Im a deaf user of a xperia z3+, I need to prefix all my calls with 18001, but Im unable to send a text with this prefix, in my contacts when I go to send a text it will prefix the 18001, how can I set this to be able to send a text without the prefix 18001.

My text messaging has stopped showing the name of the recipient / sender, instead on the list screen I see the phone number, but for some reason the international +1 has been inserted in front. The +1 is not in my contacts, hence the phone no longer recognises the number as a specific person. It is not on all the numbers, just some of them. how to turn this off, or alternatively, to have all my numbers with +1 in contacts?

Suddenly, the SpeedDial numbers, although appear correctly when edited, are prefixed with a "+1" which prevents the calls from being completed.How can I fix it and remove this unwanted prefix, that suddenly appeared there?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy xperia x10 has started to send text messages that I didn't write to one of my contacts!!!! All the messages are the same "Ppppp" Yesterday they all had a scrolling circle beside them and message details said unable to send sender unknown.I deleted them but they kept coming back at least a dozen of them at at random times. Today they are being sent. By each message there is a envelope with a clock icon. This is happening while the phone is not being used by anyone and is sitting on a table, so its not as if it is being touched by anything in my handbag or pocket.I was using the Handcent App but it was also happening in the installed messaging software. I have uninstalled Handcent and am using the supplied messaging programme. Also getting a lot of force closing messages when I try to send a genuine text.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI successfully updated to the official Vodafone release using SEUS, loving the update so far but I've come across a problem with text messages.
Every couple of text messages they won't send and instead I get the message cannot be sent error. Trying repeated times has the same results then all of a sudden it will randomly work.
It can't be down to bad signal, last time the error came up I had full 'H' signal. I also tried Handcent to see if using an app would make any difference but it didnt. Are there any known bugs that sound like this
I cannot send text messages! After pressing 'send', the message doesn't actually go anywhere. It merely states that it is 'sending' it.

So the contact number 04xx yyy zzz becomes 864xx yyy zzz. Being Chinas' country code I am guessing my phone originated in China???? How do I stop the phone from adding the prefix??
View 5 Replies View RelatedWhen checking the online tutorial via AT&T's website it walks me through how to send a text message to someone in my contacts list from the text messaging screen. Once I start typing their name, it should start to automatically come up. When I try to do this on the phone, it won't do it. Do I really have to enter someone's phone number in order to do this? What if I want to add more than one person which is not an easy task either. I found where people are being told to download an app called Handcent SMS which will resolve the multiple people issue but what about accessing my contacts just by starting to type their name in the "To" line?

The only option when selecting them is to delete, which removes them from the conversation threads. It doesn't seem to be related to service, but to whether I am using the phone for any other purpose at the time.
2) When connected to a car BT system, shut off car, BT seems to go into a black hole. You can't reconnect, can't make a call (well, it makes a call, but you can't hear anything; can't play music, etc.). The only solution is reboot. This happens with multiple systems in different brands of auto, so not limited to one brnad.
what happens with text/sms messages when your blackberry is stolen but you keep the same number.So, for example, my blackberry was stolen last week and I am due to receive a new one this week that will have the same phone number. If people have texted/sms'd me on that number during the week I had no phone, will I receive the texts messages? I imagine not since it will be a different Sim Card.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThis just started happening to me yesterday afternoon. All the sudden none of my messages would go out. I called Verizon in a panic. They opened a ticket. A while later I received a message from my sister and was able to respond back fine. Turns out the Motorola messaging app does not like international prefix in front of the number. Now i get to go through all my contacts and manually take out the +1. I tested this on my Bionic, Droid X2, and Droid 2 R2D2, all with the most current software release. OG droid still works fine, I'm guessing since it doesn't use the Motorola app. Also tested and am able to send messages fine with the +1 prefix on an iPhone and windows mobile confirming Verizon answer that it was a device issue when they called me back in regards to my ticket moments ago?

I have verizon. And just recieved a iphone4s for my birthday. If I send a text message to someone who doesn't have a iphone, I guess, when they recieve the message on thier phone it shows up atleast three times. It's quite annoying for people I text daily. I have tried a soft and hard reset, and I have just noticed that there is a firmware upgrade available. I am in the process of charging my battery.

If my phone dies, is updated, or I need to turn it off, when I turn it back on it will send some really old texts and a lot of them. Since midday yesterday I have been able to send SMS (and recipient is receiving them) however I can not receive anyones SMS to me. I have updated the Blackberry software and have rebooted several times since.
