to use coorporation SIM for outgoing calls and use private SIM only for receiving calls...)
I recently purchased an xperia ray to which I moved my old SIM from SE K700i. The SIM had many contacts with multiple phone numbers (mobile number, house number.etc) under a single name, but when I viewed it on xperia ray , it shows duplicate names but with different numbers under the Mobile category. Is there a way to merge these names and bring all the different numbers into Mobile, House, Others etc under one name.I searched and found some answers for "Merging" but all were referring to merging different names with common phone numbers, but what I need is just the opposite. If there is already a discussion and solution to this , please give the reference.

This didn't happen before. This isn't a major problem but now I have to switch to the ear speaker during every phone call. (By the way, the loudspeaker volume is superb!)Is there a way to set the ear speaker to default for phone calls?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhen I receive group messages (whether from iphone, android, or windows) they show up in individual message threads. I have to download them, then they disappear from that thread and show up in the group thread.
I do not get a notification when they originally come through in the individual thread. I have to open my messages app and see an unread message. I do get a normal notification though once it has downloaded and transferred to the group thread.
I have group messages checked in the message settings
I have data roaming checked in data usage settings
I have AT&T
I use the stock messaging
I also have this same issue if someone sends me a picture, no notification and it must be downloaded
Is it due to having background data restricted? I cannot turn it on to see if it changes anything because I have a small data plan and don't want to risk going over.......
My phonebook/contacts has stopped working, so I can't call or find numbers. All this since the update, everything else seems fine at the moment.
