what happens with text/sms messages when your blackberry is stolen but you keep the same number.So, for example, my blackberry was stolen last week and I am due to receive a new one this week that will have the same phone number. If people have texted/sms'd me on that number during the week I had no phone, will I receive the texts messages? I imagine not since it will be a different Sim Card.

I also have lost the ability to send text messages and emails, as well.Tried removing the battery and resetting that way, and have also done a soft reboot per AT&T's instructions.AT&T has also reset my registration (or something like that) and have verified that nothing in my service plan has changed.

Today, for the last 4-5 hrs, I've been receiving numerous spam SMS msgs from 2 area codes in the Atlanta, GA area that are 3 different mobile numbers, and some of which are from the same repeating mobile number. For example, if I had a contact for Jack & Jill, I would have a mobile number for Jill and a mobile number for Jack. In the Contacts I also custom label each mobile number as Jill's mobile and Jack's mobile.When I receive a text message from either of these phone numbers, in Messages I just see that the text is from Jack & Jill. I can't see if it is from Jack's mobile or Jill's mobile.Is there any way to see in Messages exactly which mobile is sending me the text? Or am I going to have to have a separate contact for each person, i.e. Jack & Jill will have to be split up as a contact for Jill and a contact for Jack?

hello, I just upgraded my phone to the .732. Everything went smoothly during the upgrade, ever since then I have been having trouble with receiving text messages and MMS messages. I have gone to 3 sites for free ringtones have sent the ring tones to my phone, I have not received anything. I also have setup google voice and I am not getting any text messages from people tht text my google voice number.

My Nexus 5 phone is running Android 6.0.1, but shortly before that, I switched from a T-Mobile Prepaid plan to a postpaid plan and then, immediately back to a prepaid plan again. The thing is that I had a $30/month prepaid plan which is not available as a postpaid plan. But no one told me. They just said that I was eligible for a postpaid plan after 18 months. Of course, I jumped right back when they wanted to charge me $50/month. So that is what caused the texting trouble.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI am having troubles with my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge SM-G925W8 running Android 5.1.1. Ever since I upgraded to 5.1.1 I have sometimes been unable to receive text messages. This never used to happen with the older version of software I ran when I first got my device, and it is becoming rather annoying.
At random times I cannot receive text messages, and I have found the only way to 'spur' my device to receive messages would be to sending one. But this can be rather tedious, because if I haven't received a text in a while I'm not sure if it's my phone acting up again (so I must send a random text to try and download the waiting texts) or I just genuinely have not received a text.
Since the Lollipop update (I know, I know...) my group text messages haven't been downloading. Sometimes I'll see the MMS trying to download but it just times out and I never see it.
But then tonight I found out that I wasn't receiving any text messages from my roommates. The individually sent texts would come through but not the group ones.
Verizon ended up having me do a hard reset and it still didn't work.
The kicker though, my roommates turned off the iMessage/turn to regular SMS on their iPhones and app future text messages started coming through.
But I wasn't getting text messages from others with Androids too. It seems to be only on group messages though.
I have a BB Pearl 8130 and I'm having problems. Phone is very slow/flaky sometimes, sometimes I don't get text messages that people tell me about later, if it's busy thinking it won't ring when somebody calls, and then the caller ID doesn't always work. (That especially happens when I've just disconnected from the computer.)
I have plenty of free memory and pull the battery about once a day. Last week I reset, reprogrammed, and reinstalled the OS. But I'm kinda suspicious because I didn't lose my preferences/options for most of the programs that I reinstalled, and that makes me wonder if it wasn't thorough enough.
I'm receiving multiple text messages. Sometime I get like 50-60 in a day of the same message

I have an iPhone 4s and never had any problems but last night my iPhone stopped receiving text messages (from other iPhone users and other phone types). I messed around with my settings and my text messages started appearing again (although I can't remember what I pressed now)! I got a few people to send test text messages and I received these but again this evening I've stopped receiving text messages again.

i have not been receiving all text message for 3 days now. yet my network provider is saying there is nothing wrong with my phone as i could receive their test messages they sent to my phone. I have had a replacement sim card and network reset. I am having the same problem with several people, of who i receive some text messaes from them, but not all.
